Szczesny crocked but Vermaelen improving

Wojciech Szczesny is out of Poland’s upcoming international friendlies with what is believed to be a back injury. His absence from the squad was announced by the Polish FA but as yet we don’t know quite how serious it might be.

Given this is Arsenal, we’re predicting a 15 month absence and the amputation of one of his hands. It remains to be seen if it will add to Arsenal’s walking wounded list, a list which now has a crutching wounded section, following Bacary Sagna’s leg break yesterday.

Meanwhile, Thomas Vermaelen updated on his fitness via his Twitter account. He said, “Great step forward today. First run outside without any pain or discomfort. Hopefully I can make good progress this week”.

With Arsenal’s defence in whatever the next worst thing after disarray is, the Gunners will be hoping the Belgian can make his first team comeback sooner rather than later.

Reports that Aaron Ramsey will miss some games with a damaged perineum are wide of the mark.

Pele of Romford

Oldies are the best. Well played blogs sir.

Smeer Na$ri (with shit)

He’d still be a better keeper than most with one hand. This is a guy who made a full recovery from TWO broken arms at the same time!
Let’s hope it only keeps him out of the internationals, he’s priceless for us this season.

Eric Irish gunner

With shit how the fuck did he wipe his arse

manfredi

he paid Nasri 1 pound for each time he wiped his arse. Nasri was keen to start his business concerning the wiping of shit. Thats when he caught Mancinis eye.

Scribblers

It’s amazing how few goals he lets in considering he doesn’t have a defence.

RocCityGunner

One step forward and two steps back….F this s**t. Our players need to Man Up!

bizircus

“Reports that Aaron Ramsey will miss some games with a damaged perineum are wide of the mark”……..but………….
Reports that Aaron Ramsey will miss some games cause he is playing like an old headless chook are spot on!!

Shamps

Would leave a really big hole in our midfield….

*grabs coat to leave*

Gooner King

All these injuries…and Gibbs is fully fit! o_O

zeb

this is the most surprising thing! this run of games must be his career record without getting crocked.

NB

If injuries were a person, it’d probably be Clive Allen right now.

Viks53

Read the 1st sentence of the 2nd para…… why the hell am I laughing at this 😐

Mookie

Fabianski in goal and jenkinson at right back should steady the nerves!

Eric Irish gunner

Haha oh fuck

BigSteve

He’ll be back ready for the next game…this is just precautionary. However 3 months of Jenkinson at right back scares the crap out of me!!

Master Bates

Great now we have full Arsenal Sicknote team

1.Chesney(back injury)
2.Sagna(fibula)
3.Djourou (Muscular)
4.Koscielny(Ankle)
5.Vermaelen(ankle)
6.Wilshere(ankle)
7.Ramsey(damaged perineum)
8.Henderson(knee injury)
9.Chamakh(zeroconfidenceilitatis)
10.Abou Diaby (Ankle)
11.Miyaichi (groin)

yaaaay

Sam

We used to have a team and no Goalkeeper now we have a goalkeeper and no team. (Hes only gone and got injured now that we have that sorted)

Mooro

Well on the bright side, there’s no chance of him being injured on international duty (bangs nut against wall).

Lord Teddy Ears

“Reports that Aaron Ramsey will miss some games with a damaged perineum are wide of the mark”

Thats statement alone has me on the floor but really we have another injury should I bring my boots just in case.

bergkamp10

I say Diaby’s next contract (oh god the thoughts of us keeping him…) should be ‘pay as you play’ rather then hia current deal of ‘pay as you lay’ on the injury table. In January I hope Arsenal sort it out playerwise, to think Parker could have been bought after the game he had against us at the weekend…ridiculous not to have bid for his services. Where are our strikers gone? If RVP gets injured we have no goals in us..shocking state of affairs up front right now…

ogban

Time for Squillaci to earn his pay covering for RB or be kicked out now.

RocCityGunner

OMG, don’t wiki “Perineum”…MY EYES!

Xxxrob

Would Santos or Gibbs be able to play right back out of curiosity? Granted, they may not be able to cross with their bad foot but even if they pinged them in no one would be on the end of it anyways lol no big loss??
Poor bac.. Hope he recovers quickly..
SzcZ and verm should hopefully be back soon

Scribblers

Santo’s goal came off his weak foot. Mans a proper Brazillian and mans man, I’m sure he can do anything.

Sick to fuck Dublin gooner

Fuck me, can we please have good news and a win after the interlull… This season is getting close to a write off.. We should sign tevez cos it just can get any worse..

frog

look man, we dont need any jokes about ramsey. his level of play on sunday was so not funny. loan him out please arsene.

Bunburyist

===

Meaning he’s already surpassed the standards of Squillaci at his best. Welcome back, Thomas! See you at the end of the interlull.

Robin

Nah I say that Verm has just past DJ. Just being a central defender is better than Squiggy.

[…] was better news regarding Thomas Vermaelen who appears to be on the road to recovery, while Wojciech Szczesny misses out on international duty […]

Raymond

Please I would like to know, why can’t we have Koscielny if fit in our number 3 position until Sagna is back?

Gossip Gooner

This is a very good point.
If I’m not mistaken Kos started his career as a right back.

tralyan

If you’d ask me, the reason behind Szczęsny’s injury is that the Polish international side are flying to play their friendlies to South Korea. Yes, this doesn’t make any sense, but then again, it’s Poland.

[…] case Szczesny hasn’t even made it to Warsaw, but despite pulling out of Poland’s squad with a back injury, has done a brief interview with The Polska […]

[…] mind the captaincy being handed to our young pole in all honesty. But I am digressing. The stopper has pulled out of the international squad, but it is unclear how serious or how long the keeper would be out. Good […]

alex

coq played right back for the reserves back in the day; i suspect he’s always a fall-back option. great tackling on sunday from the lad, though he did get a little too ambitious with his passes at times.
