Arshavin looking for home comforts

Andrei Arshavin believes that Arsenal’s home record gives them a good chance of getting a result against Man United on Sunday.

While we’ve struggled away from home, losing six games already, our only defeat at home came against Liverpool early in the season, a game in which Arsenal finished with 10 men due to Emmanuel Frimpong’s sending off. Liverpool also got a couple of jammy goals from a racist.

Despite the lack of positive team news, Arshavin is hopeful that the support from the fans will help the team get a result. Speaking to Arsenal Player, he said, “I don’t think we play differently at home, we just try to play in our own style. Of course at the Emirates you feel the supporters more and teams are more frightened and scared. I think it’s easier to play at home”

Arsenal are currently in a battle to finish in the top four while defending champions United find themselves just 3 points behind their city rivals. The Russian is not overly concerned with their league position though.

“If we play well we don’t mind what form they are in. Man United started the season very well and seemed so far away from everybody else but at the moment they are not. Manchester City are above them. They are very strong but at home we are very strong too and I hope we can do it.”

Meanwhile, as speculation mounts that Arshavin could be offloaded in January, the manager is keen to dismiss talk of a departure.

“On top of [our injuries], we cannot lose players of that quality. It is too difficult.”

It seems unlikely that any of our offensive players will be allowed leave in January. Not unless we make a signing.

‘Make a signing’. Man, I slay me.

Make a signing… Fuck me when did those words become so depressing… No wonder wenger wants the January window scrapped, so there’s a logical reason not to spend when our annual December/ January injury crisis hits. Oh welll, like the positive attitude from the Russian anyways but Surely it’s about time to throw a curve ball and start both the Southampton boys alongside rvp this weekend? COYG!

Disparate Dan

Ha. I read this and assumed either that:

A) arshavin was back off to Russia

B) Mrs Arshavin was going to make him some super borscht which would recover his shooting powers.

have to agree with him that rednose’s boys are really no longer as far as they were in week two (was it). it was also the day when the ox played when our midfield literally had no spine. now – with support from song, ramsey and arteta – i think chamberlain can be the player to rise above the current eye-soring mishmash from walcott.
and why do we always have to face the manure when virtually all our players are crocked or have been shipped to africa (am not referring to marouane)?

On a slightly unrelated note i’ve just watched twitchy being interviewed on sky sports news. How much further up his twitchy fucking arse can those cunts get? Fucking vomit inducing!

I take it from your post that they gave him a torrid grilling about his Southwark Crown Court appearance coming up this Monday?

oh, wait

Thorough

Good insight from Arshavin, a player I still think we are misusing. And I am about to suggest the most unbelievable line up for us: Schezny, Djorou, Miquel, Kos n Per (Defense): Song n Rosicky (Defensive midfield), Arshavin (Playmaker/Assistant striker): Ox, Theo and VP (Attack). Lets come at them with speed from the wings, guile centrally and without leaving our backs opened because they are very dangerous on counter. COYG.

I think arshavin is perfectly suited to behind the striker.. That way he’s got song doing all his dirty work.. Plus he can actually strike a decent shot.. I think defenders have caught on too much that arshavin is going to cut inside from the left flank.. So why not stick him in front of goals where hes got more than just that option…

Midfield Corporal

I couldn’t agree more about us missing players. Chamakh should be being used as a door stop, Squillachi as the Tea Lady and Park Chu Young as a matchday steward.

Question- why not make the January transfer window just 31st Jan? No fucker does anything for the other 30 days.

Midfield Corporal

‘missing’- read misusing. Bloody predictive text iPhone thing.

Fatgooner

Things are looking pretty shit at the moment, but there ARE some reasons to be positive about Sunday’s game (yes, it IS me, Fatgooner). 1. Our home record is excellent, with only one defeat – and that was in our nightmare early season, and against Liverpoool. 2. Man United are not a great side compared to previous Fergie teams and defensively are weak. 3. Apart from the Old Trafford debacle, we have actually played well against the better sides. We keep fucking up against shit like Fulham, Blackburn and Swansea. 4. We can’t play any worse than we did against… Read more »

Spooner

You wait until Fatgooner hears about this.. Some bastard imposter coming on here and being positive? What a disgrace..

Voldermort

We can’t play any worse than we did at swansea. ….. Know there’s an epitaph if ever. I’ve heard one

Voldermort

First Mooro being gloomy now Fatgooner being positive. The world has turned upside down, I don’t like it, it’s like something weird is gonna happen.

AFC

So are we gonna win 8-2 now?

Wegner need a wake up call, Man U is going to hand him another heavy defeat for him to take his hand out of Peter Hillwood Asss

Midfield Corporal

I can’t stand that Wegner bloke. 🙂

Eric Irish gunner

Haha

Rayparlourinho

Do you mean Wagner?

Midfield Corporal

Actually if Wagner was manager, he might realise we need some defensive cover.
