Song tipped to pen new deal after nipple flash

Just 20 days after the Daily Mail reported that Alex Song was a target for Juventus, the same paper now claims that the Cameroon midfielder is on the verge of penning a new long-term deal at the Emirates.

The 24-year-old has become an increasingly influential figure over the course of the last two seasons and, according to the report, will be rewarded for his progress on the pitch with a pay rise that could see him become one of the club’s top earners.

Song, whose contract ends in 2014, would join Thomas Vermaelen, Tomas Rosicky and Johan Djourou as the fourth member of Arsene Wenger’s first team squad to be offered a revised contract in recent months.

Given that Song has recently appointed Darren Dein as his agent, the fact his name suddenly tickled the fancy of the tabloid tittle-tattle merchants is of little surprise. It’s an age-old trick. Try and secure your client a better deal by flashing a little leg and nipple at other suitors in the hope it sparks the current contract holder into action.

Fingers crossed the Arsenal board can see past the annoying mind games and just get Song to sign on the dotted line. Then get to work on RVP…

Usual journalism???? from the daily fail

Mr. Eboue Armann Yes

There should be a clause in the contract that says he gets a bonus for every game he plays in “God mode”, like he has done so many times this season.

dmcle

Darren Dein really is a slimy cunt who operates under the disguise of trying to do the best for Arsenal Football Club.

The fact that so many “fans” support him and want him back in the boardroom is bewildering to me. The nostalgia of him being involved when we last won trophies really clouds people’s judgment of the weaseling he’s done since.

Adam Mitchell

You might be thinking of his dad, David Dein. I doubt there’s any Arsenal fans or “fans” that want anything to do with Darren.

dmcle

Okay, happy to admit here that I mistook Darren for David (easy mistake to make). Are they really that different though?

Midfield Corporal

Yes, very different. One spent 25 years of his life striving for success for our club and without him we’d probably be Aston villa in stature. His son is a greedy bellend.

Cygan's Left Foot

And Darren is also married to Levy the Spud’s chairman daughter.

What can you say about an under the thumb little cunt!!!!!!!

critic

only one thing : Players appoint darren dein as their agent and not the other way round.

It is what it is

Does RVP know this??????

It is what it is

Apologies for the ?????????, my world is in sllight turmoil.

Master Bates

Darren Dein is not RvP’s agent , Bouachra(RvP’s wife) tweeted that she is having dinner with RvP,Verminator and RvP’s agent(he @ed him) ,not Darren Dein

Gunner Paddy

You mean David Dein back at the boardroom? AFAIK Darren hasn’t been at Arsenal; he’s just there to steal the talent for a “pound of flesh”.

David

Paddy, can you elaborate? I think I get your symbolism there and don’t think I appreciate the innuendo.

It is what it is

AFAIK – As far as i know

the optimist in me says

you have no idea what kind of gibbeish I was throwing in to make AFAIK make sense, “arsenal friend and …no no…arsene, fiend, art,? in, knowledge?”

Ajax

I think you’re getting David Dein (Former Vice-Chairman) and Darren Dein (Massive cunt masquerading as an agent) confused here dmcle.

mrswoo

Darren Dein is indeed a slithy tove but he’s never been in the board room, that was his even slithier father, David Dein, cunt extraordinaire.

Jaysus00

And Walcott too, just as important we have RVP’s main supply line signed up too.

Attasmani

He has been one of our best players in the last couple of seasons and his creativity for a DM is amazing, so he deserves it (in a weird world where you somehow accept that someone should earn more than 100 000 a week) and i hope that he stays for a long time at Arsenal, easy to forget how young he is 🙂

Sean

Normal policy for the club would be to address his contract as it approaches the last two years.

P.S. dmcle, do you do everything your Dad tells you in your career? Or act in your own self interest? Don’t confuse the Father with the Son. Two different people.

gooner

Good point. You don’t always do what your dad wants but this dein jr cunt is doing what his wife wants.

Sean

He’s not forcing the players to move, they must want that too.

TeeCee

@Sean
As he’s getting a cut out of every xfer, I’ll bet he’s doing everything bar kidnapping the buggers and delivering them, bound, gagged and wrapped in a roll of carpet to Citeh. Here’s how it works:
Agent: Do you want to move?
Player: No, I’m happy here.
A: You’re on what…..70 thousand a week? I reckon I can get you 150.
P: Hmm. Now you come to mention it, I could do with a change of scenery……

It is what it is

@ Sean

Wake up and smell the aroma of the coffee. MONEY makes the world go round. Also, “must” is too difinitive a term to use to describe the desire of anyone you don’t know.

Agents like Darren Dein and Kia ‘Advisor’ Joorobabank are what fcuks football up for fans.

And, Song deserves whatever we offer – within reason.

gun for the hills

Blogs… you had me at nipple flash

Cygan's Left Foot

I have also read it somewhere else, that we are offering him 75K five years contract.

Good move, his form deserves it.

Mina Kirollos

Excellent. For me Song is one of the most underrated players in the PL. He’s been one of the most consistent performers for us since 09/10 season, and his absence through injury or suspension in some of the important fixtures over the past 3 seasons proved costly (both Camp Nou encounters, and Old Trafford this season). Of course there is a room for further improvement and he’s relatively young, but still the guy deserves more credit in my opinion for what he’s doing right now.

Thorough

We’ve got only one Song…and for 5 more years long…and though I think my poetry wrong…I still can hear the signing bell gong.

Chrispy

you’ve been smoking too much of your bong because this is so so wrong and my butt cheeks look reasonable in my wifes thong……….

Jeez , the stuff I have to admit to in the name of poetic licence!

Thorough

@Chrispy. And I thought I was bad at poetry. What exactly are you smoking? Only the matchstick?

dutchgunner

At the beginning of his Arsenal career, i thought he was the worst player ever to put on a Arsenal shirt (and that includes beating some stiff competition from players like Helder and Kiwomya).

I’m glad he proved me wrong.

BillyBatts

Likewise. “Fish up a tree,” as it was so eloquently put by our own dear Merse. To be fair he was very young (18 if I remember correctly) when he made his debut, but he looked complete bobbins. Didn’t seem to really be good at anything; slow, unimposing, weak passing, no goal threat.

Arsene absolutely knew on this one though. One of our best players now, no doubt.

Theoptimist

So if we give Diaby another 5 years he might turn out good too?

Conner

Then we should give Squallaci….a few more decades?

arbolito

This is what gives me hope for Frimpong. Because right now, his passing is atrocious. His tenacity is unquestionable, however. I wouldn’t mind seeing him go on loan again next season.

d7g7

Yes please.

As someone said earlier this season “how much would it cost a 24 y.o. Alex Song?”

Comedian

Where is the pen?

Gooner Sam

Anyone get a horrible feeling that at this rate the summer transfer window will be about new contracts for Walcott, VP and Song…(groundhog day..)

BillyBatts

Sign him up sign him up sign him up. Rare to see a DMF with such passing range, and the occasional goal to boot. You feel that at 24 he’s got a way to go yet and could conceivably become one of the better midfielders in Europe.

Greenwich Gooner

don’t give up the day jobs just yet, Gooner, er, ‘poets’.

Delighted if this is true. We’d be lost without our Song.
Now if only we could replace “The Wonder of You” with something half as good…

Greenwich Gooner

sun’s gone to my head.
replace The Wonder of You with something half as good as it, not half as good as Song. I’ll….coat. etc. (edit button for the dimwitted like me please?!)

Gooner Sam

Yes Greenwich…GET RID OF WONDER OF YOU ITS CR*P!!!

Jan Vertonghan

Is Song really that good? Useful yes, effective against weaker opposition definitely, but we aren’t exactly talking Patrick Vieira or Cesc here…I find it strange that we keep getting linked with people like M’Villa and Vertonghan if Song is going to be first choice DM for the next 5/6 years

BC

I’m not sure he’s quite the DM we’re looking for. Doesn’t always know where to be imo, and needs Arteta/Jack next to him to play well.

Highberry

Wenger (in Jedi robes): “this isn’t the defensive midfielder you’ve been looking for”

Juventus scouty cunt: “this isn’t the defensive midfielder we’re looking for. Move along”

kobst

yes of course. he’s not cesc so why bother.

It is what it is

Don’t believe everything you read.
He is clearly more than a DM……let us not compartmentalise. Heard of Total Football?
Useful? Try immense.

Clock End Mike

, I think I remember, pointed out in one of his posts (here?) that it’s hard to credit it, but Alex Song’s assist rate is virtually the equal of that of Cesc Fabregas. And he had the figures to prove it, if only I could find the link to it.

Camilla

We’re getting linked with M’Villa and Vertonghan because, quite frankly, we’re always linked with people we don’t actually need.

kc

gotta love Songo – been at the club for a while now and you get the feeling he loves playing for The Arsenal. Arsene saw the light with him somehow, and he’s turned into a top class player. He still has his ‘moments’ BUT he’s passionate and has stepped up a lot this season in the absence of Cesc. Boss.

cestriangooner

Hopefully we’ll get him to sign a new deal that prevents him from having silly haircuts, speaking of which anyone seen this on the official site? http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/special-report-carl-jenkinson-s-haircut

tickled me! Mind you as long as they’re playing well and keep up the good performances they can shave cocks into their hair if they like.

GoonerNugget

I thought AOC sounded very sincere. Just really wants to help Jenks with his ridiculous hair.

Alex

Would love the club to surprise everyone & extend contract for Theo, Song & RvP then announce all 3 on the same day ASAP. I wish…

Camilla

Just let it be soon, I don’t think I could take the uncertainty of a couple more months like this…

RvP

Does he get coffee with his?

aditya

What no nipple flash 🙁 :okay:

Redsy

Hopefuly Rvp and Walcott will sign soon and walk out Wengers door and have a hug and a little dance like Carl and the old man did 🙂

Chinmay

Completely off-topic, but put the usual guy on for liveblogging from QPR game. He’s a real genius at describing the games live. God-send for people like me who’re too stubborn to go to the market and buy an effing laptop rather than follow the game on a not-exactly-top Nokia.

Aamir

Err, The Blogger himself does the liveblogs usually. He was at the Emirates for the Villa game, so he had someone else fill in.

Midfield Corporal

I suspect over the next 3 years we will see Le Coq and Frimpong taking up the DM mantle and Alex given a little but more licence to go up and down the pitch. Of all Arsenes findings, I think Song is the one that blossomed from caterpillar to butterfly most dramatically. When I recall his early years I jar couldn’t see anything positive in his game and expected him to be Stephan Malz II. The only negative I have to say about him now is he does look, and occasionally play like he’s been on the happy fags all… Read more »

Songs come a long way since that infamous fulham game- sign him theo & rvp up pronto then get goez podolski & vertohogen and we re back- wonder how much we ll get for our dead wood though?

Midfield Corporal

That would be my ideal summer too.

Frog

3 day ban for saying gotze.

Witoldo

The player who shall not be named signed a two-year contract extension at Dortmund until 2016.

AMURICAH

what is everyone’s fascination with vertohogen, we have 4 center backs and four outside backs and we want another one? why? the fact that we had all four outside backs hurt at once was just a fluke and won’t happen agains *knocks on wood*

ilya

Because verthongen can play D-mid and is one of the top defender prospects out there. I think he would provide really good competition for places and we’d be able to have some experienced mid-field cover. Him and a striker is basically all i think we need. Maybe an attacking mid too

The Law

For me, Song’s transformation was exactly that. I believe it was a game at Craven Cottage a couple of years back where he was beyond woeful, and a friend texted me to say Song was the worst midfielder he had ever seen. Then, in the very next game, he was so good, it appeared he had been replaced by a clone. The difference was that dramatic, and to his credit, he hasn’t looked back since. Sure, he still has his dodgy moments, but by and large he has been a rock steady performer in our midfield, and long may his… Read more »

canis lupus

A lock to be starting in the withdrawn midfield role for years to come unless Frimpong or Coqelin can prove they’re even better. Good business for all involved, let’s make him an Arsenal lifer!

Rad Carrot

Yes, yes, yes. Sign him up. He’s a quality midfielder and his ability to find players with a killer ball is second to none. That’s one of three we desperately need to keep. The other two are Theo, and… um, someone whose name escapes me for the moment. Ah yes, Robin. That was it. I was beginning to forget about him, I mean he hasn’t scored in AGES… No, Wenger, seriously. Give them all the money. Would rather keep all the stars together and sign no-one over the summer than get a few new players and let people like Alex… Read more »

Some one , pls get italian mafia to kill dein

O Death

Off topic, but I’ve just heard a sub has reached the world’s deepest place.

I didn’t know Samir Na$ri was dating Katie Price!

Goonerhaea

The day Song, Theo and ofcourse RVP have all signed new contracts… I’ma definitely do this-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKlxjbhB9HE

CAGooner

By all means, sign Song ASAP.

As for agents, well, they’re all slimy. It’s the nature of the beast. They’re so slimy that slugs pour salt on them.

Madonna

Yep that’s how football agents work 🙂

Nothing forcing Song and others to choose Dein. Maybe he is good at his job?

Easy to blame Dein, harder to accept reality – the players love money not Arsenal.

Gunnypaddle

I am not too sure about making signings on the summer. We have a fairly strong squad (bar injuries) and some depth. And we saw the effect of how new signings can disrupt the team spirit, one of our great strengths.

Camilla

Yup. We’ll have 3 fantastic CB’s, 2 pretty good LB’s, one amazing RB and one up-and-coming sub, Rosicky, Arteta, Ramsey, Wilshere, Song, le Coq in midfield, Theo, Robin, Gervinho and the Ox.

A back-up striker who could double as a winger could be useful, I suppose. If only we had any chance at signing one. Preferably a German one, those guys have a good work ethic.
