Bould gives Walcott and Wilshere update

Steve Bould has confirmed that Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere have returned to light training but stressed that both players have only an outside chance of featuring in next week’s Premier League clash with Norwich.

Walcott returned from the most recent international duty having sustained a pelvis problem while Wilshere has been kept on the sidelines for precautionary reasons following a scan on his long-term ankle problem. While rumours have circled that the latter might not play again this season it looks as though he does still have a part to play in Arsenal’s push for a Champions League place.

“We have good news with both of them,” Bould told Arsenal.com.

“Jack and Theo are outside running, and have an outside chance of being involved against Norwich a week on Saturday.”

In further positive news it has been confirmed that Nacho Monreal will be fit to face West Brom this weekend despite a collision with the post against Reading.

“Nacho has recovered well from his knee problem from the impact of the post and has trained the last couple of days so is available for the weekend.

“We just have Ryo [Miyaichi] and Abou [Diaby] out for the long-term so things are looking good in terms of availability.”

Arseblog News has no idea why Steve Bould is the one giving the update rather than the boss…no doubt it’ll become clear in due course.

Good to know that they’re both close to a recovery. Especially at the moment when the forwards and the midfield all seem to be upping there game anyway. Competition for places me might think.

bingobongo

maybe somebody mentioned it already but, Arsene Wenger had lost his voice.

Matt

Not to mention his wallet. (har har har)

Ren Vassilliou

Does it really matter who is giving the news , you guys seem to pick up on anything and everything, maybe Arsene was busy looking at PSG lthe other night?? only joking guys don’t go writing any other silly suggestions.

49eatthat!

Was thinking to myself what if vermalen was pushed to DM in our line if anything he seems to enjoy the occasional romp upfront. Positional change worked for both toure and Lauren. What do yu guys think on a totally separate matter.

Lindhe.

Do they have to mention Diaby in every thing, Damn it gets me down…

We should be getting quite a few players off the books this summer! Im thinking 1 or 2 beautiful additions to our squad and we should be able to win the league next season. COYG! <3

Arsene Wenger

I was at training, helping Gervinho with his finishing, so I asked Steve to give the statement for me.

Tee

Can people stop putting comments up as if they’re players or the manager, it’s getting so old.

Gervinho

Ok

Tee

I asked for that..

Gareth Bale

I am a stupid monkey.

big dawg

Arseblog, did you hear about the fan that got banned for throwing a banana at Bale in the NLD?

Harish

It’s only not enjoyable when the comment isn’t intelligent or witty.

Judgement day (once more)

Really looking forward to the Norwich game! Last weekend gave me a glimpse of the old Arsenal where (despite conceding a stupid goal) the three points were in the bag all the game. One of my great joys in life comes from Arsenal dominating games and scoring at least three goals.

Most happy are my thrashed finger nails and broken teeth. Let´s ruin sp*rs season (again) and mess with the scummy chavs! Bring on whoever we´re playing!

Clock End Mike

Only Everton can help push both Sp*rs and Cheski out of the CL places, and unfortunately for them, we’ll have to spoil their chances by beating them at the Grove in a couple of weeks’ time. But it would be nice if they could, wouldn’t it?

Clock End Mike

that’s Chelski…

El Dave

This is great news for us lets hope they can help us push for that top 4 spot

I wonder if nacho or gibbo will start. Maybe both? Rekon gibbs could end up quite decent further forward. Been hugely impressed with his ability to get round other defenders this season.

Pete

He used to be a winger but Wenger converted him to a left-back.

He is working on his footballing brain. Something like “be the football, be the football, be the football”

I believe Wegner said that it wasnt the same ankle that kept Jack out last season

Arsene is busy wondering what the hell he is going to do with Denilson.

[…] 来源:[Arseblog News] […]

No, i think he knows exactly what hes doing with Denilson…….. And Arshavin, Squillaci……and Bentdner, Santos, Mannone…..im sure theres others : /

Cliff Bastin

Theo looks like…..his pelvis is hurting.

Tomáš Rosický's Quantum Entanglement Theory

Wasn’t Wilshere initially supposed to be back for the Reading game?

I’m’a’worryin’

No, they said they would aim for him to be back for Reading game, but wouldnt Rush him if they thought their was any risk, which is why they obviously didnt.

Aslong as Rosicky and Ramsey are in good form, i see no reason to rush him back.

RadCarrot

Let’s FUCKING do Wigan and Norwich and push on towards the goal of top-four.

It’s not the greatest goal in the world, but for fuck’s sake let’s get there.

With any luck, we’ll have Poldi back, and with Ox, Gerv (who had a cracker last time out) and Rambo all fit, we should be alright, as long as Rosicky and Santi are both still up for the fight.

RadCarrot

Um, *West Brom

Sorry.

Rufusstan

Hey, we can Do Wigan as well, just not for a few weeks yet. We might even be the ones to finally send them down

bob

I’m looking at the fixture list and, anyone correct me if I am wrong, if City lose to United (entirely possible considering the table and that United are at home), and we manage to win our next three games (WBA, Norwich, and Everton), then we will be (albeit temporarily) in second place over City via goal difference. Keep the faith Gooners 😀

Fatgooner

Great news that Jack could play again this season, but I’m not too worried whether or not Walcott returns. With eight matches to go we’ll be lucky if we get two decent games out of him. And anyway the Ox is beginning to look good again. By the way: hasn’t the Premier League been a complete pile of shit this season? I can’t remember a season when there have been so many awful sides in the top division. At the bottom, QPR and Reading in particular have been absolutely dreadful; but Wigan, Stoke, Aston Villa and Sunderland have all been… Read more »

Jacks gonna be another Diaby.

Rodders1971

Dave57’s gona be another trolling cunt.N17 for you, silly bollocks.

cestriangooner

Just out of curiosity dave57, have you stopped crying about bale yet? I believe lennon went off injured as well oh no poor you!

obinna

You are shitting me … right???

ARSENE WENGER

I know its off topic but would be interesting to see a stat pack of games won/lost with or without Walcott and wilshere and how many of Walcott goals/assist won games or wether they were important

Arsene Wenger

Ah, non. Such information has only one intention: to harm.

Fatgooner

Looks like Chelsea are going to get through this round of the Europa Cup.

Good.

Arsene Wenger

Sp*rs have Lemon and Gallas injured. They’re being dominated at their own place by Basel, and they look set to draw, having conceded 2 away goals. AVB said that his team have more quality then Basel, but I sixteen years in this job and I know that Spurs have no quality, spirit and mental strength.

Arsene Wenger

From what I can see, The Unevolved One is also injured.

Bonjour

Just need Vertonghen to also get injured and AVB will probably announce a forfeit to the rest of the matches

Frrred

Lennon came off with a bloodied vagina. Gynaecologist to examine Injury extent.

Highbury

Monkey boy now twisted his ankle and off on a stretcher ;))))))

Rodders1971

Are monkey ankles similar to human ankles? If so that looked fuckin painful, what a terrible shame for the 1 chimp team.
Top 3 here we come!

Highbury

I thought I’d get a fast thumb up for that last comment and i did – in 2 minutes!!!! Chelsea also looking to add to their fixture congestion tonight with a 3-1 win and Benfica a good side looking good for the next round to block chelski and the spuds… 😉 looking good boys…looking good…… Now let’s not fuck up out own games and make sure we don’t end up on the brink of embarrassment next season!!

jason

Im Welsh and a Arsenal fan so very conflicting emotions to see Bale streteched off like that.

I just hope it costs Spurs their top 4 finish but i really do wish bale a speedy recovery.

Jim Jimminy

Agreed. Looked a bad one. At least they have the perfect excuse for missing out on champions league.

Harish

Tottenham need to not get Champions League place for many reasons: 1) They’re tossers. 2) They will be more inclined to sell Bale as he’s not playing for CL. 3) Less revenue. Hate to say it, but they seem to be financially well right now. 4) Less fanfare. For some reason (maybe it’s the ape pen in their zoo) they seem to be growing in steady popularity. 5) No CL = less willing interest from top flight players, causing less depth in players. 6) I don’t like them. 7) They’re tossers. The Spuds are like the cocky kid in class… Read more »

Tottenham have been fined by uefa for fraud: pretending to be a big club since 1882.

Curtis Harris

I know how you feel it’s like watching Dempsey play. (I’m American)

jason

Even with Bale injured it will be a mistake to underestimate them, Arsenal need to make sure to win their remaining games if they take it easy thinking a top 4 finish is guaranteed they will surely fail.

cestriangooner

spot on

dave57

Oh wow lets celebrate other teams injuries or failures. Doesn’t change the fact that Arsenal is miles off the pace in the league, out early in the Champions league and humiliated in the domestic cups by 2nd and 4th tier teams .
But we did beat Barnett.

Lec

Cunt.

arseblog

Next time you resort to name calling, you’re banned. I’ve warned you about this before. Even if a person is a cunt, we can all work that out for ourselves, thank you.

aaa

what a cunt

Arsene Wenger

As I have said, I am sixteen years in this job, and I have learnt to not only look at the negatives like a snarky little cunt. If, by ‘miles behind in the league’ you mean four points off third with a game in hand and most of our hard games behind us, then you are right. Also, there is nothing wrong with celebrating other teams’ failures. I don’t know if you noticed, but we compete against other teams (ie. teams which are not Arsenal, this is why there are 20 positions in the league by the way) to try… Read more »

Just one. Is he really a neanderthal? At least a couple million more years of evolution for that to be true.

Arsene Wenger

Yes, you are right. I just thought I’d bring a bit of variety instead of the regular ‘chimp/monkey/PG Tips.’

bingobongo

when is a team not ”out early in the Champions league”?

we went as far as any other English club.
we do not hold our heads in shame in Europe.
we do not play on Thursday nights.

GoonerDownUnda

On The Topic Of Injuries…

Did anyone else see Bale Monkey get caried off on a stretcher in the Europa game?? Not to mention Lennon, who looked worse off than Bale?

Looks promising if we have Wilshere and Walcott Returning just as they lose 2 of their big guns.

Would prefer to see Gervinho start of Walcott for the moment however.

Arsene Wenger

Ideally, Spurs collapse. Chelsea will hopefully suffer in the league thanks to my overweight counterpart at Stamford Bridge hunting for silverware to add to his CV (FA cup and Europa League) and neglecting league form somewhat, along with a fixture list more congested than his gut after a visit to McDonalds.

Best possible scenario which actually has a chance of happening is Manure finish 1st (hopefully securing the title before playing us), Money City finish second, we nick third and the Toffees finish fourth.

GoonerDownUnda

Ideally Wenger, i would prefer you be on the training ground rather than posting on Blog comment sections, however i wouldnt mind having a weekly blog section from you 😉 Without Bale & Lennon i believe they will Collapse, sooner rather than later, as Bale has carried the team, while Lennon has been improving the more teams focus on Bale. Not so worried about Chelsea as i know they will get over-confident, drop points and yell more abuse at Benitez. Gunners have just got to keep playing the way they have been, pressing as a team, passing with precision and… Read more »

Arsene Wenger

Yes, GoonerDownUnda. I just returned from a 24-hour shooting lesson with Gervinho. I only come onto Arseblog when there is spare time (eg. when Gervinho is working out where the goal is).

TW

Ideally Bale is out for the rest of the season before being sold this summer (either to a zoo or a football team) never to be seen in the BPL again.

obinna

Bould could become the manager if wenger retires…

GoonerDownUnda

I’d say he’d stay on as AM, to keep some form of consistency in the management staff, but i don’t think he’s ready for a full Manager position just yet.

As i have said before, get David Moyes from Everton or… Risk using someone such as Dennis Bergkamp who, although probably not ready for a managerial position at Arsenal, has shown much potential as AM at Ajax.

Harish

Not expecting it to happen but I wouldn’t be surprised if Wengers adds two more years to his contract, leaves in 2016, and Pep moves from Bayern Munich to Ashburton Grove, to an Arsenal which is more financially stable, debt-free (presumably by then) and knocking on the top spot’s door.

Truegooner

Guardiola is too much of a leap. Laudrup, De Boer, Bielsa, Pochettino…any of these guys would suit me fine.

Lec

Bale has injured his ankle? Now what will he peel the bananas with ffs!

Lec

Okay i’ll try.

Arron

magnificent points altogether, you just gained a new reader.
