Charlton tighten their grip on our Coq

It’s been announced that Charlton Athletic will get to hold onto our Coq for longer than expected.

Francis Coquelin will stay at the Championship side until December 30th. In a statement on their official website, they said, “The French U21 international has impressed since arriving in SE7 and started Saturday’s south London derby against Millwall.

“The 23-year-old also made impressive cameos from the bench during the 2-2 draw at Leeds United and 1-0 victory over Reading.”

The initial loan spell was due to expire on December 1st.

It had been suggested that with injuries to Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere, Coquelin could provide an emergency option, but it obviously hasn’t reached that stage yet.

Continued good luck to him.

I wish he could stay at the club as a mascot just so you guys can keep the puns coming forever

Ormey88

These Coq headlines are just fantastic… Hope we hold on to him for a bit longer just for the comedy material.

Parisian Weetabix

This is it. This is the best Coq headline of them all. You guys did it.

Arsepedant

I dunno … I really liked the one when he was injured – “OUR COQ WILL NOT BE FULLY ERECT FOR THREE WEEKS”

lauren van luzhny

they like to play with our coq

5 Live Crew

Semi Ajayi is being lined up to go straight in as his natural replacement… famous for his lob apparently!

New Haven Gooner

One Coq!
We’ve only got one Coq!

Me So Hornsey

On jan 1st I predict Wenger will be begging for the services of Coq up the Arse.

joey Sixpack

Just..no.

TeeCee

With glowing praise like that, I’m sure there’ll be many clubs begging to take our Coq next season.

Hutch

Need to think about linking Coq and Semi in some sort of childish pun.

Thinking caps on, people.

Ben

The coq is only half in and half out.
That’s the problem with dealing with semis?

usgunner

If they hope to retain use of our Coq they need to ensure they rub him the right way.

MC

I was going to say that I really like Coq, but thought better of it

Al Gilmore

defensive midfielder….stopper….oh…it’s coming to me (phnaar)…nearly there…..

COQ BLOCKER!!

there… how did i do?

David

with Arteta out, why not recall him?

YQFGooner

We do not need to recall him. Wenger didn’t buy a CDM because we have so many personnel in our midfield that we can makeshift. If a LB playing CB does not teach us something…

Injury to Arteta and Flamini means Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, or Chambers can play alongside another midfielder(Cazorla, Rosicky) in front of the back four.

Wenger believes in his players and will never show panic.

Seriously though all jokes aside, Coquelin is a very good player who has the potential imo to develop into a fantastic DM. He has aggression, can tackle well, reads the game, can play short one/two touch football as well as seeing the long ball. He has strength and can hold off/shield the ball, plus has good tekkers as well. Watch the compilation on him on Youtube. I pray Arsene gives him a chance. Charlton Fans are loving him at the moment and he has only played a handful of games.

Glory Hunter

It seems everyone likes Coq as long as its nowhere near the Arse 🙂

Henry! Chance!! Goal!!!

I don’t understand why the Coq has not been given a chance at the Arse.

santori

Difficult for Coq to break through at Arsenal.

Arteta and Flamini have more experience.

He’s had a number of loan spell but has failed to convince fully. Yet he is a competitive player with good attributes and at 23 may be time to further his career elsewhere.

Would prefer him to go to a good club after maybe another (more successful) loan spell personally. If he hits the heights, we could cull him back in at 24.

Depends on him at this point I suspect.

santori

Plus Chambers is also being groomed for DM possibility.

If we add a Cback in Jan, this may be the case with Arteta highly reliable but getting leggy with age.

Wayne King

I like Coq, he has a great tackle

renaissancerosicky

In out in out in out, and now unsure of whether he’s coming back in. That’s the story of our little coq.

Jokes apart, does any one know where he’s predominantly being played this season? I remember reading somewhere that it was on the left wing or something, or am I confusing this with something else?

False11

Defintely the best coq in the championship. Is it good enough for the Premier league though?

Podolski's Left Foot

FIFA 15 reckons he’s a left midfielder… Last time I checked a defensive mid and a left winger were vastly different positions?

I’m guessing he can do a job there…*runs away*

Merlin's Panini

Our Coq is good in all positions. He’s read the Karma Sutra of football manuals.

Merlin's Panini

I’d like to see Coq come back in the Arse. Semi seems to be having trouble getting in too. I guess he needs a bit of toughening up. Shouldn’t be too hard-on himself though.

Merlin's Panini

I think it’ll be spectacular when he finally arrives.

Tony g

Lol at everyone who thought he was shite!
