Zelalem’s Rangers loan move confirmed

Arsenal and Rangers have confirmed Gedion Zelalem’s loan move to the Scottish Championship side.

The 18 year old has joined until January, not on a season long deal as had previously been reported, and is eligible for their next game against Airdrieonians in the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday.

Speaking about the deal, Rangers manager Mark Warburton said, “It’s nice to have him on board and a lot of work has been done. I’m thankful to some really good people at Arsenal and the work done by people here at Rangers.

“There is no doubt he is a very talented young player and I’m sure he’ll have an impact for us.”

The two clubs may decide to extend the deal beyond January depending on how much playing time he’s getting and what impact he’s having.

Good luck to him there.

Less Rambly Pete

He does look a bit weedy in that picture, fingers crossed he’ll react positively to this move.

Good move for the lad. The Scottish Championship is very physical and this should toughen him up a bit. Hope he does well.

Like it or not, the physical side of the game is important and if nothing else it’s one thing he will learn during the loan. Certainly looks like he could do with building up his upper body strength. Good luck to him!
