Wenger prepared for Costa battle

After what happened at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, it’s fair to say Arsene Wenger will have warned his players not to take the bait sure to be dangled by Diego Costa.

The Chelsea striker was lucky to escape a red card for his antics that day, and contributed to the sending off of Gabriel, a decision which was overturned but too late for it not to have a significant effect on the day’s events.

Cleverly, the manager has made it a public issue, hoping that Sunday’s referee, Mark Clattenburg, will keep his eyes wide open.

“”We have to be prepared for a battle because Costa gives you a fight,” he said. “After that, it’s down to the referee.”

He also sent his team a message, telling them not to get drawn into the kind of niggling that Costa specialises in.

“We have to focus on our performance. It’s another game where people look at us and see how we behave.

“It will be an intense game, as usual in the Premier League. Overall, I think because of the qualities of the players on the pitch and what is at stake for both teams, it will be a very intense battle.”

That call for focus was echoed by the club’s leading scorer this season, Olivier Giroud. He told the official site, “The race is very tight because Leicester City and Manchester City will be fighting as well.

“We have a bit of an advantage over Manchester United and Tottenham at the moment but they could come back if you lose two games, you never know.

“It’s not original but it’s true that you always have to question yourself. I used to say that football is an everlasting new beginning and that’s like life too.

“Every week you have to push yourself out of your comfort zone to give your maximum so that you can win every possible game.”

Any update on Cunsta’s shin bruising from last weekend? Last time I heard he was a doubt

SB

I hope Flamini uses his experience to wind-up Costa and get him sent off with the first 3 mins, that would be justice!

Andy Mack

Unfortunately we have the same ref & linesmen as we had against West Brom.
The ones that gave them a free kick because Arteta was within a yard of one of their players, which they then scored from…
If Flamini looks at Cuntsta wrong then they’ll get a free kick and if he does it twice then Flamini will get a card….

Renzo

Pizza gate 2.0 anyone? That should keep their feistiness to a manageable level. Just saying

ciderman

Crush the scum

AntiSpud

Since that cunt is longer in charge I think however Costa may be a twat, the new manager will keep him in check. Hiddink is a decent man. This time I guess football will do the talking COYG

Dennis' left shinpad

Costa is a dirty fucking Chelsea snake with no regard for anyone except himself, Maureen or otherwise.

Mörezil

An efficient description of a bemusing man.

Harsh

Love Giroud’s attitude. One of the Best Arsenal players.

Papyrus

“football is an everlasting new beginning and that’s like life too”
Am struggling to find which Chelsea player can say such words … Really struggling!

Now, let’s smash ’em boys! COYG!
My wish? Paulista to be given some few minutes in the game. 😉 , no?

Arsene's zip

I’m struggling to see which Chelsea players could even read those words, let alone say them.

GoonerOfPuppets

Even I thought that Giroud could not have said that, it’s just blogs being mischievous again. I guess I am still not 100% certain that these are Giroud’s words, kind of like the latest south Park season. This site is making me doubt everything!

Dale Cooper

Is he back from injury in time for the game then? Good.

Rumpelstiltskin

I would love to see our lads swarming around them cunts every time any one of our players is fouled. We need to have a go at those bastards, it’s about time we got a revenge these blue orcs would remember forever.

Juan Cornetto

Yeah, I’d like to see the crowd all over that too. Look at the atmosphere at Stoke; those fans may well be an absolute disgrace but they make it an achievement for the away team to even get awarded a throw in.

Sideshow_bob

Ummm..wasn’t Costa injured? Apparently taken to the hospital after the match. How is he back so early?

Petits Handbag

Think he may be injured. Wouldn’t surprise me to seem them play Hazard as a lone front man and play for another 0-0.
Which is why its crucial we start in the same way as when we crushed United. Would love to see Alexis and Campbell on the wings and maybe even Theo up top. I’m no hater of Giroud it’s just in these games I think we need all the pace we can get.
Especially except that slippery sister riding pigrat John Terry.

Mesuit_assist

Hope Martin Keown and Steve Bull come out of retirement to deal with that cunt

BODMAS

ANOTHER TEST WE(ARSENAL) NEED TO PASS. PLAY SAFE FIRST OR ATTACK LIKE THE MAN U GAME. AS LONG WE GOT THE POINTS…

Zyrth

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?

Rufusstan

LOUD NOISES!

good ol' 1 nil to Woolwich

I was going to ask the very same question. We hear ya bro, no need to shout. Save that for match day… COYG

Crash Fistfight

Completely off-topic but I wanted to share something Theo Walcott says in an interview with the Sport magazine today, as I thought it was awesome when I read it (he’s talking about the game against Barcelona when he came on at 0-2 and turned the game around to make it 2-2): “One of my favourite memories is from the second leg at the Nou Camp. I did the press conference with the manager and met Messi at the top of the stairs, so I said hello. The manager came up to me afterwards and joked: “Theo, why did you not… Read more »

MannyG

Hate that prick. Imagine we had Vieira against those phoney.

Naija Gunner

We’ll be ready for the battle, bring those snake-racist cunt on… COYG!

Mark

Would love to see Gabriel get a chance in this match to play against Costa again.

ramgooner

I feel terry and Ivanovic are the type of cunts Costa can never be. Costa is just a petty cunt. But I despise ivanovic. Time after time he tried to injure our players. I hope we whoop their ass.

Arsene's zip

Terry is one of those people who I’m certain would be in prison if he hadn’t taken a career in football.

Runkeball

It’s very good of his dad to carry that load for him while he’s busy with football. There’ll be plenty of time for that once his career is over though.

rossi88

His mums a theif, his dads a drug dealer. He slept with a good freind and team mates wife. Hes been convicted of racially abusing a fellowing colleague, which was an internatoonal team mates brother. John Terry is a cunt. No matter how good he was, i have no respect for him as a person. When he retires i hope i never have to listen and/watch him on radio or the tele. No lets beat this shitty team.

Serpent

I thought the rules were that you had to be a Liverpool ex-player to get into punditry..?

Runkeball

Costa is a massive, MASSIVE cunt!

Michael

Let’s be honest, everyone connected with that awful little club is a massive, MASSIVE cunt, players, (ex) manager, and their chavvy oiks of supporters

Arsepedant

Chel$hit are a team of cunts, supported by cunts, owned by an oily cunt, captained by a racist cunt, with a striker whose degree of cuntery is so outlandishly huge that he can give lessons in being a cunt to that most massive of cunts, Jose Moronho. I hope we smash these cudfuckers so badly that they have points deducted. And please, can someone rip Costa’s balls off and stamp on them so hard that they surface in China?

CJ

can we hate Chel$hit without being misogynistic?

Arsepedant

The BBC did a Mythbuster article today on whether or not Diego Costa is a dirty player. Surprise, surprise – even when not considering the two retroactive three-match bans for incidents not witnessed by the referee, the myth was NOT busted. Diego Costa IS a dirty player.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35061044

Alexstratz

It’s always hard to play against a team fighting for relegation.

TeeCee

Nah, it’s the teams fighting to stay up you have to worry about.

With a bit of luck it’ll turn out that everything we’ve seen so far this season is actually a plan and Chelshit really are fighting *for* relegation. That way they’ll just turn up and take the 0 points they want from the game.

Skinnyarse

They will still cheat, because that’s how Chelsea play but hopefully our boys will stick to the game plan and score 4 goals with Elnenny adding a screamer from midfield, let’s beat these cheating scumbags!
