Video: Arsenal 3-1 Chivas Guadalajara highlights

Thanks to our pal Arsenalist, you can check out some highlights from last night’s 3-1 win over Chivas in LA.

The win made it two wins out of two on the US tour, and it must have been a fun game for so many of the Arsenal fans on that side of the Atlantic, many of whom were seeing the team play live for the very first time.

Rob Holding was very composed and hardly put a foot wrong. On the other hand, Chambers got burned bad once or twice. Don’t wanna rush Holding but he looks great so far.

The OX showed glimpses of his potential and had a great night.

I wanted Debuchy to play well after his assist. Was rooting for him to put all the BS behind him but he was pathetic towards the end and I think wanted to be sent off.

Walcot squandered 2 chances! Other than that, it was a good game

Clock-End Mike

I thought Walcott (sp!) looked fine and played well both in this game and the MLS All-Star game. He was active, chased back, made good runs, looks still a bit lacking in confidence (hardly surprising after the verbal pasting he’s he’s been getting here and elsewhere), and took two good shots in difficult snap situations, to both of which the ‘keeper made very good saves. If people here would just get off his back…

At this point you’re finding any excuse to single out Walcott. His chances were hardly squandered – in another match with another keeper he would have had at least one goal. Otherwise he played as hard as anyone else on the pitch and even showed some aggression on the defensive side.

Really hope that Oxlade-Chamberlain can carry on this form into to the season. Fans wanted him sold but I still know he can make it. Bayern Away 13/14, Man Utd Away 14/14, AC Milan Home 11/12 and Liverpool Home 13/14 to name some. This guy has unreal talent but as Wenger said just needs some confidence in himself to get there and of course those niggling injuries to go away. Seeing Ox perform like this and if he can I’m not sure we would need Mahrez as it might halt his development. All we need is Mustafi and Draxler/Lacazette and… Read more »

I know preseason is not the right barometer from which o judge players on….but I think that is more relevant if the players are not playing well. If a player is already playing well, it bodes well for the season. So I am not really worried in that aspect about the 3-4 mistakes the center half’s made. I thought debuchy played really well, especially going forward. May be he should stay until at least jenkinson gets better. But I predict a stellar season for the Ox. Not just because of his goals, he just looks hungry and confident and full… Read more »

We said the same thing last season.

Andy Mack

Santi is the player we missed most of all last season.
Lets hope he can stay fit in the coming season.

Vescucci

Encouraging match to be honest. I want us to dominate games like this all the time

Thaatarsenalguy

I now like the new 3rd kit.
I also hope the ox pulls his finger out and has a good season

RoDZz

That Ox goal though…

the only sam is nelson

Torres has a squad number of 297? Or is he just confused about whether he wants to play right back, up front or out wide?

Mark

Holding looked like he belongs again, though did have one horrific stray pass that led to a dangerous chance for Chivas. Chamberlin looked very good too. Will be interesting to see the lineup for the Liverpool match. If Wenger deploys Ramsey centrally I wonder whether he’ll go with Iwobi or Ox as the other wide player along with Sanchez (assuming Walcott up top until Giroud returns and Santi as the attacking mid). The rest was mostly about getting into shape. We played at a faster tempo (which of course was brought on the opponent playing faster than the MLS All-Stars… Read more »

I really want to like Akpom, but he is way too selfish and to the detriment of the team.

Goonie

Elneny had another excellent game. He should definitely start against Liverpool and Leicester.

That chance Chivas had on 30 mins is the kind of chance that annoys me most and reminds me of the ‘Denilson’ years.

Chambers lost the ball in midfield but rather than chase the ball back like his life depended on it ala Bellerin, you just seem him jog back at almost walking pace as the attackers run at our defense. Pre season or not it’s stuff like that which sets a bad tone and something which used to sum our club up during the dark times. Can’t be doing with a CB who does that
