Walcott suffers ‘mild’ knee injury

Arsenal have explained Theo Walcott’s absence from tonight’s Champions League clash with PSG.

The England winger has suffered a ‘mild knee’ injury according to the club’s official Twitter account:

Walcott had started all four of Arsenal’s games this season, but has had to sit out this one because of the problem. It remains to be seen quite how mild it is, but Arsene Wenger clearly wasn’t prepared to take any risks tonight.

The Gunners have a busy schedule in the coming weeks with Europe, the Premier League and the EFL Cup all on the horizon.

Bendtner's Ego

Ground hog day starts early this year.

Mark

Funeral Thursday.

BigDave

I hope the Ox has a good game in Theo’s replacement. In recent times it seems he only sparkles when he comes off the bench.

Third Plebeian

The Ox hasn’t sparkled in three years.

Third Plebeian

Sorry. It’s true.

Mark

Thankfully we have Iwobi back.

Merty BFG

Should have sold him when we had the chance..

Bob Davis

Who’s going to buy him? Everyone knows he’s shit.

FrankTheTank

And he is on world class player wages and a contract that last till summer 2019. So Walcott is going nowhere any time soon.

BromleyGooner

I’m not his biggest fan. But so far this season he has shown some heart. Let’s see how he fairs this season

Third Plebeian

Walcott: consistently injured and consistently inconsistent. Arsenal Football Club should do better than indulge (and significantly reward) players like this.

the only sam is nelson

whatever happened to “sign da ting” I wonder? Surely the people holding TW14’s future up as being a symbol of the decline, or resurgence, of the Arsenal back then can’t be the same people bemoaning his presence at the club now….

Kris

oi! sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn’t. Van Persie, Diaby??? Ain’t football one big fuc**** gamble eh?

Rich

Walcott is a complete waste of space.
Arsene says he’s a winger
Then he’s a striker because he’s not defensively sound enough to play wide.
Then he starts the first four games wide.
It’s completely mental.
I get that it’s difficult to get a really top striker, but there are a lot of wide forwards about who are vastly superior to Walcott.

chidi mbabie

Lay off the ox will you?

BromleyGooner

On what grounds?

Doctor Zhivagoat

Arsene “clearly not willing to take any risks tonight”???? Didn’t you see the starting lineup?

FrankTheTank

Well, it was only a question of time I guess.

richardanus

Danny that fire hydrant.

Sell the useless git.

richardanus

DAMN that fire hydrant…

(fucking spell checker)

Tommohobbo

And out for the customary “three weeks” I suppose

Bank of friendship

Hope he’s out for season.
Does fyck all anyway

Kris

And what gains are there for the club if Theo stays out injured for a season; from a footballing side of things of course. I don’t fuc**** understand how fans of any club would wish their players crooked and out for a season. That’s a weakness from a moral point of view. Beats me! Such fans need help. A shrink group perhaps?

you: “oi maite! my name is fucker”
them: “Hello fucker”
you: “I have a weakness; I hate footballers and i wish em dead”
them: “it’s alright fucker, that makes us a group, just let it out fucker”

Fucker!!!

Bank of friendship

Woo touched a nerve there.
You must have a big Theo poster on your bedroom wall.
When theos fit Wenger starts him when his form never deserves it.
