Akpom sidelined by suspected back fracture

According to the Independent, Chuba Akpom could be set for a prolonged period on the sidelines with a back problem, suspected to be a stress fracture.

The 21-year-old striker delivered an impressive performance on the left side of Arsenal’s attack in the 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the third round of the EFL Cup but could be out for the rest of the year.

Akpom, who spent last season on loan at Hull City, referenced the problem 10 days after his showing at the City Ground and hasn’t played any football since.

The late signing of Lucas Perez and Olivier Giroud’s late return from Euro 2016 meant Arsene Wenger opted to keep Akpom at the Emirates rather than send him on loan. The youngster, who enjoyed a prolific pre-season, will now hope to be fit by the new year so that he can garner more regular football in the second half of the season.

Youngsters these day should really learn to take care of their own body. Sheringham and cr7 may not be the most likable players, but they are complete professional when it comes to ensuring physical peak.

CR7 is also a massive prick

Ronaldinho was injured at the Euros in June and *just* returned. Ridiculous statement.

And his mate Ronaldo. Fecking iPhone autocorrect.

Get well soon AK! Proper Gooner and always puts in a shift when plays. Will be needing him should we go further in the League Cup. COYG!!!!

I once told Teddy Sheringham he was a poor man’s Bergkamp. He wasn’t pleased. He also has an enormous head. Anyway….

Hate to say it but I can’t see him making it at Arsenal at this stage. His best chance was probably early 2016 with Welbeck injured and Giroud and Walcott in horrible form I had hoped he could be our Rashford but for whatever reason it didn’t work. Best of luck to the lad

CAGrules

Who says Sh*ringham in polite conversation.

Get well soon

Arsenalfanman

Gutted for him. But with Welbeck coming back at around January as well I hope Akpom is fit enough by the transfer window so he can go somewhere and get some match fitness.
