Alexis Sanchez has backed Arsenal to go the distance this season due to the quality of the squad, and that his relationship with Mesut Ozil is making him a better player.
The club’s two major stars have forged a fine understanding which is blooming this season, as they turn provider for each other, and the Chilean has revealed he feels very much on the same wavelength as the German playmaker.
“I get on the best with Ozil,” he said. “I enjoy playing with everyone but I get on even better with him. We don’t need to say anything to each other, it just takes a glance.
“Having a player like Ozil in midfield and doing one-twos with him is fantastic because he is a quality player going forward. He helps me and also makes me improve.”
The Gunners face a real test of their title credentials at Old Trafford tomorrow, and while Sanchez was not getting carried away, he is seeing positive signs from the team’s performances this season.
“We’re playing with a mentality that we want to win everything and become champions,” he continued.
“We are taking it step by step in terms of our fixtures and ambition but we are not conceding many goals. That is a good place to be.
“We have more desire to achieve something big by winning the Premier League. We have a great side, we are very ambitious and we want to win the title.”
Let’s hope he can pick up where he left off in midweek against United tomorrow.

First interview I’ve read that has made me feel more confident of him signing the contract. Especially if we get Ozil tied down, and that one looks close. Hopefully a nice domino effect.
Fingers crossed for Saturday. He and Theo did cruel, horrible things to that back line at the Emirates last year. On that day they played like an away time, not fussing about possession, getting from back to front quickly and staying solid at the back. Let’s hope for the same again.
