Ozil urges Gunners to repeat Chelsea performance

Mesut Ozil says that Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Chelsea in September (Costa hahaha) should be the blueprint for when the Gunners face the big sides in the Premier League this season.

With a trip to Old Trafford tomorrow, we face stiff opposition, a ground we haven’t won at in the league since 2006, and with Arsene Wenger still looking for a first Premier League victory over Jose Mourinho.

Speaking to the official site about this game and Arsenal’s title chances this season, the German playmaker highlighted that convincing win over Antonio Conte’s side as a positive sign.

“We need to] win every game, get as many points as possible and also be successful against the big teams, like we were against Chelsea,” he said.

“We have the quality to beat any team and that’s what we want to show this season. You can see that the big clubs at the top have quality, and that we have to win every game because of how tight it is at the top.

“Our goal has to be to look at ourselves. If we win the games, we’ll be at the top at the end.”

Ozil goes into this game refreshed, having had the Interlull off, so hopefully he can be the man to pull the strings tomorrow.

i dont understand why we going into this game so tensed. lemme tell you guys this manu is no better than a west brom side, so treat them as west brom equivalent. this hype just doesnt help us

It’s a chain effect I think. The fact that we haven’t beaten them there since 2006 and it’s a Mourinho team (ugghh) causes fans (and probably players) to be extra desperate to finally give them a good hammering and then the defence goes out the window and they score the first goal and we’re like ‘well shit’ and start throwing even more players forward and suddenly it’s 6-0.

First goal is gonna be absolutely crucial COYG

Arsenal vs Manure is a major rivalry.
When it comes to derbies and rivalries, you don’t look at stats and form.
If you do that, you’ve lost

Let not be tensed with this game. When we get tensed its when we loose. Take it easy and tear them apart.

Gunning for glory

I dont like it when ozil talks before a big game. Do your talking on the field.

I feel you’re imagining this…
Ozil to interviewer: We need to make Chelsea game the blueprint, blah blah.
Interviewer: Why are you telling me this, without me asking you a question? Who are you talking to? Do your talking on the pitch, son. Don’t talk to me.

It will be mostly the same players as one year ago when we destroyed them. 3 up in 20 minutes and coasted home. Just watched it again on Arsenal.com. OK we are not at home. Yes it is a big deal, but they are no better than they were under Van Gaal.

This would be a great chance to break the hoodoo against Maureen because he’s a twat. It has to end sometime. Why not now?

Let’s do this!!!!!!!!!!

Would love to see a Xhaka-boom to win it late or a comfortable 5-0 thrashing. Either way I’m good 🙂

5-0 wins, make manure a mid-table team, kick mourinhou back to portugal, kill two birds with one stone..

Just put the running in, Keep our concentration and enjoy it because they don’t have anything on us. They will have a makeshift defence, my only sad point is their fat lumbering strikers in Rooney and Ibra are done, so they will HAVE to deploy pace.
