Wenger confirms four week Bellerin absence

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Hector Bellerin will miss four weeks with an ankle injury.

The Spaniard picked up the knock late in the game against Sp*rs earlier this month, thanks to a tackle from that massive gimp Danny Rose.

Speaking at his press conference today the manager confirmed that one of the team’s most important players was going to be out until well into December.

“Hector is out for about four weeks,” he said. “He was injured in the last 10 seconds against Spurs from a very strong tackle from Rose.”

So, another reason to dislike Danny Rose, as if we needed one. With Mathieu Debuchy still recovering from a calf injury, it looks as if Carl Jenkinson will make his first appearance at Old Trafford since the 8-2 when he was sent off.

Let’s hope he has a significantly better day on Saturday.

I feel sorry for debuchy?

No Way, Jose

Hey Mathieu

Marshall

Think I’d rather Holding there or Coq if he won’t be playing in the middle

DustyGooner

I think you’ve been hitting the pipe again Marshall.

Benkamp

Holding yes, coquelin was never great there though, hes played there, but not very effectively. I think jenko is the man, hes not even slightly the player he was back in the 8-2. He has played a decent amount of top flight games since, hes going to show his ability in the coming weeks im sure. Now watch as he gets a straight red and a broken neck whilst scoring an own goal with his bollocks while rupturing his phallus on mourinhos cunt chops.

Hector Bergkamp

You’d rather be Holding Coq?

Serpent

I hope Jenks will step up and I much prefer him to both Holding and Coquelin (who we really need in the middle to sit firmly on Pogba). As long as Jenkinsson is solid defensively I don’t think we’ll be in much trouble on that side of the pitch.

saps

Gut feeling we see Maitland-Niles at RB on Saturday.
Where did that come from, eh?

I hate sp*rs!

Everybody does

I bet Trump’s a Sp*rs supporter!

Wenger's Medulla Oblongata

Trump is a massive Sp*r

One thing is to get injured, but to get injured by a player as shit as D*nny R*se adds insult to injury.

Post January Blip

Massive blow to lose our spockney whiz kid. We’ve had members of the squad talking about competition and strength in depth. Now’s the time to show what we’re made of.

Over to you Corporal Jenks!

toptopgun

Corporal Jenkinson deserves his chance. No better time that Saturday to show how he has improved. His crossing has always been awesome and if Alexis is not fit, I am sure Giroud will appreciate his crosses.

Anyhow get well soon Hector

Ed Avern

We were never going to get through the whole season with Bellerin playing every game. Sucks that it happened ahead of such an important week, but that’s what squad depth is for. Jenks, step on up, please!

Alexis The Beast Of London

Hope Jenko takes his chance.

Belfast Gooner

I was sitting in the office trying to watch the Press Conference on my phone on the quiet. When Wenger said Hector is out for 4 weeks my natural reaction was to shout ‘F!”k sake’ I got a couple of funny looks to say the least! Hopefully Jenko can step up to cover until Hector is fit again.

Gunner73

Jenks will be alright, Theo is defending much better this year too. If the Ox starts in font of him then I would be worried.

LEFT08

Cover is key. If Walcott plays well in this respect, there’s a good chance Jenkinson will do well too.

GunnerDareMacedonia

Walcott may miss the game also as report says. His wife is in labor.

An Ox-sized Coq

Shockingly enough, it seems Ox plays his best with Jenks behind him…still want Theo to start though.

MrBrain + Ozil's vision

Hector will be a big miss… His impacts in big games for us is massive. I recall how he uses his pace to a great effect by tracking back, cover and make great tackles when both Mustafi and Koscielny were both out of position against Chelsea. I could also recall last year against Bayern where he attacks with lightening pace and sets up Özil for his goal at the Emirates. He’s immense at what he does for us, he tackles well, positionally astute and doubles up as a right winger to a great effect. I just hope Jenko can fill… Read more »

I was hoping the 4 week recovery included the international break but it doesn’t seem to be 🙁

baz00r

I would go with Giroud up front, play Sanchez on the right, to provide extra cover for Jenks. Monreal is more secure and game ready then Jenks so he could probably get away with Iwobi or Walcott on the left. Coq/Elneny in the centre with Ozil in front and I think we have a chance.

Always a Gunner

Why will sanchez pay on the right even if he is played wide. Theo is defending better and he will give cover to Jenks.

Danny Rose is a cunt.

Crash Fistfight

Indeed, he is a cunt of the highest order. He makes it much easier to despise Sp*rs (along with Dier and Vertonghen – 2 people whose faces are enough to make you want to punch them).

PFo

A shout for cuntiest player in the prem at the moment? I know people will point to Terry, but he’s got one foot in the retirement home at this point. There’s also Diego Costa, but while his performance against us last year when he got Gabriel sent off has to go down as the cuntiest single game performance I’ve ever seen (and the worst refereeing display), he’s such a pantomime villain that I actually kinda enjoy watching his ridiculous antics against other teams, whereas I always want to punch Rose in the face, regardless of who he’s playing against.

kaius

We can’t approach the next month as if Corporal Jenkinson can do everything Hector can do. That means our CM’s have to take responsibility for the buildup play and ease the workload on our full-backs. We lost our opening game of the season because we were too slow to adjust to Liverpool pressing us in wide areas. As far as I’m concerned Hector’s not just our 1st choice first-choice RB, he’s our 2nd goalkeeper and 3rd playmaker. He’s the most effective at stopping counter-attacking goals when we’re in the opponent’s half. And the outlet pass from Mustafi to Bellerin is… Read more »

Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit shit! I don’t know what else to say.

Fuhgedaboudit

I really love Jenkinson’s love for Arsenal. Would really love to see him step up, but has huge shoes to fill with Bellerin’s absence.

Javi

Captain Jenko will step in, and the midfield will have Coq and Xhaka to reinforce the defensive side of the same. Injuries have often the ladder for many players that were waiting for their chance and I hope Jenko grabs opportunity with both hands.
Bigger worry should be Hector coming back and struggling for form and fitness over 2 months.

santori

Jenkinson is very limited technically. But where he misses in terms of ability he does cover for effort. In a sense Debuchy is the better player but we’re just not quite sure where his head is these days forget the calves plus without regular football and getting older, there are huge question marks. What we will miss is the width that Bellerin provides for us going forward. In a sense, we may benefit from a more traditional winger to make up. Either of Walcott or the Ox will not only have to play slightly wider but also be very diligent… Read more »

Don’t get me wrong, I love our Coq. But am I the only one who wants to see a Xhaka-Ramsey partnership for this game? ManU has been anything but convincing going forward this season, and they’ve struggled with their defensive organization (which is atypical for The Cunt’s teams). I rather like how we’ve become more deliberate and pragmatic in big games on the road, absorbing pressure and looking to catch teams on the break. And any other time, I’d be all in favor of continuing what has proven to be a fairly successful change in tactics on the road. But… Read more »

Wenger's Medulla Oblongata

If Xhaka is truly a younger faster Arteta and Wenger bought him to partner Rambo long term, there might not be a better time to go retro circa 2013/4. If Sanchez is not 100% and doesn’t drop deep to create space for the wingers and Ozil to exploit, then the foil could be Rambo storming into the box late to score a goal. I love me some Rambo in his preferred position and on form!
