Mesut Ozil back in training ahead of Huddersfield clash

Mesut Ozil returned to training today after illness kept him out of Sunday’s 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Gunners missed the German’s creativity against the Clarets, and now Arsene Wenger has to decide whether to involve him tomorrow night, or keep him fresh for the weekend when Man Utd come to town.

The Arsenal manager insisted he was focusing completely on the Huddersfield game, saying, “It’s a massive game for me because I watched their game against City, they didn’t deserve to lose.

“This team has come out from hell, you have to play 46 games in the Championship to get out of it, and you need to be ready for a fight.

“With all the teams that come up, you realise that especially in the first season they have that kind of fighting spirit that makes them dangerous for every Premier League side, no matter what kind of names you have on the teamsheet.”

It would still be a surprise if there wasn’t a little bit of rotation, however, and it’s down to Wenger to find the right balance and ensure our excellent home record stays intact this week.

Theo Walcott also returned to training.

Theo and Ozil back. Happy days. Only Santi to go.

Walcott??….oh yeah, I remember him.

No fear…. Theo returns to the bench ? He’s currently experiencing the biggest dilemma of his career. It’s contract renewal time his options aren’t great. Option #1 Play good for 10-15 games in order to get a new toaster+contract.. but with the risk of getting picked for the World Cup and not being able to take the summer off to write children’s books Option #2 Stay hiding in the background stealing a living in the hope of avoiding the World Cup… but the risks of having to move clubs and actually play football seems very real and rather scary, particularly… Read more »

Would like to see a little bit of rotation. Start Wilshere & bring on Ozil for the last 10-15
Elneny instead of Xhaka
Merts instead of Mustafi. any other defender instead of Kos (don’t want those Achilles to snap)

Martin

Elneny instead of Xhaka? ?????

ronaldo

we never missed him at burnley, we are better without him

Martin

Of course we missed him at Burnley. Why don’t you appreciate the player who has created more chances and assists than any other player in the Premiership?

Really cant wait for the WC to commence. Cant wait for Ozil to show his stuff once more at a major International tournament. Cant wait for all the cundits, as well as fans, who have been running him down to swallow back all the terrible shit thay have been producing about Ozil. I wont be surprise he end the WC with a medal, probably a winning one. But sadly and unfortunately he will report back to a club as a WC winner. But the club, most likely wo t be Arsenal. All these negativities are main reason driving him away… Read more »

You play as the main 11 in a WC winning team and theae haters kept saying he is not good enough. Jealousy of his skills, plain amd simple.

Is Walcott still here? I hope Raul’s inbox on his arrival will include a message to get him sold ASAP…if it isn.t already done by then.
I will vomit bucket loads if I hear how we couldn.t afford to lose 3 world class talents in the summer as his contract renewal is announced.
Theo out
