Arsenal 3-1 Burnley – player ratings

Arsenal got back to winning ways with a 3-1 defeat of Burnley at the Emirates this afternoon. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice, and although the visitors pulled one back, Alex Iwobi’s late strike clinched the three points.

Why do these small teams all have such c*nts playing for them?
Sp*rs have Alli, Burnley have Barnes, etc…

Bob

And in a few years Burnley will probably have both of them

Anonymarse

Everybody who plays for sp*rs is a c*nt

Ebo

Because PL culture and officiating is unfortunately still such that if you can’t afford good players, having a few lousy players who are c*nts will help you win more than a squad of lousy players who aren’t c*nts

Gs1414

The typical copy paste error. Been there.

Jack

0/10 for Dyche’s post match interview too. What a sore, bitter loser

Twatsloch

He’ll have the pleasure of facing his fans when his team goes out of the Premier League this season.

don't forget

6.5 for Ozil… ok lol

Billy Bob

What happened to sokratis’s rating? Or is it just my mobile not showing it? Anyway, I think we are starting to see how this team could shape up but injuries are not helping at the moment!!!

Nikhil

Sorry for being pedantic but I think the description under Iwobi is wrong. We lost against Chelsea, didn’t we?

theLowCrows

Well at least you didn’t rate Ramsey. ?

Wandsworthgooner

The fact you get involved in the comments and fix all the mistakes is quality though. 8.5/10 ?

crapaud

10/10 to see Sean Dyche so pissed off at the end, I can imagine him seething over this loss with best mate Tony Pulis. How they got away with only 5 yellow cards – at least weve got a couple of players willing to give as good as they get (loved Papa’s wrestle with some cunt on the touchline).

Paul Smith

I thought Elneny was better than Guendouzi today. Thought Guendouzi gave the ball away cheaply too often and slowed things down at times. Has huge potential and a big future but thought he was below par today. Sokratis outstanding and how Barnes wasn’t sent off is beyond me….someone wants to get Mr Friend a set of balls for Christmas…the bollockless twat lacked the stones to send that limbering shite off. Nice finish from Iwobi too….good composure

hesgotyellowbootson

I didn’t think Elneny was too bad either (except when he got caught out), he’s a tidy player. I felt bad for him because it seemed like a lot of people behind me in the east stand were moaning and groaning every time he was on the ball and giving him a fair bit of abuse. Think guendouzi has definitely got potential too but maybe he needs a bit of a rest

Nedim

Must be the same haircut because that’s excatly what Elneny did. Sold some balls in very dangerous areas which opened up counters for Burnley. Sorry mate you got this one wrong

scott rice

Don’t forget Elneny sorted out Ozil’s predictably soft attempt at a tackle on the edge of our box. I thought Elneny did well. He was strong enough to stop Burnley taking advantage on this occasion and at the same time he did a tidy pass to Guendouzi in the move that led to our second goal.

This is what should be expected of Ozil,a proper 7/10 performance. He wasn’t great, he wasn’t bad, he was just good and this should be what we consider a good game, not that miracle performance against Leicester where everything came off for him. If you expect the Leicester performance every week, he will forever be a disappointment to you.

A Different George

I agree that we can’t expect Leicester every week, but Ozil was much better today than just “good.” He was good most of the time, with periods of brilliance. He made the whole attack more coherent–Kolasinac’s runs threatened results, Lacazette was able to combine with his friend Aubameyang, everything comes together. He changes the way defenders have to play against our attackers because of the threat he poses.

Mpls

And that pass to Kolasinac for Auba’s first, and the saunter into the box to set up Auba on his 2nd, class.

Irrational Gunner

Would love to have heard what Emery said to Dyche. Maybe something like “your team plays as ugly as you are”. (Anyway, tried to spare the really rude ones I was thinking of.)

Love this win, but the return match may turn out to be a real slugfest.

Pakgooner

“Good afternoon Mr. Dyke your team plays as ugly as you are. It’s a process”

High gooner

hahahahah how can anyone dislike your comment.. good evening pakgooner

A Different George

Good afternoon, in our moments we have made the result that was very good.

BidOnLard

Go join stoke next year, ya testicle headed twat and take those imbred tools down with ya.

Handbrakes

“You can’t do that here anymore, those days are over”

Mpls

“His name is Sokratis. You can’t afford him.”

Tarsenal

Xhaka is blog’s new Ramsey 😉

hesgotyellowbootson

Are you surprised he didn’t make an appearance today? Thought he would’ve been useful, especially after we conceded

Crash Fistfight

I thought so too. Would’ve brought him on for Guendouzi, myself.

Mpls

We won with Guendouzi. Plenty more football in a short span, and we didn’t need another striker on. Ramsey is not a deep midfielder. I really dig that Emery recognizes this.

Besides, he and Ozil are oil and water. They’re 100% either-or for me.

Cyprus The Immortal Gooner

Yeap! His passing at times gets us into so much trouble. Today it was 3-4 times where he passed the ball into opposition in a dangerous area…

Grumbleduke

Sean Dyche can take his team of cavemen off for their Christmas dinner of crayons. Barnes thinks the orange ones are tastiest.

Wolf

Will never forget the red card and 7-match ban Barnes received a few years ago for deliberately tripping a referee. Out of sheer petulance/stupidity/thuggishness.

Ronny

I think Ozil did better than a 7.5. He ran (not jogged) a lot today and was really good going forward. Being given a free roaming role brings out his best. Hope it sustains like this.

onenil

Before today I did no opinion of Burnley. Now I know they are a bunch of c**ts
Sent out there to do a job on Arsenal by kicking us off the park. I’m pleased we don’t take that shit anymore. But to see Dyche whinging, claims of diving and deserved ‘something from the game’ turns my stomach. Especially when the narrative is supported by idiots at Sky.
Hope Burnley get relegated

scott rice

I agree. I thought Burnley were lucky not to receive red cards.

Mark

Interesting to see how upset Lacazette was when taken off. I know he has to be frustrated not playing very much and I think he deserves to be in the lineup with Auba as he was today.

Mpls

I think he wants some more goals on his tally.

IceBerg10

Aubameyang didn’t shin the first….he cuts across the ball and placed it into the far corner, very clever finishing.

A Different George

It looked like a very deliberate touch from the outside of his boot.

afan

ozil, 4 out of ten

Reincheque

Kola and Sokratis had superb games. Guendouzi had a torrid afternoon but did well IMO. Great goals from Auba. Great contributions from Özil. Lead at half time. Win at full-time. Most satisfactory!

GraeB

Strange, winning at half time actually led to a poorer second half (after early goal) than of late.

afan

ozil did nothing for ninety minutes against 2nd from bottom burnley, at home, it was a poor, poor performance by him, he is absolute rubbish, we might aswell play with ten men

arsepedant

I’ve always wondered why you haven’t banned this dumb cunt, but now I realize it’s more fun just to point out what a dumb cunt he is.

ThunderDownUnder

This is an underrated comment.

Goonaus

Oh my that is brilliant

Bob

Blogs telling it like it is?

Anshul

Kolasinac was probably one of the best players on the field tonight! He is such a threat on that left side!

TheCockneyCatalan

Which is lucky considering Nacho could be out injured

Roy

Thought Torriera was sent on to pick up a deliberate yellow so that he can have a nice Christmas off and then be ready for Liverpool. If we risk playing him against B&H Albion and he gets a yellow there, I can’t imagine us playing without him against pool. Also, a few negative comments against Guendouzi, remember he is only 19 and better things to come. Shout out to Papa who is proving ealry season crirics wrong. We needee someone like him since forever.

arsepedant

I don’t know if I would risk Torreira against Brighton. We need him desperately against Liverpoop.

SFGiants

Now that Mourinho is gone, Sam Dyche is clearly the number 1 coach to hate.

GraeB

From the team that was quite reasonable 2 years ago (winning opening game at Chelski as I recall) he has now reverted to become the New Stoke and emulating Pulis in his post match comments.

Clock-End Mike

Yes, well, someone had to take over Pulis’s mantle as the biggest whinger in the PL. Dyche is giving it a good go, at any rate.

Samgunz

Hmm how many times did xhaka give the ball away in bad areas though? 4 or 5 no? Cork ran the midfield but tired luckily, guendouzi loooked better after his yellow, not sure why elneny went off and he didn’t but he improved in the last half hr, toreirra looked a bit off the pace but eventually got in the groove, full backs were awesome today, ainsley reminds me of a young Kolo, so much composure.

Afoly

Top four still the target

Ashley Stackhouse

I was really impressed with AMN’s performance today. Made a point of watching him for a prolonged period of time at the game. His discipline, speed on the ball and recovery runs were welcome. Clive over on Arsenal vision had it right, we may have our James Milner; and I’m okay with that

Santori

Gritty performance today. We dropped second half after our second goal and some very iffy moments against a team trying to unsettle us with obvious rough house tactics not dealt with sufficiently by the Ref. Critical win to get back on track and stay in touch with the chase for CL spot. 1) Leno – Came out several times decisively to claim the ball. They press us high so he went long on goal kicks several times but felt we were just playing the ball back to them bc of this and we may have had to work our way… Read more »

Gervinho

It’s so fun to point and laugh at Sean Dyche. The only problem is it’s too easy…his tie is always 3 inches too short which is like a 25% error, given his body height.

SFGiants

Trump probably took at least 3 inches from him.

Goonaus

Long time reader, first time commenting…
Loved that we started auba, laca and ozil up front, thought they worked well together. Got a bit of a man crush on papa, he’s just no fuss. And how good has kolasinac been lately! Would have liked to see Ramsey get a run at some stage too, but all in all solid enough performance. 3 points against Brighton and I think we can definitely get at least a point against liverpool!
COYG

Elcamino

I guess its a dive when some cund knees you in the back. Why no red card when someone stamped on Guenduzis stomach?

Sokrates was motm for me…hes the only real defender we have.

Calm

COYG

Friendly Neighborhood Gooner

Worried about Monreal. The G.O.A.T was superb in calming our defence and making crucial interventions before he went off injured. Should we dig into the transfer market? Also, the number of ref decisions going against us this season is unusually high!
