Finally a bit of faith in Elneny! I’m glad he has the sense to rest Torreira, but holy sh*t he better not start and get booked against Brighton
Or better yet, hopefully Torreira comes on later in the game when things are done and dusted and picks up a cynical yellow. He’s not used to playing games over the Christmas period so it’ll give him a good rest to miss Brighton and be fresh and ready for pool!

I think it’s gonna be a midfield diamond with the full backs pushed up high. Elneny and Guendouzi shuttling up and down, flanking Xhaka who will distribute from deep. This might be a good formation.

Oh yes. This is his opportunity to shine for the new boss. I’m hoping to see more of him, though I’d prefer him in midfield. Our other alternative there at RB is Carl Jenkinson and I don’t know if he’ll be good enough at this level. Wouldn’t mind seeing a bit of Jenks, got a soft spot for him heh.
Good to see the youngster, Saka, getting in the match day squad.
I hope he gets a run out in the last 10-15 mins if we’re leading. He looks a decent talent and would give us width which we lack.

At least Emery isn’t predictable. Ozil as captain is interesting after not playing and/or not starting in so many games lately. Glad Elneny is getting a run.
