Arsenal Women Confirm Pre-Season Friendly With Sp*rs

Arsenal Women have confirmed that they will play Tottenham Hotspur Women in a pre-season friendly at Boreham Wood as part of their preparations for the new season, which begins on Sunday, 8th September.

The match will take place on Sunday, 25th August at 2pm at Meadow Park. Tickets are available online now at 7 pounds for adults and 3 pounds fifty for concessions if bought now. Otherwise, tickets will be 15 pounds on the day and ten pounds for adults (I am working on an iPad that doesn’t have the symbol for GBPS so, yeah, sorry about that).

The last time the teams met, the Gunners absolutely trounced their neighbours 10-0 in the FA Cup in March 2017. Spurs have progressed significantly since then and have been promoted to the WSL for the 2019-20 season. You never know, if demand is good for tickets, a WSL game at the Emirates could be in the offing for the new season!

The girls will also take part in the Emirates Cup with a prestige friendly against Bayern Munich Frauen on July 28th at Emirates Stadium. They will also play German champions Wolfsburg behind closed doors in Austria on August 7th.

The Women’s World Cup begins today and there is plenty of Arsenal involvement:

Jen Beattie, Kim Little and Lisa Evans (Scotland)
Leah Williamson and Beth Mead (England)
Daniëlle van de Donk, Vivianne Miedema and Jill Roord (Netherlands)
Pauline Peyraud-Magnin (France)
Leonie Maier (Germany)
