It’s a North London derby as we take on Sp*rs at the Emirates this afternoon.

We need three points to take us into the Interlull, here’s the team Unai Emery has picked to do that.

Arsenal: Leno, Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Luiz, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Torreira, Guendouzi, Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang.

Subs: Martinez, Chambers, Willock, Ceballos, Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Nelson

Sp*rs: To follow

I dont rate Emery as a manger but I rate our players. Why not Ozil or Cab instead of Xhaka??

I suppose to be fair it’s a bit of a halfway house between setting up really defensive with two strikers and throwing caution to the wind with 2 DMs and 4 attackers

No point setting up defensively because we have conceded 2 at home. Xhaka is not Arsenal quality neither is Emery

Pepe for auba, auba for Lacazette, and Lacazette for Pepe. The other four will all be from defensive errors.

Brave man dropping Ceballos

Fans are going to rip into him if we don’t win.

I thought he was going to drop Guendouzi.
But at least we have our front 3 from the start.

Shame he is starting Xhaka, would much rather he didn’t start and Ozil or Ceballos play ahead of two holding midfielders. Our team and squad I Believe is now better than the scum. Emery is the weak link now. Still think we will win today if he doesn’t have Pepe and Aubameyang playing like wing backs.

Fully agree, he shat his pants again, spuds have a more adventurous lineup than us with 4 attacking players vs our 3. Even sissoko as a CM is more attack minded than any of our three.

Really thought we would go for it but I guess Emery will always be a conservative coach/person and never fully go for it.

That midfield is dead. Never creates anything. We’re gonna struggle to even get the ball to the front 3 as usual now that genius Emery has picked Tweedle D and Tweedle Dumb. I hope I’m wrong!

Been super confident all week about this match, I went and put 200 on an Arsenal win. Seen the lineups, and Son and Ericsen starting has made me bloody nervous.

Spurs will look at our back line and be confident that they’ll get chances, our midfield 3 aren’t the most creative, we’ll be reliant on the efficiency of our front 3, and effectiveness of our full backs going forward today, can’t see much coming down the middle from us.

Bit confused. Three up front. Plus three defensive midfielders.

Who’s pulling the strings in midfield?
Who’s bridging the gap between defensive midfield and our front three?
Creative midfield?

Four at the back I understand. Just not what’s in front of them.

Emery’s hard on for Xhaka aside, and the big worry that is a back four with Kolasinac, Sokratis and David Luiz, a solid enough lineup. We’ll be sure to concede a few but you’d back us to score 3 too.

Ourchildrensworld

Big game needed from Guendouzi.

Sp*rs have a very mobile, athletic midfield. Who in our midfield picks up the ball and drives forward with Ceballos and Willock benched?

Richie

Ceballos will be on at half time if we’re losing.

Xhaka to give away the ball while we are dominating the game and concede a goal on the counter attack. How is he still not sold yet ? He is the weakest link in this line up.

this is the lineup i wanted to see vs liverpool, 3 more defensive minded mids to let the front 3 do their stuff.

hopefully ceballos, willock and ozil can come on to do some stuff later on.

Looks like we’re “doing a Liverpool”, 3 solid and somewhat defensive midfielders supporting an aggressively attacking front 3. Surprised Ceballos isn’t starting but let’s see what they can do!

Great front line but the amateur defence has once again let us down.
Arsenal’s defence is so poor – it is beyond bad and Luiz was never going to be the answer.
Its going to ruin our season once again…

Judging by the first 15 minutes we need to take off Xhaka for a creative link up midfielder and chambers should be playing instead of Luiz!!! I now have a bad feeling about this match ?

Seriously, why do you believe Holding is our savior? He played less than 15 games last season and yes he was impressive, but our defense was still shit!! Before last season, he was a backup!! He’s still only 22 or 23. Why do you seriously believe that our defensive problems are down to individuals players and not the coaching?
Our defense has been shit regardless of personnel since last season

Our problems start straight from the midfield. How do you play 3 defensive mids and still have so much space between them? Xhaka is NOT a DM. Play him in front of Torreira

Could have been 2-0 down . Arsenal are making it easy for spurs with their laborious build up.They take an age to get going.
Where was the marking when the Dane scored with acres of space?
The gunners need to speed up the attack and stop the slow build up like Wenger. If they aint careful another goal will be curtains.

This is what happens when you go up against a top four team.
Especially when you have a manager who can never seem to get the tactics right.
Xhaka starting every game?
No creative central midfielder when playing at home?
Far too negative…
And now we are wo down

I guess I was among the strongest of Xhaka supporters. From a supporter’s point of view , may be he was trying to make the team feel more embarrassed by going 2 down against this fuckkng spuds..and then they wake up, score a goal just before the break like Sagna did a couple of years back…and it kinda worked..

Seriously.. What the fuck was he thinking..
