Wow! handbrakes are off!

Funsho Patrick

Finally!

Lee

He can see the light

Jules

Wow! Thats our best 11 players arguably out there together. Attacking 433, I like that. I’m excited! COYG!

Azeez Is Good

Yes. The absolute dream team. So much of the performance falls on Partey’s shoulders. He needs to be amazing with attacking minded ESR and Odegaard in there with him.

Love the line up. But it’s way more attacking that I expected. I hope Mikel has thought this through. Let’s see how it goes!

COYG!!!

PEA14

Share the same sentiment. Lets hope we get a win and show we are no softies

Rich

Josh Kroenke did tell us to “Be Excited”

Kunz

That’s true😃

Viju Jacob

BBC shows it as 4-1-4-1 formation with Partey as a single pivot. Don’t know if it’s wise to put that load on him so soon after his return from injury, going by what happened last season. Let’s hope he gets through the 90mins unscathed

Pat Rice and Beans

I think it’s more a 4-1-4-1 formation, but it’s our best players indeed. Let’s go!

truj

This line up with a proper manager is top4 material for sure.

Tomaury Bischfeld

If you can’t even be excited by a full strength squad playing in an attacking formation, why do you still watch football? So much entitled moaning about Arteta, it stinks.

Kunz

No its not. Its more a top 6 with alot of luck.

Paul

Decent! COYG!

Thierry Bergkamp (non negotiable)

Absolutely love this lineup!!!!
Let’s take it to Burnley!!

Baichung Bhutia

Yes love this line up. Let’s smash Burnley

Abhi

Holy 4-3-3

VAR will solve all the problems

Holy Trinity of Partey – ESR – MØ in midfield!

Nzini

That’s actually blasphemous

Futsboller

Now that is trying to change the narrative. Love it whether it is a 4141 or 433 or whatever — aggressive, offensive. Perfect. Well done, MA.

Bergkamp 3:16

This

Rich

We play 2-3-4-1 in possession, and 4-5-1 out of possession

Xhaka usually tucks in behind Tierney, but I suspect Tierney won’t kick on quite as much today, and will sit a little deeper, so we can accommodate another attacking player

This will be our shape in possession:

…..……Ramsdale
…….…White Gabriel
Tomiyasu Partey Tierney
…..Odegaard Smith Rowe
….Pepe ………..Saka
……….….Aubameyang

Unless we move Tomiyasu central to deal with the aerial threat of Burnley

Red-Wing

Brave!

COYG!

David C

BBC shows it as a 4-1-4-1 with Partey as holding mid. Kind of like how Leeds line up.

I like it, let’s go Gunners!!!!

Jules

Nah those guys never know what they’re talking about. Always make little mistakes like showing Gabriel on the right and white on the left. I’d wager on a 433 arteta’s preferred formation, but who knows. Could easily look like a 4141 as well tbh

Daveo

Bit harsh on sambi (he’s earned his place as much as anyone), but still like the intent here. Very interested to see if Odegaard/esr as essentially #8/#10 hybrids can provide enough connection between defense and attack and lado the necessary defensive protection. Definitely a fun lineup.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Sambi being saved for Wimbledon.

Johan

I reckon Sambi will be replacing Partey at some point, who likely won’t last the full 90 min.

Daveo

I hope they get to play together at some point. I see them as being an absolute dominant force in midfield that could totally change the narrative of this whole team (and saw Burnley as the perfect chance to assert that). Oh well, I like this team too as long as marty and ESR put in shifts on defence too.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

If BBC say it’s a 4-1-4-1, then it’s a 4-3-3.

Atom

It seems Arteta has finally figured out we need to score to win – hopefully rewarded for positive intent

Man Manny

Great line up, strong bench.
We should win this.
COYG.
This window wasn’t bad, all things considered.

Russ

Love it!

Jorin

Me likey! Let’s crush em.

Cranky Colin

I’m shit scared

Tombo

Been wanting this line up, odegard in the deeper lying 8 role with movement ahead

K9ine

A win is all I need. Kindly oblige

Anthony

Really like the look of this line up.

It’s young and feels really fresh.

Tanned arse

The best eleven players in their respective positions at the club. Four midfields who are comfortable passing and moving and making good decisions complimented by two goalscorers. For where we are now with our squad this is not only our best side but it should also be incredibly obvious. I suspect this will be the best we play (barring an early sending off or injury) in a very long time

Tanned arse

Also see it as a chance for ESR to break into the box more unnoticed in the same way willock grabs his goals

Henkamp

It’s been a while the team sheet came out and an overwhelming majority of fans are in agreement with it. Nice for a change.

SEGooner77

Now THAT is an exciting line-up. 4-3-3, pistols at dawn, take it to them.

Brave attacking formation – let’s hope it works.

COYG!!

Top Bins

Yes! Finally one 6 and two 8’s! Excited to see the quality in transitions..

Rich

I suggested this exact team a few days back, and I got 9 thumbs down, and zero thumbs up

Burnley are there for the taking today, their form is rubbish, and they’re not really not up to much

I’m going for Burnley 0-5 Arsenal

Saka 7
Pepe 14
Aubameyang 52,57
Lacazette 81

Nainsley Aitland Miles

I’m going 3-0.

TUMANG

Why not 6 nil while you at it! Here’s to dreaming

Nainsley Aitland Miles

You suggested the same 11 yes, but you actually said to play White at right-back and play Tomiyasu at centre back to deal with their aerial threat. That’s probably why you got 9 thumbs down. We shouldn’t have to be shifting players around for the sake of Burnley – let them shift players around for us.

Danny

Been a long time since I’ve seen this kind of misguided optimism on here. I like it.

Thierry Bergkamp (non negotiable)

And they all said Odegaard and The Smith won’t play together, it’s either or.
What do they know

PEPE PIGZ

nice

Luke

Only change I would mak would be Laca for Auba. Nevertheless, pretty promissing.

Onenil

Could station Xhaka in the tunnel to ‘tackle’ the Burnley players as they come on and off the pitch?

shokim

I’m buzzing with this lineup. COYG!

Granit(e) hard!

Wow, that is a very attack minded line up, and I for one is happy, but the test is will they be able to stand up to the ruffian tactics of these ogres?, I hope

CorporateMan

The same type of line up that failed so woefully against Manchester City. I hope it turns out differently today
I would have preferred a more cautious approach of Lokonga in place of one of those attacking midfield players

Nainsley Aitland Miles

There are 6 changes from the Man City game – out are Leno, Chambers, Holding, Cedric, Kola, Xhaka – and it was practically a back five in defence that day.

TCGNR

On what planet does a team’s approach to Man City and Burnley ever need to be compared?

loose_cannon

Finally! Arteta unleashing the 4-3-3

Giuseppe Hovno

Whichever asshole has gone through all these comments voting them down, know this: I feel very sorry for you and I hope you’re life improves

Paul

Haha spot on.

SEGooner77

Hear hear

Paul

Every comment has 2 or more down votes.

Even ones where I can’t see anything wrong.

Paul

That’s why it was mentioned.

Funsho Patrick

Lol@the down votes… there’s a spurs fan on the prowl

Sp*rs play tomorrow so their fans have nothing else to do today.

Mark

Definitely an attacking lineup. I bet Odegaard drops in with Partey most of the time and Smith-Rowe plays more in front of them when in the defensive half.

Qwaliteee

The idiot count is now down to two and they’re both on the bench (Cedric and Mari), so on paper at least, this should be three points.

Shawn Cross

Very bold away from home not sure Odegaard can play that role.

Viju Jacob

Without Xhaka in the team, the team already looks good, and having this attack minded midfield is quite exciting. My only hope is that the burly Burnley won’t play rugby with our lads

Lacaubapepe

There’s a thin line between bravery and bravado. If this was a free-scoring Arsene Wenger side I’d have been more comfortable with this line up, knowing they could shoot their way out of trouble.

But with a tepid tentative artetaball, I’ve have thrown in Sambi for either esr or oddy to keep things tight during turnovers. We need to stay in the game to win it.

Hope the gamble pays off.

Man Manny

With this line up, Lacazette up top would have been more ideal for me. Those little give but and go moves that leave defenders flummoxed is a joy to see, but what do I know.
Arteta knows.

allezkev

That’s a lot to load onto Partey against such a physical team, yes Arteta has gone for it and credit him for such a brave decision but I can’t help feeling concerned.

1-0 to the Arsenal will do me…

TUMANG

Let’s spoil the dinosaurs contract extension vibes !!

Funsho Patrick

One defensive midfielder two 8’s .. no injured starters… And arteta finally has his ‘specificity’ in every position….also no distractions from playing in Europe…..so I’m assuming we’ll start looking more like Mancity from today😁

karl

If Burnley don’t bother to play in midfield, we are fine. Looks a little bit like a one man midfield though.

FMT

This lineup seems like we will be using one holding midfielder. I feel really uncomfortable when we do that. We have not been able to perform well in this kinda formation. I hope we get it right in this match. Let’s go lads!

Kunz

Team feels abit imbalanced. Instead of ESR would have preferred to see Sambi. Here’s to 3 points today. COYG

Kentish Gooner

WHAT A GOAL!

shokim

WOW! Odegaard’s excellent technique for the goal. What a beauty! ❤️‍🔥

Brady’s bunch

Love the energy odegaard is bringing today.

Qwaliteee

Brilliant free kick from Odegaard.

Beckham couldn’t have done better.

Possession

Link anyone please ? The one I was on has gone down.

PEA14

Think Tomi was having a good game. Likewise for Odegaard. I’m starting to feel a Mustafi everytime White is having the ball. He seems overly composed , more than required and dwells on the ball like Xhaka. Hope this is just MA instruction and not his normal game

Still waiting to be impress by him

Futsboller

Never thought a player’s confidence and composure on the ball would be a problem … he does it to invite pressure, to pull the opposition out of shape, and he’s extremely good at it.
