It’s nice to have a settled first XI.

Brady’s bunch

Saka all over Ake today

Our strongest team, though we can argue about Xhaka in and ESR out.

Hope we can keep our winning run going, though would be happy with a draw too.

ESR for Xhaka? This is not FIFA.

Nope, separate arguments.

strange city playing without a goalie today.

Seeing Tomiyasu’s name on the team sheet warms the heart!

Glad to see Tomi back! C’mon lads we can give them a run for their money!

Heck, if we beat Man City, Liverpool and the S**r/s we could replicate Grahams young Arsenal side of 89. Or come close to it.
could be a fingernail less few weeks.

Good strong line-up.

Don’t do anything fucking stupid today, Xhaka!!!!!

His brain fart triggered an aneurysm

You called it spot on. Man C didn’t beat us – Xhaka beat us.

King Wolde

Last night I watched this whole match in my dream. We won 2-1, although the goal we conceded was a cheap one from a silly mistake by Ramsdale

Who is the ref?

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Stuart Attwell.

Wrighty’s hats

Is it just me or does he look a bit like Steve Round?

Wrighty’s hats

My bad, confused him with Graham Scott!

Our strongest line-up, so this game will show where we are compared to city. COYG!

Looked like we are much more better.

Let’s see a good spirited performance from our team and I’d take the result

Laca doing the 90? No strikers on the bench

Pépé ?

Wrighty’s hats

ESR if he gets tired 😉

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Nketiah tested positive for Covid.

Eazy Deezy

Eddie has Covid

Hope he’s back healthy soon. With Auba away, were going to need him for January

Kareem Mohamed

I realise Xhaka brings experience and leadership which can be useful in games like this…but his lack of mobility also tends to be exposed in games like this.

I know we are long odds to get a result regardless of any potential lineup, but I think this might help seal our fate.

Here’s hoping Xhaka can prove me wrong!

Mikels Arteta

I never want to see xhaka in an Arsenal kit again

Simon Rowe

Xhaka is week link . Oh it’s January . Sell him ….

I wonder if ESR, is being sensibly managed back from injury?

Giuseppe Hovno

Yeah and he has a long history of injuries too. Worth taking extra care

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Think it’s just a case of not changing a winning line-up.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

I would 100% take a boring 0-0.

Head and heart say City to win by 2 clear goals but if we can get to half-time 0-0 the second half will be a lot more interesting.

Please don’t concede in the first 20 minutes.

Brady’s bunch

No nosebleeds today hopefully 🙏

No Eddie on the bench.
Is there a transfer happening?

Would have preferred Smith-Rowe starting instead of Ode today.
Direct football instead of guile, at least for the first hour… Something different from what they would be expecting. We’re not going to outpass them

Wow!!! What a 45 minutes. Best performance I can remember in the last 7 years. Keep it up boys!

Then we went full Arsenal. Sigh. Toying with emotions.

Kareem Mohamed

Wow. No idea if we can hold…we will probably need a second goal to stand a chance against this City side. But in any case this is the first time I’ve seen us dictate play against one of the stronger teams in the league. . Yes we have done it against bottom of the table sides and Spurs, but it’s beeb a different story in the bigger games (even if we have managed to squeak out some crucial victories). I am guessing this is the much heralded long term vision of Arteta. PS. It looks like Partey is crucial to… Read more »

Reiss Neverseen & the DicTeta

This has been a scintillating first half. Good stuff

Absolutely typical Arsenal, so not surprising at all.

Thierry Bergkamp (Xhaka Out)

No not typical Arsenal.
More like typical Xhaka.

It’s always idiotic Xhaka to screw up all the good work with one moment of stupidly and start the slide!!

Alan Sunderland

It wasn’t a foul.

Thierry Bergkamp (Xhaka Out)

I doubt you’d say that if it was in the other penalty box

Alan Sunderland

I would, it wasn’t a foul.

Xhaka pulled his shirt, clear and obvious foul.

Alan Sunderland

I didn’t think it was a foul, should I change my opinion to agree with you? He pulled his shirt as he was already going down.

Sadly your opinion and mine don’t really matter – it was given and that is that. It should not come as a surprise really because whenever Xhaka is selected you are just waiting for him to **** it up and inevitably he does..

Alan Sunderland

Xhaka is going to xhaka, but I don’t think it was a foul. Didn’t think the odegaard one was either.

Public Elneny

If it wasn’t such a poorly timed, theatrical dive it would have been stonewall

Mikels Arteta

A shirt pull in the box, knowing full well there’s VAR. it’s January, another midfielder is needed. The sooner Xhaka is away from this club the better. I’d pay Roma to take him

And there it is.
In another example of why Xhaka should not be at a club like Arsenal HE has just thrown all of the hard work down the toilet by letting them back into the game by acting like an idiot.
He does it every time and every time he gets picked..
I blame Xhaka for the Gabriel red card as well – the yellow cards followed the Xhaka mess up.
It would not have been a bad thing at all if Xhaka’s injury was season ending – he offers nothing to Arsenal except liability…

Thierry Bergkamp (Xhaka Out)

You can’t say that here.
Xhaka was man of the match vs France

Alan Sunderland

Spurs, I think you and the gods are a perfect match.

Alan Sunderland

Make it easier on yourself, instead of hate watching arsenal support spurs.

Xhaka you f*cking idiot! I’m so f*cking livid with you f*cking dumb ass! We could have won 1-0, but no your f*cking stupid ass have to ruin it for all of us. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Thank you Xhaka
Thank you very much.
I hope he is happy with everything he has done today.
On top of the game for sixty minutes until he decides to intervene and hand Man City a life line back into the game from which they went on to win.
He does this on purpose – there is absolutely no f*cking question in my mind that he acts this way deliberately and with intent.
Why does Arteta keep selecting him ??????
Why f*cking why ?????

Al Alontos

Despite the loss, the buts came good. Superb performances. Martinelli!!!!!! As he grows, the goals will flow

Al Alontos

Not buts, i meants ‘boys’

Malaysian gunner

Get rud of Xaka. How many games has he cost Arsenal?

Jeremy DG

He hasn’t. A referring decision did. Xhaka was excellent all game. Silva was already falling over before the tiny shirt tug and the referee rightly played on. Clearly not a clear and obvious error.

If he was already falling over why did Xhaka feel the need to grab his shirt? The penalty was entirely Xhaka’s fault – a player who has a history of screwing things up and costing us points – the shirt grab and his reputation cost us the penalty and the fu*cking game because City had done nothing until that point. The referee had a poor game no doubt but Xhaka gave him a reason to make a shit decision against us. Just another example of Arsenal shooting itself in the foot again – until we stop this we will never… Read more »

4 seasons

Feeling absolutely gutted. We did not deserve that. And City are total *****. But this arsenal team are something special, I think we can all see that. 2022 is going to be a big year for us – COYG!

Malaysian gunner

The ref may pretend to go to var and give a penbalty. Why didnt var call ref when the Jap was stamped in theface.
How can you trust var?

His name is Tomiyasu – or Tomi 🙂
And you can trust VAR because the concept is brilliant – its just the idiots that use it..
