Arsenal coach Jonas Eidevall has hailed captain Kim Little as ‘the perfect example of someone leading by example.’
Little has won plaudits from across the game during her career for her ability but she is just as renowned for her sense of professionalism.
No Arsenal player has played more minutes for the club this season and Eidevall says that she is just as valuable as a rolemodel as she is a player in her own right.
“When we are on the pitch, Kim Little is nearly always the player who works the hardest,” Eidevall pointed out in his Friday press conference. “She usually runs the most and that goes from warm-up to the last minute of the game.
“She puts that in on a consistent basis, on an excellent basis every day. You could never point the finger at her and say ‘you didn’t do your job today.’
“When you have that as your team captain, who has represented the club more than 250 times and has all of these achievements during her career but she still does it every day.

“She prides herself on it and that culture rubs off on other players. She is the perfect example of someone leading by example and showing others how it can be done and how it should be done.”
Also pressed on the future of Vivianne Miedema, whose contract expires in the summer, Eidevall said, “I hope that she stays but we don’t have any update on that. As soon as we have something to communicate, we will let you know.
“I hope she likes playing in this team and the style we are playing with. I certainly enjoy working with her, she is a great player for us. Our ambition as a club and my ambition as a manager is to try to keep Viv for the future as well.
“She is very, very intelligent, she has very high demands like any excellent player has. She views the game through her lens and when I speak to her it’s so giving.
“I always learn new things when I speak to Viv and we discuss things. She also has very clear ideas but is open to change and listening in discussions. She is very entertaining to work with.”
