Meanwhile, the FA confirmed today that the 2022-23 season will get underway on the weekend beginning 9th September this season and games will take place during the men’s World Cup in November and December. The final weekend of the season will take place at the slightly later time of 27th / 28th May. The FA Cup Final will take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, 14th May.
Elsewhere, the Austria squad for Euro 2022 has yet to be confirmed but Arsenal’s Manu Zinsberger and Laura Wienroither are virtual certainties to be selected. Vivianne Miedema has, of course, been selected for Netherlands, Stina Blackstenius has been selected for Sweden, Frida Maanum for Norway and while Switzerland have yet to totally confirm their squad, Lia Walti and Noelle Maritz are certainties for selection- fitness permitting. Simone Boye will also be selected for Denmark in all likelihood.
