The Gunners will train for a couple of days in Baltimore before facing Everton at the M&T Bank Stadium and then head to Florida for clashes with Orlando City and Chelsea. All three matches will take place in the middle of the night UK time and can be watched on a pay-per-view basis via the Arsenal website.

*In Patrick Viera’s voice* fantastic, fantastic.

Got to he a reason why Charlie wasn’t taken along, though.

Maybe just because he went to Germany, and if Arteta wants to see others in action then another youngster is gonna lose out this one, not a senior player. Nothing to worry about i’d say 🤷🏽‍♂️

Walters in, Patino out in this case…

I was just thinking we all talk about Smith Rowe and Martinelli competing for the left wing position but The Smith has been named as a Midfielder and Martinelli as a forward….might this mean a change of role for Emile?????
Or does it mean bugger all….

Hopefully ESR will be tried as a box to box midfielder. He has the speed and creativity to play in that role. Plus the lad is not a bad tackler.

Probably bugger all. Nelson is also named as a midfielder for some reason.

*being VERY careful*
I’m awfully surprised at the list in one particular department. Really hoping this is positive news for the club, as everyone’s been very silent on the issue…

Johnny 4 Hats

Look. I’d had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife was, ‘That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah’.

Emi Rates

I’m parteycularly happy to see one certain player back after all the speculation.

Wouldn’t read too much into the inclusion. They may have to for similar reasons that we can’t discuss it.

The Athletic has a statement from “a club” about said issue which explains it. The silent is eerie when how it turns out is going to have a major effect on our plans for the transfer window, let alone our season…yet nobody even hints at it through coded language.

djourou's nutmeg

thanks guys, i just had to stare at my screen for half an hour coming back and forth to figure out what the hell you were talking about.

Mayor McCheese

From what I’ve read about the situation, I feel fairly confident that our squad will be unaffected in terms of who is available this season.

lets hope you are right

Blian Gliffin

They might just be dropping him off at St Quentin :/

Frog In Ze Room

Despite the media doing all they can to enable the general public to identify that one particular department. This story is sordid

Probably nothing, but I traveled through the garbage websites and found an article where someone claims to have insider information. It says that the claim has actually come from the accused’s partner, after the accused changed their mind about marrying her.

No proof of course, but an interestingly specific slant on the whole affair.

what’s the plane equivalent of “mikel’s at the wheel” XD

Santi's Thigh Grab

Mikel’s at the joy stick.

I bet he’s not even really flying that plane, or even a qualified commercial pilot.
Typical charlatan Arteta fraudster antics.

Cygan's barber

Agreed, typical Arteta, winging it again

Repetitive Horseshoe Syndrome

Mik’s on the Stick?

I wasn’t expecting to see T…orreira on the plane. What?

King 14enry

I knew we still own him, at least! I genuinely forgot that Runarsson ever played for us, let alone STILL plays for us

Looking forward to this season, a lot of things to be positive about. I just feel not having a physically strong and creative midfielder will be the chink in our armour. Partey needs a partner and Granit is not that man.

Death by 300,000 Passes

/Careful hat on

5 goalkeepers and no Patino? Goshdarn it!

List needs more Karl Hein. Don’t think there’s enough keepers going

Jack: I’m telling you, fellas – you’re gonna want that keeper on the plane!

Gene Frenkle: And if Jack wants more keepers, we should probably give him more keepers!

Jack: Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription…is more keepers!

Toure Motors

Whose plane is that? The A team’s? The absolute state of it.

It Is What It Is

Not at all worried….Our saviour is on board.
And if he’s had a few bottles of red, the Angels Gabriel will just hop out and fly the plane to safety.

Mayor McCheese

Why do pilot’s seats always look so ragged? All that tech and continued maintenance and the airline can’t splurge for a reupholstery job?

Could be pilot superstition “lucky seat”?? 🙂

’cause they can’t sit still in that hot seat

Weird to be taking so many players with no future at the club and no youngsters like Patino and Hutchinson. Runarsson ffs?!

Azeez too, best of the crop in my opinion

Yes, I was surprised by his omission as well. I keep expecting him to be more involved in the first team and it just doesn’t seem to happen.

SLC Gooner

Kind of weird. Can only guess that they are trying to shop some of these players by giving them some minutes.

A mediocre bunch of players who will do nothing again next season.

I bet you’re really excited in the inside, but are just trying to manage down expectations. I get it.

You’re so right! I want a full refund and and public apology from the club before they KO the first match or I’m going to show them whose boss by complaining on a fan page in pre season!
The absolute audacity of Arsenal actually angers all us alliteration admirers.

Laugh and take the piss if you want, but by now I was hoping to see a large-scale revamp of the squad. Instead I see the same old names: players who should be gone by now. And basically nothing done to solve the glaring problems in the squad. This lot will do nothing next season.

Maybe the plan is to leave most of them behind in the States…

Or maybe the plan is to play in the MLS instead? I reckon we could win that thing

Guns Up

Leno, Luiz, Chambers, AMN, Saka (at LB), Torreira, Xhaka, ESR, Martinelli, Nelson, Auba
Bench:. Guendouzi, Pepe, Mavropanos, Mustafi, Martinez, Willock, Lacazette

That’s the first lineup after Arteta was named new coach. 9 gone and 2 more departing imminently, with a decent chance of further departures. Accounting for Saka’s positional change, at least 9 and maybe 10 of the starters will be different on Aug. 5. Can only assume then that by a large scale revamp, you mean a complete nuking of the squad every summer??

Absolutely fucking vital: a third striker; a defender who can play at either full-back position; a central midfielder to replace xhaka or Partay.

Absolutely must go: Pepe, Bellrin, that dodgy keeper and lots others..

We’ve do fuck all so far

El Mintero

Agree on what we still need but we have time left to get them in….same every year. All last minute. Would be nice to have done it all 6 weeks ago.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

We won’t sign another striker.

Would you not agree, however, that we are in a much better position today, than the last day of the season, the first day of last season, and back to the final day of the season under Wenger. Without question we are not “there” yet (wherever we consider there to be) – but we are closer to “there” than we have been for a number of years. This is not a lowering of expectations, but an understanding of “Building Towards Success” – clearly we are. You speak as if you’ve been in a coma since the conclusion of 03/04 and… Read more »

No, Jakeus. We are building towards another 5th or 6th or 7th finish in the PL next season.

Arteta has clearly learnt nothing from last season.

No one would ever lose money betting on your indefatigable pessimism.

Fantastic use of indefatigable – words is not used often enough.

New name – indeFATigable pessimistic GOONER

You actually think we are getting worse since the end of the 20/21 season? Since we’ve added Odegaard, Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, and Jesus…. you think we are actually worse off now than we were then? Only thing that Arteta learned apparently is that 5th is better than 8th – which would mean, making obvious assumptions, good signings were made before last season – and therefore, filling the leftover holes with signings of a similar ilk (except Jesus, to me, is a clear upgrade) will lead to further progress. I’d be interested to know what you would deem as a success… Read more »

How about not losing 5 out of 9 games against shit teams and throwing away a golden chance to finish top four? Come the end of this season when yet again we’re out the CL places the losers here will be coming up with lame excuses.

Santi's Thigh Grab

Love your consistency Fats. No one has been as negative for so long.

You’re a knob

You need a hug, pal?

*Careful hat on*

Interested to see whether *the certain player* will feature in any tour games.
The club is doing its best to omit him from any media coverage.

That won’t be possible from the side of fan social media or game coverage though.

Who is this rumour about?!?!

I don’t remember us going on a pre-season tour with only one youngster before. A shame really, it was fun getting excited about Zelalem et al during pre-season

djourou's nutmeg

remember that backheel pass by the jeff? was enough for people to ask for him for the next two years, amazing

I do miss the Jeff

Disappointed that very few young kids are on the plane. Would have loved to see them.

Wow. I just looked at the list and realised wehave to get rid of so many players.
