4-2 COYG

Will be a big marker of our progress if we can beat them. Hope it all goes well!

VAR will solve all the problems

I just have this nervous feeling that we will play them off the park but yet manage to lose by some sneaky goals or poor referring decision and Klopp will walk away with a feeling of getting away with it.

KT must be like WFT?

It’ll only be a talking point if we don’t win.

Hail Gus!

I bet Klipperty is scratching his head too!

Right footed full back versus Salah.

Alan Sunderland

Makes sense, Salah comes inside onto his left foot almost every time. I like it, tomiasyu too good a player to be on the bench. He was our best player 1st half of last season.

He plays on the left for Japan.

More LCB rather than LB for Japan I understood. In any case he is versatile and I top footballer. Fingers crossed I don’t regret my words but I have faith in him.
To be fair I’d have faith in KT also. We are blessed with good options right now. Long may it continue

Thierry Bergkamp (non negotiable)

Is Tomi right footed though?

Tomi is every footed

Another big game and Mikel Arteta is coming up with a new twist to the team that might backfire

Well, may be Arteta liked what he sees in Tomy @ LB . Afterall he is the one seeing them in training. Also, it’s good to have a defender as versatile as Tomy.

This aged badly.

Great prediction, Nostradamus.

Wow Tierney’s stock has really fallen big time! What has happened? He used to be our best player, now he is 3rd choice left back behind a CM and a RB

He did well in the last game too. Tomy is a beast though and Ben is un droppable…

Finsbury Park Gooner

Yeah I feel for him tbh. I love Tomi to bits but KT is rarely if ever less than a 7.5

Brady’s bunch

Easing him back in after a long time out. I’m guessing they’re trying to keep going for the full season

Emi Rates

He was maybe our best player but we have improved the entire squad since and the top spot is more densely populated than when KT came to us. He has well documented fitness issues and I think his lack of game time is more related to that than where he may be in the pecking order. He’s still a really good player and has a given place in this team.

Long live KT and COYG!

Tea leaves!

Don’t think so, just a tactical tweak, arteta wants a left back that can invert into midfield just as zinchenko does, and I think with tomiyasus experience as a midfielder in the past, that’s why he got the nod, Tierney more of a traditional left back, but football has evolved, look at cancelo at City, u’d understand why

Also maybe more comfortable with salah cutting in

Why is tomiyasu starting ahead of Tierney.

Just hope MA not being too clever like against Manure

It would seem he is not.

Nate K

None shall pass! Let’s go!

I just hope this doesn’t backfire..

Man Manny

Where is Zinchenko? Tierney on the bench?
3 points all the same. Tomiyasu is no dud.

Teryima Adi

Should have been Tierney – more balanced defence that way. Tomiyasu is not a natural at that position.

Man Manny

Didn’t Tierney play 90 mins. on Thursday? I didn’t watch the match.

70’ minutes and Tomi switched to the left

Noticed Liverpool are playing Jota, Nunez, Salah and Diaz with only 2 in midfield. Looking forward to seeing Partey absolutely dominating them

Teryima Adi

Tierney should have been on that LB position, but I guess Arteta knows best. COYG!!!

David C

A right footer on left back to stop Salah cutting in on his left foot maybe from Liverpool’s right?

COYG! Keep the momentum going.

Yeah, maybe Mik knows better than some of us? 🙂

Whilst I love our (not so) new anthem, like many supporters, I really wish it contained the name Arsenal. Why can’t the second line, instead of “whatever the weather” was “Arsenal together”.
Just a thought.

Unless there is something wrong with Tierney, I don’t see why he shouldn’t start. Tierney is more defensively aware than Zichenko. Hmmm Arteta

And this is why Arteta is the manager and you aren’t.

Obviously Arteta knows🙏🙏

Thierry Bergkamp (non negotiable)

Tomi was looking good on Thursday. Our best defender with Saliba, I’m happy with that.

Abraham kalupande

What is happening to Ukrainian left back

Brady’s bunch

Partey time

Does he feel Tomi has more Zinchenko quality on the ball in that hybrid full back midfielder role? Or are we still managing Tierney’s minutes? Either way COYG!

tomi is a very accomplished defender, more so than kt I think. not that kt is bad. but anyway, maybe kt is not 100% or something. it is a surprise for sure.

Pastor Simon

To be honest, I am not comfortable with the line up.

How can u put Tomy at the LB when you have a natural LB fit on the bench.

I pray we win this game

Bleeding gums murphy

Thank you Pastor, how much shall I give you for your prayers. 🙏🏻

Sorry mate, but on this occasion I am trusting in Arteta rather than God…

See how he handles Salah and then we will know. I’m still confident on this one. Gotta be killers in front of goal though. COYG!!!

KT on the bench for fitness reasons. If he starts he probably goes off injured, given the intensity of the match. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him come on at ‘60 or ‘70 minutes.

DB’s first touch

Hope this isn’t a sign that Tierney is carrying an injury. Also interesting to see pool lining up with 4 forwards in their XI. Maybe klopp wants to bypass the midfield and just play long ball counters and high pressing when we build up from the back. If he thought there would be any kind of midfield battle he surely would have played Fabinho, no?

Salahs hemaroid

Maybe easier for Tomy to defend salah as a right footed player??

Why? Tierney is a natural left back and played well on Thursday.

I dont Understand Arteta game’s plan. Why bench KT a natural left back and using a right back. Before you know it players become unhappy and pushing for a move out. KT was among our best player last season. I dont like the way MA is treating him

Your first three words say it all.

Boy Bastin

Good line up for the most important game of the season so far and good to see Tomiyasu included after his performance in the EL. With a rampant City just behind and with Sp*rs close and also Chelsea not that far away, it’s a “must win” in my opinion. Being top (and remaining there particularly when the games are coming thick and fast) has to be the top priority. Slipping behind City will only put on more pressure (I doubt such pressures worry City that much, they’re used to it). I think we certainly can win against Liverpool today and… Read more »

Klopp is unleashing all his attackers at once. They want to try and bambozle us as fast if they can and end the game in the first half.If we can resist an onslaught in the first half, we’ll win this game. Our defence and partey is key.Come on arsenal!!!!! This is our biggest game so far.

When we score first,we usually take control and go on to win.Martinelli for the double. We’re winning this gunners!

Saka and odegard have watches that first half

We have simply not done enough.
Jesus, Odegaard and Saka have been on lookers in this game.
Need to step up a gear…

There ya go my friend

All hail Leon for that second goal! You challenged the universe and it responded.

Neil Bamford

@Leon this aged well…

I correct myself 🙂

Boy Bastin

It was looking like the first half vs Sp*rs – Arsenal on top early, but the away side coming back as time went on – except we got our second goal “early” rather than waiting until the second half.

One slightly concerning point for me is the mistake by Gabriel for Liverpool’s goal though. I’m not sure where we’d be without Saliba to tidy up.

I think the mistakes have been racking up for Gabriel. Kinda hard to say after last season but he seems to be some sort of a weak link. Still very good, don’t get me wrong.

This game is far from over. But if we are really in it, we’re the better team. But they don’t need much to make us pay… COYG!

Still need to puff chests out and realise they ARE THAT GOOD !!! Martinelli showing it’s done Partey a little quiet for my liking ? He’s the one to set the tone
