There’s something brewing at Arsenal. You can feel it. I can feel it. Ben White can feel it.
Having missed out on the top four last season, the players are using the disappointment to drive themselves to higher levels. It remains to be seen how far they can go but with a quarter of the season done, we’re top of the table and deservedly so.
Having had a relatively kind set of fixtures to start the season, today’s showdown with Liverpool was an opportunity to underline our credentials as a serious outfit. The boys passed with flying colours, winning 3-2 after twice being pegged back.
“Obviously playing against Liverpool is always tough. In recent years, we haven’t got the results we wanted. This year is different,” White told beIN SPORT.

“I think all week with the gaffer, we’re ready for everything, tactically we’re ready and any situation that happens, we’re on it.
“I don’t think there’s any fear in our team, we’re all young, we’re hungry to be the best so that’s what we’re trying to do.”
“It’s a process,” he said of the progress the club have made in the space of 12 months.
“We’re a year older all of us, more experienced in the Premier League and it’s going in the right direction.
“This squad is fantastic, I don’t think there’s anyone getting ahead of themselves. You can see that in the training that we do in the week. It’s game by game, we’re not looking too far ahead.”
The question on everybody’s lips is whether Arsenal are genuine title contenders. Nobody wants to get too carried away at this stage of the season but White sounded bullish.
“The way we’re going, we’re doing well. Game by game, like I said. Why not?
This is going to be a great year for us! Everybody saying man city look like the best team of all time and I think that we are really not that far off them. We could cause City real problems with our starting eleven. But our form is hugely reliant on some key players being available and performing well. For example, Partey. Today’s game would have slipped had he not came back to life in second half. City on the other hand won the title last year and this year they added a goal scoring robot to that. Hopefully the injury demons spare us this season and we get to maintain our core team like Leicester could. Then we have a real chance.
I’m cautiously optimistic. We are still making some stupid mistakes and opponents don’t need a lot of opportunities to score against us, while we need quite a few to score.
We are playing very well, no doubt. And I am buzzing. But something is holding me back from really believing we can challenge City. Maybe because Arsenal have disappointed me so much in the past, after it looked like we could get there.
We aren’t expected to win the title this year. Would love to see it happen but our goal has been top four which I am confident about for the first time. Other teams will not underestimate us now. It’s a long season, injuries to any team including Citeh could change the picture. This has been the best season so far in a long long time.
As a minimum we want them to lose at least one match….

The most important thing is that we’ve got a team we can identify with again, from top to bottom. When the Super League thing broke out, I thought the Arsenal I knew was done forever. This is some transformation and everyone involved deserves credit for the turnaround.
A team that can have Tomi and Tierney on the bench for long periods is scary. Get top 4, build the same competition in midfield and up front, and the sky is the limit
Tomi can replace Gabriel (who appears to be the weakest link in our defence) at LCB. Gabriel’s mistakes cost us goals vs Fulham, Spurs and now Liverpool. The Tomi that pocketed Sallah will definitely be immense playing alongside Saliba
What’s most impressive is we weren’t at our best today and we won. We Have to improve defensively.
Yea; just as Edu said, we are almost shoe in for Top 4. Leeds, Southampton and Forest are our next 3 games in the EPL. If we win them all, who knows what can happen.
If if if we can win those three (taking nothing for granted) we’d be in a super strong position to go away to the interlull to end all interlulls top of the league.
On paper we have one tough looking fixture against Chelsea before the break. I dunno how big a deal it is but being top at that point will put us in a great position to tap up a few winter signings if we want any.

While the poster boy Salah got all the plaudits, i think Mane was the real engine behind Liverpool success. They failed to acknowledge him enough and now are ruing their folly as he thrives is Bundesliga
I’ve thought exactly the same thing. Salah may have been the one scoring all the goals, but it was Mane’s movement that opened up the space for Salah. Mane also led Liverpool’s press, which so far this season has been just a shadow of what it was the last few years.

One thing i would like to see frm arteta to try and rest the Defender Gabriel ant use saliba with ben white or tomiyasu in central partening for man city game to come.we dont need mistakes in that Guardiola team
