Arsenal stayed humble this afternoon and battered Man City 5-1 at the Emirates this afternoon.
Martin Odegaard put Arsenal 1-0 up inside two minutes, before Erling Haaland equalised in the second half. That sparked the Gunners into life and goals from Thomas Partey, the brilliant Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and substitute Ethan Nwaneri produced a famous result against a team that has inflicted so much pain on us down the years.
Here’s how the players rated this evening.

Hale End 10/10
The thing about them two latest gems out of OUR HALLOWED academy is the quiet confidence with which they play — it belies their tender years and it is fvcking scary. I am absolutely hyped about both of them!
I’m starting to think in one or two years we might have the best full backs in Europe, MLS and Timber are both insane talents and both are only getting started.
MLS is a midfielder, so I wonder if Arteta will keep him at LB?
MLS may be playing farther forward in not too long.
Not sure why this chorus is continuing to go on, Saliba was a striker at youth level, so what? He is absolutely excelling as a left back and performing at the highest level right now, why would you move him? Seems to me he’s found his true flaking and could become a Philip Lahm level full back. If he gets put in midfield it will be for added cover, it won’t suddenly become his main position.
*his true calling
With that thinking Saka would still be left back?
We all saw MLS jink his way through the City defense and fire into the net. He could develop into a fine winger or attacking mid. I think our need there is greater than another left back. We just bought a pretty good one. MLS is superb at LB, but he may be even more valuable elsewhere in a year or two.
Wait… Timber is 23 and Calafiori is 22, how is that possible?? They play with so much maturity, I forget that they’re youngsters.
Did anyone catch Neville basically baiting city players to injure our players m?
Totally despicable. Sly Sports need to have a word.
Yeah I found that concerning but these days can’t even be shocked.
Neville is a huge steaming 💩
What I ask myself is, why do people still watch sky sports
Hale End 2-1 Man City
Hale End 2-1 Haal And
and what remains as a consequence?
Arsenal 3-0 ManCity
Odd that Heaven and Martin left Hale End for United because they “didn’t feel they would get opportunities in the first team at Arsenal”.
Upper sixth 5 Man City 1
On a day full of highlights, this comment is another!! Well played
😂😂
Either not enough belief or went for the £’s
Well, Obi-Martin was offered twice the salary by Man U that Arsenal was offering, and Heaven would have been below several other left footed defenders in the depth chart. Both will get more first team minutes in Manchester. They probably did the right thing for their careers.
Wouldn’t be surprised in Ob-Martin never features for them, so maybe worth cashing in now. Heaven might, might not. I’m sure more money is on the table despite Ratcliffe ransacking the club.
Wonder how those two are feeling this morning…
That my friends was a classic Fuck Off Win!!!
Stay humble, eh!
Seen this at exactly 115 votes… nice!
What are they feeding them at Hale End!?
On Sundays it’s Haaland’s Humble Pie.
Man City crumble tomorrow!
Dough man, Dowman!
This is why I love Arsenal !!!
10/10 to MLS for that celebration. Put that clown Haaland in his place!
I couldn’t believe he pulled that out, the guy has proper tactical awareness beyond his years
He has a swagger about him that belies his years, it’s what’s gonna differentiate him in the years to come. What a talent!
That was fuckin’ excellent!
Almost as good as Big Gabi telling the over-sized, thick-lipped lug to hurry up and bring him his boot!
Hang it in the fucking Louvre
My God what a game, and what a massive team we have right now. We truly played like a top tier team – looking unstoppable both physically and mentally. Let’s go!
Top teams can’t cope. Bodes well for the UCL this year… Bring it
John Stones looks like he’s about to cry in the post match interview. Get in 💪
He gets a 10/10 rating from me if he does
Can’t wait for Pep fake smiling his way through the next one even though he’s crying inside.
So so humble
He’s going to be sacked in the morning!
I don’t know if anyone here has seen the film Base ketball. But John stones post game interview was so like trey parkers 😂😂😂
What a reference from the past
Great film 😂
Lmao
Yesss 😆😂😂🤣🫠
honoured to have been the 115th upvote here 🫡
10/10 for everyone today for raising my spirits while in the hospital with a family member. Only think better would have been Bruno sent off to the moon.
*thing. Jfc.
Wishing your family all the best.
Thanks! We hope to be discharged today, then the physical therapy begins. Steps are so dangerous for old folks.
Unfortunately we are in the US, so the bills to come will be awful.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hope your family member is better soon mate
It’s neat having a hater on here that will down vote literally everything I post. Hope you get the help you need and find some joy mate.
I heard it’s Haaland down voting everything.
Best wishes for your sick loved ones.Prayers are going up.❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾
outstanding one man show.. Best I’ve seen in years.
But enough talking about the ref..
We were magnificent
He was actually decent i thought. Game flowed well, no dodgy decisions
Silva?
I put VAR to account on this one too
It was clear and obvious that he’s a fcuking loser cnut
How did he not book Silva for kicking both Trosser AND the ball away, while he was lying on the ground after being fouled (by Silva!). Petulant little prick.
Wasn’t joking – I thought that the referring was good today. also Michael Oliver is a C*nt
In their words of their most famous fans, Don’t look back in anger, just fade away.
How’s that for humility you sky blue cunts🖕🖕
The* damn autocorrect
In hindsight, to hear the emirates faithful erupt in choir singing that song after Ethans’ goal would have been perfection on an already purrfect evening
Thomas Partey when he plays in his natural position has uncanny habit of maybe not being the best player on the pitch but in the top 2 or 3, I’m very glad we didn’t sell him and I hope we keep him for the next couple of years………and play him in the right position because right back does him dirty
He was outstanding today
Partey turned the game around for us today. Soaked up pressure and released the penetrative balls for our counters.
His real weakness is his ability to stay fit, but when he does and plays a few games on the go, he is one magnificent midfielder. Yes age is catching up with him, but the way he is playing he ought to be extended for another year at least. Rice, Partey, Zubi, Merino will be quite some options on midfield!
Partey is the definition of a sweeping pass forward into runners
Yeah – I’ve said it before on here. We simply cannot let Partey leave in the summer!
He’s makeshift RB, sure – but we are so, so, so much more dangerous with him at the base of midfield. And his growing ‘sync’ with Declan is pure poetry.
You don’t think the other thing might be why he may not be extended?
Brilliant
Blogs, pin this post please.
Martinelli also shut Gvardiol down which is funny because of how crucial his goals are to them.
I love my mom and dad
And they love you too
I’m sure they are not the ones who down voted you.
Don’t know about anybody else, but a couple of irritating calls aside, I found it very refreshing getting to watch a big premier league game minus a rampant egomaniac of a ref determined to make the whole day all about him. The premier league should try that out more often
Overall a good performance, but his yellow to Odegaard and talking to to Timber when Gvardiol prevented a quick free kick made my blood boil a bit
Who cares, staying humble
Ref was good today
He was less bad than usual.
Come on, credit where its due. He was fine. We never notice the decisions in our favour (like Michael Oliver calling Kyle Walker out of position so Calafiori could score) which makes me smile every time I think about it come to that.
I don’t think FMO realised what he was doing. There was nothing he could do afterwards as no laws were breached. Having said that, when had it ever stopped him?
If Bernardo Silva had had a red shirt on…….
Well said – the only glaring one was Silva doing a Declan (plus kicking Trosser into the bargain) with zero sanction.
I knew it.. Almost everybody was all about Nwaneri but the first time I watched Kelly play, I told my friend that guy is the hottest thing out of the Academy. Calm, deceptively strong, interesting decision-making.
Why is Arsenal actually happy when Gabriel is having a goal draught? His trademark header isn’t there anymore. He even has the gut to tell Haaland to stay humble. He’s lucky that Micheal Oliver isn’t the ref. Completely unacceptable!
As a Celebration Police, we can’t look away from that.
Anyway, CYOG!
Looks like many people don’t get my joke. Wait until Neville says it. He’s the head of Celebration Police.
Just sharing his opinion here
Nah – those are the 10 Citeh players… Haaland is still sulking in Big Gabi’s pocket so couldn’t join in.
I got it 🙂
Scoring from open play, it’s our new secret weapon.
Sarcasm is an artform. Keep practicing is the message
He is on a bit of a drought?
Im thinking ‘cmon Jover and check out MLS’ deliveries. Who knows 🤷♂️
Just a shout to MO today. He maybe wasn’t as amazing on the ball as he can be but fuck what work rate and drive!
Perfect captain and my MOTM.
He was actually pretty bad but you can never fault his work rate and intelligence.
A couple of dodgy touches and passes here and there, but as Rice said, his work rate is really underrated, was key today.
His best performance of the season, hope he carries on like this
Martin Odegaard – next great Arse skipper… future Arse legend.
Questionable referring once again. I’m sorry but I’m not happy with calls made, even if we had scored 10. Silva should have had at least 2 yellow cards. On the other hand, a proper beating handed out to City. Happy for the team. Congrats to youngsters for showing pure class and confidence.
He was a shadow of the ref we had in the Champions League mid week.
First 15min city players delayed the restart 3 times and there was a foul on Havertz near the middle of the pitch which weren’t given as a yellow.
We had players sent off twice for delaying restarts. I still think there should be some legal ways to tackle this.
There was a barge on Trossard which I thought warranted a yellow.
True that! And he kicked out at Leo after a foul was given against City! I was aghast that Sky didn’t even show a replay of it.
That kick on Trosser (whilst he was lying on the ground) also actually kicked the ball away – and further than Declan did!
Silva is terrible when he’s losing. He actually wanted to get sent off to avoid the shame but the incompetent ref bailed him out.
Kicking out at Trossard, after fouling him. No card!
After our first goal from a teenager, he knew their season is done. Instead of handling it with the slightest bit of class or maturity, this little creep responds by literally kicking a defenseless player on the ground, not even pretending to be going for the ball. Then he kicks at Nwaneri, again not even pretending to go for the ball. Silva is a dirty little prick. The Premier League refs don’t care about that though, they have to be focused on sending off Arsenal players for “delaying the restart” the same way players on every team do every game… Read more »
Silva seemingly never gets punished for his repeated cynical fouls
What a snide little bastard he is – getting done by a teenager so he tries to cause an injury.
Thomas Partey!! Hats off to the fella. Best season he’s having for us. It’s going to be such a task to replace him.
Why replace him?
Give him a 2 year contract and allow Jorginho to succeed elsewhere
We should give him a new contract. Zubi will need time to get used to the EPL pace. With him and Zubi, we’re covered.
Most definitely, if Partey and Jorgi leave, that means the team needs to sign a midfielder for cover. I think it would be much better to continue Partey, and use the funds to bolster the attack
There are infinite universes, and we’re living in the one where TP is staying fit and in top form. So glad!
What a result that is! Everyone played out of their skins today, even the subs coming on. Buzzing with that.. big shout to Havertz getting that goal after the first half miss.
We looked very good when we decided to turn the screw.
I have serious admiration for Havertz.
Lot of people give out……
I don’t!
The bonus today is the “resurgent ManU shited”
We usually look good when we decide to turn the screw, instead of sitting back.
Partey was immense today. Get in!!!!!
Also.. my bonus rating is 0/10 for Gary Neville on commentary. Have that Gary!!
That’s the thing with Kai, he could have crumbled so so many times so far in his Arsenal career, but every single time he comes back from a bad moment to be even better. That’s the sort of mental fortitude I want on our team.
Deserves massive respect, good player, works hard. Not a natural striker, but that is not his fault.
I’d say he’s one of de first on Mikels team sheet.
But wtf does he know ?😂
Scored 15 this season, basically double anyone else in the squad. He ain’t as bad as he can sometimes look. Gets in the right places, keeps getting there. I’d guess his shot conversion stats are comparable with a lot of no.9s.
He might very well have comparable numbers to top strikers, and 15 goals in all comps this season is a good return, but problem is the those glaring misses like in the 1st half. In games you win by 4 goals, it’s just an after thought but in tight games where chances are few and far, conversion of those chances make top strikers the difference maker. Salah (not playing striker) for Liverpool has been doing it for some years. Without him Liverpool would be well off the points tally. Kai is a great asset, but we do often cry out… Read more »
Salah in a prodigy though, a genuine out of this world one in billion. Most strikers miss lots of open goals. It’s just football.
He is a unicorn
Arteta is underrated as a man manager. Have you ever heard him blame a player, or criticize his work rate? He’s encouraged the fans to show Kai love, and it’s helped.
The Hale Enders could teach the senior members of the team that it’s perfectly OK to make driving runs at the opposition instead of hesitating and playing back or side to side. Well done, kids !!
Well one found that to be MOST Satisfactory indeed…
Stay humbled city
Very entertaining game to watch, I haven’t seen Arsenal turn up the gears like that in a long time. Encouraging to see, let’s carry this energy over to the cup game!
🎵Stay humble you twat
stay humble you twat
erling Harland
stay humble you twat 🎵
😄😄😄😄😄😄
Compounded by another Saka-like goal from Ethan.
I’m delirious – this is wonderful ❤️❤️❤️
Over rating again we were poor for along time in this game. Havartz was slow and missed a sitter. We let city come at us with no leadership to change it resulting in the equaliser. When the young lad came on he looked the class apart we need. This Arsenal side should be top of this league if only we had got a central forward who you can rely on. Open your eyes why are we so far behind Liverpool at this stage.
No leadership to change it? Everyone on the team was putting pressure on them when they tried to get into our box. Their goal came from an excellent cross and Haaland out-muscling Saliba. Conceding the goal galvanized our attacking and we went on to score 4 more. Liverpool is playing lights-out right now, they’ve still dropped points and likely will again. We haven’t been able to field a consistent team all season and we’re only 6 points back.
Who shat in your cheerios?
Funny reply, wrong person dude
But we don’t. Couldashouldawoulda. Enjoy the ride man.
49 goals in 24 games in the PL alone. Maybe it’s your eyes that are closed
You are in the wrong blog.
Your daily reminder that Arsenal could win 5-1 every single game and there will still be squealing, whining, terminally online “fans” screeching incessantly about how X should’ve been done betterly and more gooder.
Crawl back under your rock, Ange.
Axel- don’t smoke any more of that shit! You’ll end up in a bad frame of mind- permanently! No team is perfect, only ManC155ty for the last few years, so they say! The mental strength of our current team is immense, but as you point out, we can have our off days, like today for instance? Hope we get better for your sake..
Gosh. I’m glad you’ve got football to project your anger and pain onto! Genuinely, it might be worth reflecting on how to live life a bit more happily. All life is is a series of experiences, thoughts and feelings. If yours are bitter and angry and critical, that is what your life ends up being about.
Good performance. Allez les Gunners
Havertz ain’t a great striker !!! But what a great player that lad is for the team & that is why he’s so important !!! Excellent performance from everyone but Raya take a bow son ! And TP5 ??? Give him a 2 Year contract with a clause in saying never to play full back again but just control games from midfield ! I can’t mention MLS & Ethan Nwaneri as I have to wear these pants again tomorrow !!!
Adidas need to drop some MLS & Nwaneri custom merch right now, I’d sell my kidneys to buy it.
I did suggest not to go that far, the way those two are evolving you may be required to consume lots of celebratory beers.
