Report: Arsenal 1-2 Wigan (inc goals)

Arsenal fell victim to giant-killers Wigan, on a high after beating United in their last game, losing 2-1 at the Emirates tonight.

The Gunners started brightly and showed intent straight away. Thomas Vermaelen smacked a low shot just wide from a good 35 yards and a couple of minutes later Al-Habsi made a fingertip save to deny Yossi Benayoun’s header.

Then it went a bit mad. From an Arsenal corner Wigan broke at pace, di Santo was played in, Szczesny got a touch but it looped up in the air and the Wigan striker got the final touch to make it 1-0.

The visitors then made it 2-0 a minute afterwards. Victor Moses showed great skill to beat Sagna down our right, his cross deflected out into the path of Szczesy, but as he got down to claim, Jordi Gomez got a touch, the ball squirmed under the big Pole and the Spaniard poked it home to increase their lead.

Arsenal lost Mikel Arteta through injury, bringing on Aaron Ramsey to replace him and Arsenal got their way back into the game. Again Al Habsi made a flying save to deny another Benayoun header but in the 21st minute we got one back.

Tomas Rosicky turned Moses in midfield, whipped in a lovely cross from the corner of the Wigan box and Thomas Vermaelen timed his run perfectly to bullet home a header to make it 2-1.

It was a half of many attempts, Arsenal made 14 to Wigan’s 9, but the away team always looked dangerous on the break and only a last gasp block/clearance from Djourou prevented another Wigan goal.

At the other end Santos showed some Brazilian skill in the box before shooting over, Rosicky probed as Wigan sat deep and Robin van Persie had a good chance with a free kick but his attempt went over the bar.

You might have expected an Arsenal onslaught in the second half but it didn’t quite materialise. There were chances, Santos shooting twice and the deflection just falling behind van Persie and Walcott waiting at the back post, and the Brazilian should have equalised when he somehow stabbed a van Persie crossed wide from 6 yards out.

At the other end Wigan looked dangerous on the break, Victor Moses going clean through but took his shot too early.

In the final stages we brought on Gervinho for Benayoun, but the Ivorian looks a long way from the player who provided goals and assists early in the season. Oxlade-Chamberlain replaced Djourou but Arsenal’s main second half failing was overplaying. Too often we were caught in possession when a pass was on, thus denying us the chance to build up the pressure and force Wigan back.

Roberto Martinez’s men were guilty of some time-wasting and while it’s frustrating for us, who the fuck could blame them? Andre Marriner booked Al Habsi in the 92nd minute, hardly a deterrent but it wasn’t their time-wasting that cost us the game.

It was a mad couple of minutes in the first half and too many Arsenal players off the boil tonight that gave Wigan their first ever win at Arsenal. They’ve just beaten us and United in consecutive games, fair fucks to them.

For us it’s time to regroup and make sure we take the points against the blue scummers on Saturday.

Old man grape

meh…

Maddo

Lots of #arsenal kiddies on Twitter throwing their toys out of the pram tonight. One week you are the best team in the world the next week you are ****
I thought Wigan played and defended exceptionally well. Our wingers ( yes you Theo) was not in the game. Next games are Spurs Play QPR away, and Newcastle the team in form plays Stoke, who looks shattered due to their European escapades. I see a tight end of season three way soiree.
Arteta must return for the Chelsea game and we must win .

Old man grape

who would they be then?

even when we win those same guys are spitting their dummies out.

I still think this is gonna go down as my favourite season in a long while.. just too fucking weird.. 10 defeats and still 3rd, how?!

i’m not even worried about the chelsea game. the form show’s an easy 6-niller to the boys in red and white.

but i’m gonna watch them get spanked against those DNA cunts first to take my mind off a not very fun night watching the can-i-b-arsenaled =-D

Supermaxiboy

Why are so many Gooners against Ramsey, give the guy a break (ok, bad joke). So none of you have noticed how slack and lazy Song is? How many simple passes he gives away? How he always looks like he’s playing a training game? Watch Parker, that’s how you play in that position. (fuck I hate the fact that those cunts bought him). Anyone noticed how Wallcott doesn’t have a first touch…sometimes a second touch? Not good enough to be considered in that position in a club like ours. Djourou…simply not good enough, his defending instincts are frightening. Anyone also… Read more »

fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

gunner16

arsenal players just want it easy all the time. each one tries to free ride off of the others. Walcott and Ramsey are so poor, so poor. hope arteta comes back cause i’m starting to distrust that fool Aaron Ramsey. “he will come good” and “he will score goals”. sorry. fuck that. fuck him. sell him

waitressinthesky

Loan him. Calm down. I don’t wanna see him out there, either.

AMURICAH

It def. wasn’t all ramsey’s fault, where the hell was song most of the game, he was chillin with van persie, where were our wingers, santos was all over the fuckin place, the ox came on and lost the ball countless times and wouldn’t even try to win the ball back, our best players vermaelen, rosicky that’s it

Old man grape

ramsey was sent by the russians to destroy arsenal from within.. that’s what i just read today.
is it a coincidence that every time we lose ramsey gets paid at the end of the week.
there’s something going on here and i wont stop until ramsey goes out on loan or until wenger realises that he’s just been lucky all along…cry cry cry..

alistair

Is Ramsey the next Dennilson??

Highberry

Yep, you’re right, every game we’ve lost has been Ramseys fault. Jesus this is just getting boring now

Old man grape

I was having a bit of. Laugh there btw.
I def shouldn’t try any stand up then.

Highberry

Sorry Old Man Grape I got the sarcasm in yours that was aimed at Gunner16!

goonero

besides barcelona, name any team in the world that has an “easy” time breaking down opposition that are content with parking the bus after the TENTH MINUTE! started time wasting by the twentieth! stopped bothering trying to get forward by the 60th!

AMURICAH

I agree with you 100% but we really shouldn’t be down more than 1 goal against wigan regardless

Young Gooner

Not to use ref as an excuse, but ref seems reluctant to give any card for their time wasting tactic and when we play every dead ball quickly, ref asked them to take that again. It was very disappointing. It must be some recent events that ref’s robbed Wigan when they played against Chelsea and didn’t allowed an obvious goal against Man U. Sigh.

Jose Mourinho

Real Madrid

Runcorn Gooner

Arteta goes down injured. We have 10 men so what do we do launch a full out
attack with no defence. Then still with 10 men we get caught again.Who was in
charge of organisation with 10 men on the field?

Cygan's Left Foot

Because those players have gaven up listening to the manager a long time ago. They know no matter how off form player play the manager won’t drop him.

I feel sorry for Szcz, Verm, Kos, Sanga, Jack, Ox and RVP they love the club and want it to win things but under this manager they will win nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Highberry

What about Gervinho? He seems to have been dropped recently…..

Voldermort

Did anyone at arsenal even bother to watch the Wigan and man u game.
Sooner or later giving silly goals away before we decide to start playing was going to catch us out.
Credit to Wigan, a team that looked liked they had something to play for.
Gerv, walcot Ramsey and song just not at the races today. To many players that cannot dictate play.

gunner16

is ramsey ever at the races?

Highberry
Cygan's Left Foot

You just knew that no matter who gets injured or what position, Ramsey was going to be the first sub. No matter how good was Benny and crap was Theo, you will get Gerv in place of Benny. And the Ox in the last 15 minutes. When Arteta was down and getting treatments we conceded two goals. We were losing by two goals and Wigan putting 10 man defending….. Why not put the OX on, who can take players on and switch with Benny between the LW and CM instead of the off form Ramsey????? The curse of the ACN… Read more »

Chaplin35

Fair play to Wigan, very well played. Is it really worth keeping Theo who MIGHT contribute in games but is more than likely not to do anything worth of mentioning? Not taking on any players (lack of skill completely compared to The Ox), not tackling, no aggression, not getting back to help Sagna. And all his passes are behind him or just pointless passes not creating any sort of threat. And just as I said a week or so ago, he CAN talk the talk but when it comes down to walk the walk he is nowhere to be seen.… Read more »

waitressinthesky

Agreed. Those two need loans. Benayoun was performing ably. I trust him to knock home a goal late on. Not the other two.

Goonerhaea

Yes, Wigan played well. And not to sound bitter, because I am over those cunts, but in addition to that Wigan played well if playing football well means doing great for 7 minutes, scoring two goals through a mix of effort and a bit of luck, then wasting time every opportunity you get.

And that was a cunt of a referee if I ever saw one. Rant over.

Goonerhaea

Oh… And Thumbs up to our play making left back. The first of his kind! And they say we don’t have a play maker.

gunner16

truly wonderful performance. enjoyed every minute of it. especially the outstanding pair of theo walcott and Aaron Ramsey. masterclass.

Thomas

Song did a good job too…

goonero

sarcasm noted, but ramsey didnt do much wrong..didn’t exactly sparkle but he didnt go tits up like theo did today…

Thorough

@Gooner0. Passengers dont do much wrong, it is the drivers that are always culpable. Even Ox in 15minutes did more wrong than Ramsey. Why? He was hurstling like Rosicky, trying to make things happen, bursting a gut. Ramsey didnt do much wrong? He did nothing actually, just like Theo whom will play no matter how shit he performs.

goonero

comparing the ox and ramsey is apples and oranges stuff, as a direct player, he takes risks and tries to go past players, ramsey came on in the arteta role of, moving things along and showing some discipline in the midfield area in terms of the right time to go forward and the when to sit deeper. For me he did that well enough and was certainly no passanger, someone has to do that job and he did. I think I sympathise with theo in that, hes never been, nor will he become a player that beats his man with… Read more »

Alex

I thought the Ox showed his immaturity when he came on, tried to win the game himself rather than creating openings through the team. Few good crosses but if you’re going to criticise Ramsey then you have to accept the Ox wasn’t fantastic.

I personally was disappointed in Santos. I thought he crowded the space around the box too often, we missed Gibbs ability to go past his defender on the outside.

Thorough

@Goonero. Apples and Orange my foot! Sorry, but the Ramsey I saw was not up for it. He was opting out of 50-50 balls, he was hesitating where a little daringness would have been the best. Did you see the way Rosicky and Benayoun marauded forward, intercepted passes, made things happen? And a younger Ramsey should be doing that rather than those 30year old. And the Arteta role isnt a limitation mate, it was from there he stole the ball against Man City, bombed forward and unleashed a howitzer against Man City. But the Ramsey I saw was casual, slow,… Read more »

Win the next four games.
Period.

Old man grape

on the bright side.. we still hold 3rd place.. so not time to think about sinking ships.
well done wigan.. even though i could of smashed my screen from your time wasting crappola.
do us a favour and stay up now.. other wise this result will really get on my tits.

poor

Runcorn Gooner

When TW has a stinker he really has a stinker. He bottled everything tonight.
Poor team performance starting with that mad few minutes at the beginning.
Some of this team have really got to look seriously at their performance.
Congrats to Wigan.Hope they stay up

AMURICAH

he really isn’t the right choice for a team that will park the bus no matter the scoreline, someone was needed with more invention

Chaplin35

Wait for another frustrating performance by him at the Cunt on Trent…

CAGooner

As Charlie Brown used to say, “AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!” What a frustrating 90 minutes.

It looks like Wigan will avoid the drop and I have to admit they earned the three points today. To utilize a sports cliche that’s appeared in these threads too often, “They wanted it more.”

heihaci

where was the mental strength?

Just hope we can bounce back again and finish third but definitely need to buy some quality like Eriksen

Spooner

We’re still third, I think.

Trevor

Didn’t see the game, followed via the Live Blog.

But this a terrible result anyway you cut it. This gives the impetus to the chasing pack, could have been 8 pts up, even if the others did have a game in hand. Damn well better show up on Saturday.

Absolutely need to get 3rd after the past seasons of the August CL qualifiers, can honestly do without those.

The only positive, if there is one, it still in our hands. Win the last 4 games and 3rd is guaranteed.

baygooner

Indeed. Who are our last four?

Maddo

Chelsea, Stoke, Norwich and WBA

Mooro

Well it’s embarrassing to say, but Wigan were just better than us tonight. First to every ball, then to the second ball and fought like tigers.

We were at our headless chicken worst. No real idea of what we were doing when we had it and always looked dodgy when they broke.

Sagna was bossed, very unusually, Ramsey went round in circles, Song needs to stop reading the papers and Theo had a Theo.

This better not fuck up our St Totts day plans.

Spooner

I actually don’t think we were that bad. Woeful positioning & Chesney a bit unlucky for their goals. Wigan took their chances, broke up our momentum (which they were allowed to do with all the time wasting) and we couldn’t make our dominance pay.

I’d like Wigan to stay up as I like Martinez & the way he tries to make them play, but I’d love to know who was paying the ref tonight. ‘Arry or Roman, take your pick.

Spooner

Woeful positioning by Djourou for the goals, I meant to say. Sorry, a few got sunk for a Monday..

Cygan's left testicle

SAF organised this one believe it or not.. he already stated before the game, arsenal will lose…

Jamie

Wigan wanted it more.

Spooner

The ref wanted Wigan more.

Innovstar

What a load of crap, Theo needs a good coqing!

Rob'67

Firstly /wigan deserved it and played really well.

But games like this show how much we miss Cesc. Once Arteta went there was zero creativity and it showed. I said on another thread we need a Hazard type player – and we do. But that’s for next season.

Ramsey’s form continues to slide. Walcott having been really good recently reverts to anonymity and Gervinhio offers little, or nothing as a game changer.

So we now have zero room for error. Let’s hope Chelsea are worn down badly by Barca tomorrow night.

waitressinthesky

History has shown that w/o Arteta, our game play suffers massively.

Right now, we have one SOLID XI… our bench is scary. Still scared every time Ramsey gets a touch (aka backheel).

baygooner

True, these games show much we miss Cesc but Hazard isn’t that type of a player. I felt that a lot of players (eg. Song) ran at defenders or tried to go for the glory ball when the simple pass would’ve done. That could’ve been the way we unlocked them.

Gandalf

Shame about the result, although its lovely to watch Rosicky these days.

AMURICAH

he’s so ellegant when he dribbles the ball in little circles and then beats the man

Gooner13

He’s not a man. He’s a machine

AMURICAH

we had to sell denilson’s soul to the devil to fix him, it was a risk arsene was willing to take

Eric Irish gunner

Bollox, need to beat them chavs at the weekend, Wigan played well but a shower of time wasting fuckers

Cygan's left testicle

Those 3 minutes at the beginning cost us dearly, it gave them the opportunity to sit back for most of the game and hit on the break..We often struggle to get past the bus in these games.
What happened to Arteta btw? I was to busy going mental and then I went to my happy place to calm down and missed it entirely!
Oh well, The chelsea game is alot more significant now,, The OX and Walcott on the wings please.

waitressinthesky

Was wondering the same thing. Please someone, tell us he’s OK!

Old man grape

he’s on crotches with a protective boot, and wenger says its bad.

Spooner

Bent as a nine bob note that was. Nothing for Theo getting cynically barged off the ball by the last man, yet Rosicky rubbing shoulders with their player warrants a free kick? Do me a favour.. They will never let us win anything.

What an absolute cunt that referee was, or is, unfortunately.

Fatgooner

Absolute fucking garbage. Didn’t even turn up. The defending in the first 10 minutes would have been embarrassing for an under-12s Sunday side.

For the second time in the last month we underestimated a so-called weak team and got what we deserved.

Chez played well in the second half but was at fault for both goals, he bottled it for the second.

Now we’re are back to fighting with Spurs for fourth.

Fuck.

PS. Massive respect for Wigan: they have got the guts and character that our players don’t.

Where’s Tony Adams?

Mooro

I don’t think we underestimated them, they were just better. That’s even worse. I think.

goonero

they got the rub of the green, simple as. took their 2 chances and bagged two goals then spent the rest of the match time wasting when they had the ball or defending like mad when they didnt.

Old man grape

thats why they are 17th in the league i guess.

AMURICAH

they played defense in the first 10 minutes the same way I play defense in fifa when I’m losing by like 3 goals, just run at the player with the ball and hopefull they mess up

Rodders1971

Walcott was shocking,Arsene should’ve subbed him for the Ox at half time. The ref was shit all game but no excuses tonight really, you have to say well played to Wigan-apart from the timewasting

goonero

he was bad, but in arsenes defence theos form is a bit bi-polar, remember 5pur2, playing shit one half, bags a brace the next…

matt

It appears that we are robin hood
we steal 3 pts from the rich and give them to the poor

Old man grape

fucking golden =-D

CAGooner

Props to Matt for the best comment on this thread!

gooner odst

Poor play, Walcott went missing but kept playing, Benayoun should have scored 2 early on and overall we lacked claws and fangs to rip up a Wigan side who played like they were fighting for 2nd place.

I guess we saw the united/wigan game and thought ‘yeah, our form will beat them’. Between the QPR and Wigan results i would have taken 1 loss not 2.

Tristian

Song is getting really complacent and lazy recently. Dwells on the ball and loses it alot and I swear if he tries to chip another ball over the top ill go mad

goonero

bar the games he was suspended for, he has played in every single match for arsenal this season, not that tiredness should be an excuse for a professional athlete especially since we aren’t involved in anything other than the premier league, what I’m angeling at is that theres no one fighting with him for his position, spurring him on, and giving him a breather every now and then

What's my name?

What in the world do we do with Ramsey, Theo and Gervinho? They can be so terribly frustrating most of the time.

Mooro

That’s the politest rant I’ve ever seen. Good man.

Old man grape

and about all that really needs to be said on the subject imho.

Jim Jimminy

That was awful. What do they do at training?! Do they read the papers? Are they unaware that Wigan are on a bit of a run. Its unacceptable. After all the crap they spout after they lose about not making mistakes. Its bollocks. And as for Walcott, what does he do?! It’s like playing with ten men. He talks the talk and falls flat on his face. He should stop talking and get back to the training ground. I’m starting to think that maybe selling him would be the best thing to do, i’m sure we could 20 million, i’m… Read more »

Jim Jimminy

This may be a bit over the top. But i’m angry. I feel better now thanks. Apologies for any offence caused.

arsefriend

No, you were right about Walcots pre-game talks. Really, how can you talk that much about Wigans resurgence and “fall flat on your face” when funs are eagerly waiting for your goal. I don’t know about selling him but I know liverpool are buying anything these days though.

ClvnGnr

Bullshit. Fucking bullshit. That’s what that second half was. Wtf was up with the referee asking us to retake free kicks because was a yard off? Fucking bullshit I tell you!

Spooner

Cygan’s Left Vulnerable New Gonad Named Rambo?

It's A Hammer Blow

Fair play to Wigan – the better side on the night. Really disappointing given the warning we’d had in their win against utd. Felt we missed Arteta tonight and Ramsey was a poor replacement, continually dithering on his decision making. Walcott was completely ineffective going forward and allowed Sagna to suffer a torrid time in defence. We seemed to come out after the break with a sense of urgency. That lasted about five minutes. There were opportunities to break quicker and get behind them but we didn’t seem to have the vision or the balls for that. Gerv and Cham… Read more »

welchie

Some poor individual performances and overall a frustrating and disappointing result. Agree with the comments about TW although Ramsey was no worse than many others – think he’s unfairly getting a hard time for someone in his still early stages. As Arseblog says though, Wigan fought and defended and played a smart game. Arsenal weren’t utter shit but they didn’t deserve to win. Online perspective as always!!!

jean62

So quick to come to Ramseys defence..Dont recall Ashavin having such luck…everyone wanted to cruxify him…double standards

AMURICAH

at least ramsey tries, he’s just not really up to it right now, I think that in a couple of years he could become quite a good player though

Peter

Three things, Jean: (1) Actually, Arsenal fans were not quick to judge Arshavin negatively. He was given time to prove himself, and initially he did. (2) Ramsey is not a 30-year-old who should be expected to be a senior member of the team. He is a 21-year-old who was thrown quickly and unexpectedly into the first team, despite a severe and recent interruption to his own development. (3) The most important difference between Arshavin and Ramsey, IMHO, is that Arshavin was pilloried because he didn’t put in the effort. Ramsey’s work rate is one of the best at the club,… Read more »

Barnet Gooner

Very well said Peter, Song was the main culprit yesterday. He should have stick to his task, till now Arteta was taking care of job whenever Song went wandering up the field but with him injured Wigan capitalised on Song.

Cygan's left testicle

Sometimes when i see Arteta,he reminds me of a Ken doll or something haha

Cygan's left testicle

Also, I completely missed what happened to him, hope our Spanish prince is ok.

meechy Gooner

RAMSEY IS A WORLD CLASS. WENGER HAD TO FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM!

goonero

parked the bus the second they had a chance, nothing but pure fucking luck for wigan! if not for their keeper they could have been the ones 2 nil down early on. We were never allowed a chance to equalize. 10 men behind the ball chasing and fighting for everything, forcing us to over commit and allowing them a chance to counter…a tactic thats been proven only too often to be very effective against us. The chelsea game next week just got a whole lot bigger..

Goonergirl

Unfortunately our luck ratio versus Chelsea is zero to none at the moment and, barring a miracle, we are fucked. Shit performance tonight. Still, there’s always a chance!

Cygan's left testicle

Why 0% chance next week?

Camilla

Thank goodness we’ll beat them with skill and class. Let’s leave luck to ManUre.

Old man grape

we’ve done very well v chelsea recently so i’m not sure what you’re on about mate.

and if anything, this season tells us that its an easy 3 against those c#nts

AMURICAH

contrary to what the media want chelsea isn’t back they are still shit, torres is still aweful, lampard still only passes backwards, their defense is still shaky, don’t listen to the media

baygooner

Thinking back on it, this was a typical game for our lads. We were unlucky with the keeper making 3 brilliant saves, the ball skewing away when we could have had a couple sitters, and Djourou’s shot was off by mere inches. This would’ve read completely different had those things gone our way. They just have to pick their heads up and beat Chelsea. The open game plays to our style so I’m looking forward to the Chelsea match.

Aamir

I got home late and turned it on and it was Arsenal 0-2 Wigan after 15 minutes….Wow. I didn’t realize Arteta wasn’t playing til late in second half. We run out of ideas too quickly. This result will show Wenger that we still need 2 more top quality players to be considered a truly top team. Podolski and Vertonghen are my choices. Wilshere coming back will help the midfield tremendously. We could have used his drive and creativity today. …Wigan deserved it, but FUCK them. anyway, hope we take our frustration out on Chelski. That is a must win game… Read more »

Camilla

Heh. your choices? Did you make them before all the ‘exclusives’ from newspapers saying we’re gonna buy them?

Old man grape

if you can’t work out that a player isn’t on the pitch you shouldn’t be giving any advice about team changes mate.

Dannyboy

If you play Djourou we will concede. His positioning as a centre back for the first goal was unforgivable. And Arsene gave him a 2 yr extension on his contract. Outragious

Camilla

Is that why we got two clean sheets with him starting this season?
Yes, he did have a bit of a bad game today, but seriously, have you regularly seen him play? He’s not as bad as some people would have you believe.

AMURICAH

everyone judges him based on how bad he was at rb, it wasn’t his position and as our 4th choice when everyone is healthy he’s better than a lot of starters in the prem. we’re lucky to have him if you ask me.

Camilla

I actually thought he was amazing at the Man City game at the Etihad. Right until that injury made him switch over to RB for the rest of the game.

charlie

would anyone contradict me if I said that outside, RVP, Arteta is the most important player in the team. Every time we lost possession, we would looked so vulnerable, it reminded me of January and the beginning of the season, even previous seasons. I’m not gonna berate Ramsey as is the wont of many a fan, but can someone tell me exactly what it is he brings to the team? Creativity? Ball retention? Goals? Sagna looked weary, Walcott was Walcott, Djourou still has something of the Sylvester about him. Bring the OX on at 60 mins, not 75 Arsene! And… Read more »

Camilla

I’d say Szczesney is more important. Kos is also very big. But I’d agree on placing Arteta in our Top 5.

GUNNERFROMUSA

First of all wigan played with purpose and full of commitment. We were not mentally ready for the game period. Seriously wtf is that? And next game is with chealse so now what? I’m very mad and ramsey is not ready for first team….. He can’t even run… Oh man shit I just don’t wanna see blew it away and end up 5th…remember once u lose confidence its hard to bring it back in last four games. By the way I’m watching the game again. That’s how mad I am. Fuck I called sick and stayed home for this

Mooro

You’re watching it again? Jeez you must be fucked off.

I’ve moved on to Googling pictures of Ellie Harrison. That’ll do for me.

Naija Gunner

Some player gave their all while most were shits, running up field and in the end nothing came out of it.

And Djourou can never improve with the way he is playing, Walcott and Ramsey well…time will tell, Gervinho waoh! The guy needs some serious drilling.

Naija Gunner

Few players gave their all while most were shits, running up field and in the end nothing came out of it.

And Djourou can never improve with the way he is playing, Walcott and Ramsey well…time will tell, Gervinho waoh! The guy needs some serious drilling.

Thierry Henry

We lose to Chelsea and we surrender third place. We beat them, then I’m sure we’ll be okay.

Theo Walcott

New Theo Walcott couldn’t make it, so he sent old Theo Walcott in his place. Arsene realised the mistake and switched to the other Theo Walcott, but he didn’t do much. Let’s hope the other Theo Walcott will come back for the Chelsea game.

Nikita

Arteta has broken his foot. I’ve not just thrown my toys all over my room, but out the fucking window. We should start the midfield we used against Milan.

Mooro

Oh fuck.

Bendtners_ego

At least we won a trophy this year for the best-looking lawn.

/sigh

GUNNERFROMUSA

Chealse game is do or die. We win and we are good to go. Cuz don’t forget guys newcastle play chealse and man city so coming Saturday is very crucial. Damn it I’m s mad…. I hope arteta feels better by the weekend. Send ramsey to red bulls here to play with Henry. He will teach him stuff

Nico

Us having only RvP to rely on in the striking department really lets us down. No other team in the Premiership has “only one” striker. When and if van Persie has an off day, or stuck playing against sides like Wigan who defended (extremely well) with three centre halves and two wing backs, what are our options? We rely on wingers. If Walcott and Benyaoun/Rosicky can’t break down a defence then Gervinho and Ox can’t either. Gervinho is like a left-wing Walcott when Walcott’s having a nightmare. Ox isn’t really that much better than either of them, despite what you… Read more »

You are right on belittleing “specific” players when things go wrong. Let me be honest with you, my heart sinks from watching when Ramsey/Theo touches the ball. On their days they will make you jump and roar but today oh well..
But you shouldn’t be mad on supporters coment, that is how things roll. You just hope that this players catch “the Rosiky” bus and take to it to the grooves.

jean62

You are not getting it…Everyone is hard on Ramsey and theo because they play bad too often..that cannot be said for Song and RVP

Gooner13

It was a horror of two minutes where they scrambled in two early goals. Then all they did was they kept on frustrating us by wasting time and the ref was so fucking insane, he helped them do that all the way. Even when we got fouled he didn’t even allow us to get the advantage or take a quick free-kick and stopped lot of our good attacks by doing that. We really missed Arteta, hope he’ll be back for the Chelsea game.

Old man grape

he’s fucked actually.. so that sucks
