He may not have to contend with the usual hacks at London Colney this week, but Arsene Wenger has been getting quite the grilling from continental journalists while at the 14th UEFA Elite Coaches Forum.
Having yesterday praised Steve Bould and spoken on the changing role of football managers in the modern game, the boss has also fielded questions from Turin-based publication Tuttosport on the decision to loan out fatty-bum-bum Nicklas Bendtner.
Here’s how it panned out…the answers make for intriguing reading.
______
Mr Wenger, is it not true that if you have let Nicklas Bendtner leave after the sale of Robin van Persie to Manchester United, he’s not a top player?
In Italy Nicklas can do well. He is not the top player that Juventus were looking for? For me he is a top player even if we had difficulties. The value of the player, however, is not in question.
We’re talking about a striker who played in the finals of the last European Championships and scored a great brace against Portugal, which is the only team that has been able to embarrass World and European champions Spain.
Excuse us, but if he is so good why have you not kept him?
I am convinced that at a team like Juventus, in a very difficult league like yours, especially for the attackers, he can make the final leap in quality. I believe this. We have not sold him, only leant him, and next year we’ll bring him home.
Last year he was on loan at Sunderland, he doesn’t seem ready to ‘explode’?
Indeed, but it served its purpose. Do not forget that he is a boy of 24 and therefore the right age to prove who he is. The talent is not missing; otherwise I would not have bought him from Copenhagen when he was just 16 years.

Arseblog News thinks it’s worth remembering that at the end of this season, Bendtner will still have two years left on his contract at Arsenal, and as such Wenger’s quotes need to be put in context.
If he plays well in Serie A, which is certainly a possibility, we could still recoup a decent fee for Bendtner – he remains a potential financial asset. Why would Wenger weaken his hand in future negotiations by admitting the player has no future at the Emirates?
As Sir Alex Ferguson said of Wenger after the sale of Robin van Persie: “He could run a poker school in Govan.”
Bendtner does not want to play for arsenal football club
Can’t see him coming back
A lot can change in football, very quickly too. He is a good player and given a run of games as striker could have been far more effective than the current backup.
Either way you protect your assets and maximise return. This may shock some of the folk who want Gospel daily.
“than the current back up”. don’t be afraid sir, just say it, it’s SHITMAKH isn’t it.
“He is a good player and given a run of games as striker could have been far more effective than the current backup.” So would a stuffed zebra. I’m sorry, but this guy just is not good enough to play at Arsenal, regardless of who else is down the pecking order. He cannot dribble, doesn’t score enough goals (even when played at centre forward WITH a run of games) and has an ego bigger than Robbie Keane’s forehead. All of which, in my opinion, make his loan/sale a very good thing to do. Chamakh and Park are another issue, although… Read more »
When he played at CF with a run of games, he scored 9 goals in 11 games, including multiple last minute winners (Wolves and someone else).
Just saying.
Correct, and didn’t Chamakh have a good run too?
I rest my case.
Wenger is an expert in dealing with these questions from shit-spreading journalists.
“fatty-bum-bum”
Good one.
Our Boss is a Genius. Love him.
Just realised the 52 on his shirt corresponds to the amount (in thousands) he is getting paid every week.
Class-y. Except now its also the size of his arse.
I always assumed it was because he thought of himself as a jet-powered bomber in striker terms. Was I wrong in thinking this?
It’s a comment on his career as a player.
Everywhere he’s been, he’s bombed.
52 is also his IQ.
This reminds me of what blogs wrote in the blog a few days ago about Arsene being asked what he wants for dinner…
MENDOZAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
(bet you get that often 😀 )
Wenger is the most gorgeous trollface in the football world.
Juve are arseholes, I think wenger is saying this now so that juve finally think to themselves “if wenger is holding bendtner in high regard, shouldn’t we too?,” regardless of how he does during the loan, juve we still buy him only coz wenger praised him just alittle to wind em up. Genius!
Dont fall for it juve, oh wait…….Fall for it juve!
Fuck him.
Never liked him.
New boys more than make up for our losses you will see.
Excuse us, but if he is so good why have you not kept him?
That question quite literally made me LOL!
Now everyone in the office knows im surfing the net 🙁
Fatty-bum-bum just as we say it here in Nigeria, lol!
that is ”all correct” my brother!
Fatty ”GSTEL 52” bum bum a hundred times over!
If bendtner is fat what is rooney?
A granny shagging cunt, I believe.
I like Bendtner.
I also like Arsene Wenger.
Which one do I like best?
Only one way to find out…. fight!! 🙂
B/S
You have to admire arsenes class, no matter who they are how how they treat him he always acts in with dignity when talking of players.
Shame he don’t get the same respect back from some of them.
Wenger just raised his transfer value by a few million quid
“The only team that has been able to embarrass
World and European champions Spain”.
Busquets playing for spain is enough embarassment in itself. Job done!
“Last year he was on loan at Sunderland, he doesn’t seem ready to ‘explode’?”
He’s not far off. Just a couple more cakes and BOOM!!!
me thinks bendtner is a top quality carlos vela with some ego.wenga is a fuckin genius.
Bendtner has fucked off to an inferior team cos he wasn’t good enough for Arsenal. He knows that, Arsene knows that and the fans knows that. But why should we tell the Italians when we want them to take him permanently for a tidy profit.
So on that basis, NB52 is the best striker we have ever had and we cannot afford to lose our best player (cough! spit! splutter! ahem!) to arguably the greatest club in the world right now..(you what!)..ok then..Italy
I hate that we have to talk about him again and again, it really sucks over the past 5-6 year we’ve had cunts who don’t want to play for Arsenal ,the selfish bastards.
Just some more pizzas and d cunt is gonna blot and “explode” as dey want. In between I wish Wenger acted like Di Canio at times and dress down some assholes whom disregard our club.
Di Canio is a mental cunt.
I love Di Canio and his attitude at Swindon. Making your goalkeeper apologise and lambasting your defender for scoring an own goal, comedy gold so far this season.
I get the feeling that Wenger is like that at times but keeps it in the dressing room. You look over his history and see some of the turnarounds after we’ve been losing and just think “that must have been one fuck off big hair dryer he used at half time”.
He is a fuckn nazi!
Let’s hope he does well, so we can sell him and move on.
Le Boss is increasing a million or 2 by not talking crap abt NB52. Genius @ work, i say.
He dodges the questions like a boss.
Arsene, he answers how he wants.
Arsene, he answers how he waaaaaaants!.
Say what you want about Wenger (and I do), but he’s a fantastic bullshitter! The truth about Bendtner is that he’s a decent Premier League mid-table striker, a kind of Scandinavian Kevin Davis, who could do a job for a Wigan or Southampton. But he was never good enough for a top-four European club with ambitions of winning the title and Champions’ League. It took arrogant, stubborn Wenger years to final admit that he was wrong, long after the world and his mother had sussed out that the big-arsed blond egomaniac was never going to be good enough. But Wenger… Read more »
When Didier Drogba was 24 he was in single figures for goals at some mid-table Ligue 1 side in France. Bendtner at a younger age has a goal every other game in Arsenal colours. So the truth is, when you make all these pronouncements about how you think a player is going to turn out, it just looks like you’re full of shit. I’m not gonna sit here and act like Bendtner is definitely the next Drogba or that he’s even a indisputably brilliant player – what I can do however is have the grace not to slag off players… Read more »
Bendtner doesn’t have “a goal every other game in Arsenal colours.” Not even close. Why do you keep saying this?
Because in 79 appearances he’s scored 45 goals, that’s why.
72 games played and started in an Arsenal shirt: 43 goals.. Just looked at the stats and I’m surpised as well! Like him or not, that’s impressive.. A goal every 164 minuts ~ or every other game.. 😀
What about the other 76 appearances as a substitute? His goals to games ratio is about 1 goal every 3 games, which would equate to 12 goals a season but we didn’t always get that.
153 appearances (all competitions).
If you’re just counting his starts, then you have to remove the goals that he scored as a sub. No wonder the guy has an over-sized ego…
Bendtner scored against Spurs….but he missed six hundred other chances to win every trophy on the planet.
You’re totally right. Wenger is a twat. I remember when he bought that french winger from juventus and insisted on playing him up front even though he hardly ever scored. What an arrogant stubborn twat. And Alex song will never be good enough for a top team either. Oh wait. Maybe we can let him be wrong once and a while yeah?
Not according to Fatgooner and CLF. Wenger is either mediocre or a waste of space, never anything higher
He’s not too bad a player, he just needs a fresh start. he did too much shit at Arsenal already. Bad attitude, clearing Cesc Fabregas’ winner off the line in a CL knockout, bad behaviour on loan at Sunderland.
Cmon Nick, make the Italians love you and piss off for good!
You stole that Nickname!
You know it and I know it.
Now pay me (in pizzas, or drugs)
You hypocrite, you stole your nickname!!
Ha! I just wore it for this special occasion.
hey guys what’s up
I think he does sexual favours. Don’t ask me how i know that.
Through his own fat-bellied ego, he’s just evolved into a very ‘non Arsenal’ player.
moving on.
But, he is too fat.
“Last year he was on loan at Sunderland, he doesn’t seem ready to ‘explode’?”
Oh he is, just a few more “you know who I am” free pizzas…..
Merlins p already covered that and he did a better job. *facepalm.
The guy’s deluded and needs to have a serious talk to himself.
If Arsenal want someone to just hang around night clubs and make a general nuisance of themselves at the club – then I will take the job – and for a tenth of that fuckers pay.
If only bendtner wasn’t such a bell end
And what proportion of his wages at Juventus – if any – are we paying Blogs, any ideas ?
Fuck all%
I just read all the comments, fml
Ya! Let’s all talk shit about the best striker on the books at arsenal!!! Look, I’m hoping giroud makes good and all, but let’s be real here, nicks the only cf we have/had with a goal scoring record in England. Why he’s fucking about in Italy whilest we still have that lizard looking chap in the squad kind of irks me. I know nicks a twat and all, but fucking hell…
Heh, chamakg does come off as quite the iguana I must say. Just thinking that now bendtner is a fat fuck it may be prudent to push on with the in shape guy. He is half shite/half striker but that’s all we got. Chamakh. Either way it’s a fucking disaster with our back up strikers.
He is heck of a negotiator.. I bet he would do a better job in middle east…the world would have been much peaceful place to live in..
This is the difference between astute managers like AW and stupid ones like Brendan Rodgers who reduce the market value of their own players and then bitch about the scenario that additional players couldn’t be bought due to lack of money. You will never generate enough revenue if you keep saying the player in question doesn’t suit you.
Wengerball is not the only thing BR should learn from AW.
Bendtner to Italy
Barton to France
Should keep the Police busy.
imagine if he had scored that goal against Barcelona thing could have been so different but he didnt and his attitude stinks although his skills are there to see. I hope that he finds what he needs there in Italy.
If he matures, he could be an excellent player for us. If Wenger doesn’t want to keep him, we will get 8-10m for him. It’s a win-win situation.
[…] to us because he is, after all, TGSTEL. Which prompted one of the Italian journalists present to ask this rather pertinent question: Excuse us, but if he is so good why have you not kept […]
I’ll be BACK!

Hey Blogs,
Since we have no match this weekend, how about you tell us of Djourou’s thoughts on the impact of the recent LIBOR scandal on Obama’s chances on getting re-elected?
These outright lies are what kills me about Arsene. Truth: You only loaned out Bendtner because nobody would buy him at the price we were asking because he’s overpaid!!!!!! Same reason we can’t sell off quite a few players.
If NB52 were believed in that much and was that level of quality he’d be playing more at Arsenal. He wants out because he can’t get a chance. He can’t get a chance because his attitude is terrible and he’s just not good enough for Arsenal.
