Frimpong pleased for ‘best friend’ Wilshere

Having grown up on a football pitch together it must have been quite a moment for Emmanuel Frimpong and Jack Wilshere to be reunited in the heart of an Arsenal midfield after their respective injury problems.

A real fillip both personally and for the club as a whole, both boys appear to have come away unscathed after featuring for the under-21s against West Brom and will likely continue their rehabilitation next week against Reading.

Obviously bubbling with excitement, Frimpong took the time to praise his close pal for his performance in a much-anticipated comeback.

“I’m happy for him to be back playing with the team again and to see a smile on his face,” he told Arsenal.com. “After 14 months out, he did very well and he can be pleased with his performance.

“When you’ve been out for so long, it’s only natural you’re going to be tired [afterwards]. He needs more games to get fit. I think the England and Arsenal fans should be excited to see him back again.

“He’s probably my best friend at the Club. It’s only right because I’ve known him for 11 years. I’m just happy to be playing alongside him and I thought the team did well even though we lost the game – we can take some positives.”

Looking ahead to Wilshere’s potential impact at first team level, the Ghanaian enforcer made clear that the England international’s experience and pedigree mean he’ll have no problem getting up to speed.

“Even though he’s a young player, Jack has got loads of international appearances and he’s like a senior player in the changing room.

“I don’t think we have to give him any motivation to play out here. No matter what game he’s playing, he’s always willing to give his best.”

It’s been a roller coaster ride for both players in the last couple of years and while Arseblog News is very pleased to see both Frimpong and Wilshere on the mend it’s clear that they need to be treated carefully over the coming months. No doubt Arsene and the medical team, learning from past mistakes, will do just that.

When he returns properly, Jack will be my favorite LANS.
(I have to say; nice glasses on the Pongster.)

Ca$hley Cole

You beat me too it, I was going to say those glasses are pretty .. well if only there were a one word phrase suitable enough to explain how awesome they are

darn, never mind.

Arsene4PM

Just use the word “fillip”.

It seems to have been used in every article on here for the past month and I still have no idea what it means (too lazy to google).

glory hunter

Do you think its possible to have an article featuring Frimpong without anyone mentioning the ‘D’ word??

Who’ll be the 1st to crack?

I think he’s going for that Brother Mouzone from the wire look.

Smashing news for both players everyone knows How much tallent young jack has , but I think frimpong has the ability to become a top top midfield enforcer !

Lec

Jack is back, frimmers is dench, Adebaywhore on the bench, nasri on a hamtstring, rvp a cunt, diaby a beast regardless.

Naija Gunner

Frimmy is a real DENCH MAN, well done son.

DEEEEEENNNNCCCHHH

The future is bright. The future is DENCH.

Big Chief from Antarctica

BFG and Kosmaelen, LB and RB pretty solid. That’s defense.
Cazorla, Arteta and whoever is fit (Ox, Walcott, Ramsey, Gervinho). Arguably the or one of strongest midfield in the EPL. As for the forwarrds, only problem is converting the chances in winning moments. Chances enough. Giroud to shine.

Despite defeat against Chelsea (pretty much even), I see a winning team.
With Jack and Frimpong coming back, future long term is bright. Sagna, Rosicky and Diaby too coming back soon, future short term also bright.

To be a Gooner.

Midfield Corporal

Big chief, Kos and TV aren’t solid, they are both prone to errors and have been throughout their Arsenal careers. I prefer Kos though, I’m not sure about TV at all, I like his attitude but can’t recall watching him dominate forwards or stand out like Adams, Campbell or even Mertersacker did last week. Had to chuckle at your assessment of the forwards- only problem is converting chances in winning moments, that’s quite a problem to have though. Overall I think we’ll be slightly better than last season, although when you compare our results this season against the same teams… Read more »

100% agree on vermaelin. Fatgooner and I had the same conversation on another post yesterday. To me, he’s out third choice cb. Its just a shitty situation that Arsene creates by naming him skipper. It makes him an automatic selection when fit, even though he’s not the first or second choice. Arteta should have been made captain. Tv is a liability, there’s no way to sugar coat it. He’s off this summer.

Midfield Corporal

Totally agree Frog, Arteta is the perfect club captain, he exemplifies positional discipline for the sake of the team, TV is erratic, he’s good for a goal but I’d rather him defend.

Master Bates

Vermaelen off this summer ? that’s retarded .

I still think he’s a starter , the other two should rotate . I mean he does make mistakes , Someone pointed out instead of giving 110% percent he somtimes gives 180% which leaves space for strikers to take advantage , But that can be fixed if the other players actually deliver.

BTW we have conceded only 6 goals in all competitions , can any of you remember how many we had conceded without him this time last season .

Frog

Retarded? Why? Have you learned nothing the last few summers. Barca comes in with 15, we say no fucking way! Barca comes back with 15.50 and he’s off. Miquel

ImarnuelAFC

I hope Frimpong doesn’t go too hard on Wilshere in training and gets him frimpong.

Frimpong is Jordan Harper?

Just read somewhere that Gunnersarus, the Arsenal mascot, refused to shake John Terry’s hand before the game. LMAO!

Midfield Corporal

Do people actually use Dench in conversation now? Are we likely to see it entered into the oxford English Dictionary in 5 years? When I was little we used to say something was ‘skill’ if we liked it, for example if you could pull a wheelie on your Grifter that was truly ‘skill’ because it was the heaviest bike ever created, but it looked ace…….sorry Dench.

the only sam is nelson

you pulled a wheelie on your grifter?

chinny bo!

Midfield Corporal

No, never managed it, think you had to be He Man to do it. Chinny Bo? Was that like Jimmy Chin? When you stroked your chin if you didn’t believe someone?

THEREISBEARCUM

I saw a dude on the tube the day of the Southampton game wearing a Dench t-shirt.

I just yelled DEEEEENCH right in his face.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me.

He's got no hair but we don't care...

Would have been nice to see Frimpong in that midfield on Saturday issuing some crunching tackle DENCH justice.

Dame Judi Dench

Well, when I was little, we always said John Terry is a c*nt.

Frog

Heh

lonsdale

I’m waiting for the Arsenal store to start selling DENCH™© t shirts. Officially endorsed by Frimmers and the Lethal Biz
