After a truly horrific week for Arsenal Football Club it looks as though Arsene Wenger has thrown caution to the wind and decided that if Gunners fans are driven by fear, why not give them something positive to gnaw on. And that something is Jack Wilshere…
Yep, after urging restraint by stressing Wilshere alone is not able to save English football, the boss has decided to change tact by promising his young protégé will only get better and better…despite the fact he hasn’t played for the Arsenal first team in 14 months.
Asked whether the 20-year-old midfielder will return to the level he reached prior to his injury, the boss spoke in glowing terms about a bright future for the new no.10.
“It is not possible, it is certain. He will be a better player,” he said.
“If you have this kind of injury at the age of 20 you will take off again and move forward normally. At his age it is no problem.”
Making clear that he didn’t expect Wilshere to be tentative dealing with the physical side of the game, the boss continued:
“We even have to calm him down.
“He goes for every challenge and has no apprehension. If you protect the ball and somebody tackles you from behind and kills your knee, when you come back it will be difficult to protect the ball in the same position.
“Jack has none of that. He has not been injured in a specific tackle.”
It looks as though Jack will finally get some game time at the Emirates this Saturday, even just for a few minutes, and his return is certainly welcome.
That being said, as we’ve seen with the likes of Diaby, Rosicky and Ramsey recovering from a prolonged spell on the sidelines inevitably leads to further niggly problems which can take weeks, if not months, to shake out of the system.
While it’s great to have Wilshere as an option, it’s probably best to assume he won’t be a definite fixture on the team sheet week in, week out just yet.
We really want to see him back, but we have to be patient, I think he’ll be at his best just next season.
Thanks wenger – nothing like piling pressure on a bloke who hasn’t played first team footer for over a year……
I’d like to see him start tomorrow and us come out of the blocks against QPR and have the game won after 60 minutes. I know the premiership will have a different intensity to U21 games but he has come through 3 now and the last two with 90 minutes, he’s clearly done a lot of work in the gym too so his overall fitness should be decent. Realistically we should have a lot of the ball tomorrow and dominate the match, Jack’s drive from midfield is what we missed the last two games, he is very intelligent and I… Read more »
Have the game won by 60 minutes…what do you think this is, 2004?
Jump in this here DeLorean. We’re going Jack To The Future.
I’d take a nil nil at this point.
2004, up 3-nil in 20 mins… Those were the days.
^^^^ shut up!
Gee thanks for jinxing it..

Hehe
Right now i would settle for us being 1-0 up after 60 minutes….COYG..
We need to score a few because zamora normally fucking gets one against us
So a few equals 2 then?
As a team arsenal need a direct player and yes Jack is one. If the coach he is fit enough then he should. Also think we need another direct player up feed
Seriously what are you trying here?.
You’re sentense construction is horse dung.
QPR haven’t won yet this season. Don’t we usually give teams like this a point or three to help them on their way?
That’s what I love about Arsenal. We do a lot of charity work.
Indeed yes. I believe we do not get enough credit for the charity work we do for slightly shitty teams. I class this as a trophy. Mental strength.
You just had to say ‘Mental Strength’ , you couldn’t help it
I enjoy playing the ‘Arsene Wenger drinking game’, which you can play while watching one of his press conferences. Every ‘mental strength’, swig a beer. Every ‘I believe’, drain your glass. Every ‘he’ll be back in two weeks’, take a hit of heroin.
As much as I love him, sometimes he’s maddening.
I believe it’s in line with Points Fair Play. Rest assured it will kick in by 2014 and shity, manure and chelshit would all have to drop points to be fair.
It’s a scam all that charity, gives Silent Stan a tax break y’see
The mentioning of Abou Diaby gives one the most bittersweet feelings that can be experienced. Fuck, he’s talented, but I guess its really apparent when he’s missing. I just hope that he, Jack, Arteta, and the rest of our midfield can just stay fit, along with Alex, Walcott and the rest of the more influential members of our team, because even though I’ma a gunner till death, how long do we have to wait until we no longer hear cliches, and until we longer hear fucking pundits and the like saying ‘same old arsenal’ and whatnot. For once, I wanna… Read more »
Well, saving English football by yourself isn’t really a measly step up from getting better after injury, is it?
Geez, Arsene looked like he just came back from a funeral in that press conference.
It’s called the Arsenal AGM 2012, tends to demoralize those around it.
Not just those around it, also everyone who hears the usual bullshit that is trotted out….
If I had a womb I would have liked to have Jacks babies.
Gervinho says on AFC official site that he is enjoying the central role…….Anybody out there agree with that. For starters not me
Jack is going to be in an uncompromising position. If (and its a big if) we lose tommorow and Jack doesn’t play you can bet your bottom dollar that everyone and their dog will absofuckinglutely shit on Wenger. If we lose and Jack plays we are all going to shit on him for having ‘lost it’ during his sabbatical. But its gonna be all eyes on Jack to see if he can lift the place up, mind you playing along side Cazorla and Arteta is going to make it better for him. My logic meter says: play Wilshere in mid… Read more »
Blah Blah Blah Blah you losers you cant stop yupping..
Of course he’ll get better, how else are we gonna sell him. I’m sorry but I’m still pissed off with that fucking AGM meeting. PHW can suck my cock
I hope he doesn’t turn into a Diaby
That is racist, sir!
This weekend we are going to lose to The Mighty QPR..
COYG= COME ON YOU GAYS
You are so controversial, what a bell end!
FOYC, guess what that means?
Good thing if jack z gon play…figure he might stir things up a bit.
I am not optimistic about this match, but I am still going to watch it.I don’t have words,to describe this feeling,as long as we have players like Gervinho,Santos and a manager who sets himself mediore goals, and calls it being realistic,we have a very difficult task. What better evidence than our last two matches will convince this shiity board that Arsene Wenger is tactically inept manager. We need a change, the sooner the better. No more sympathies for wenger,if we had lost those matches despite wengers’ best efforts on tactical.front,I would have sypathaized with him, unfortunately this isn’t the case he was probably much worse than our… Read more »

Arsenal ready to offload.
Chamakh,
Arshavin
Djorou
Squillaci.
Walcott…….here’s my take remove Walcott and put in fucking ramsey then remove arshavin and put in fucking diaby coz at this rate of “he’s two, three weeks away” we’ll probably see him mid-february. He’s a talent but he can’t help us when lying square flatass on the hospital bed every now and then.
By november first we shall have Theo Walkott, A. Diaby, G. Gibbs, T. Rosicky and W. Szczesny back which will be a booster to our squad. Long live Arsenal, long live gunners as a family.
