Ramsey looking for quick fire Gunners

One of the main narratives surrounding Arsenal at the moment is the slow-starting issue. A team that struggles to impose itself on games quickly enough and thus finds results more difficult to come by.

It’s something that Arsene Wenger has mentioned, and something the players are aware of. And ahead of today’s game against Aston Villa at the Emirates, Aaron Ramsey wants the Gunners to start well.

“We’re fighting hard for the Champions League position,” he told the official matchday programme, “and we’re going to have to be switched on from the beginning today.

“Hopefully our form in the league can continue with a good result. We want to put some smiles back on people’s faces and regain their confidence.”

And despite some poor results recently, the Welshman is feeling more confident about his own game these days.

“I’m feeling good. My confidence is coming back and I’m getting stuck in more, winning more balls back and doing more with the ball as well, moving it around quickly.

“Hopefully I can continue that now and help the team get back to winning ways against Aston Villa.”

The matchday programm is available on iPad – and jolly good it is too.

Rambo is such vital cog. Never shy’s away even when the likes of Santi do. The talent i saw in him when he scored 4 goals in about 12 games the season he got injured tells me we have a special player just waiting to burst through.

CLASSY GOONER

another bollocks from our player.its the action we want not mouthy lads….has our keeper talked yet!? something is really wrong

Blah

What is he supposed to say in an interview? You think they shouldn’t print a matchday programme?

Mike Dexter

well, that’s it! he’s jinxed it now!

Against Bayern, Walcott should have started on the right with Giroud as striker. Diaby should have started in midfield with Ramsey on the bench.

King Henry's Squire

Are you mental? Diaby has looked about as sharp as a butter knife his last few outings. Rambo’s work rate alone merits him that starting spot. The kid had so much potential before his injury, and now that he’s getting played in his natural position more often, it’s starting to show again. He’s part of the future, Arsene should let him do his thing. Better the future than the broken past…I hate to throw Diaby under the bus like that but there is no rational way to keep putting faith in him.

Gooner in Spain

Agreed on Walcott being completely ineffective through the middle, would definitely rather see giroud/podolski there. Diaby is not the player he was, he slows everything down and gives the ball away way too much. Would have liked to see rosicky in ramsey’s place.

Ramsey was the one that started really brightly against Bayern. Pity more didn’t do the same.

ballar

Can’t believe this is coming from Ramsey, this is a man that lost a clear cut chance against Sunderland. He’s here telling us to start games with high spirit.

Glory Hunter

Lets hope you score a screamer & put Piers Morgan out of his misery!

jason

How dare you speak of that man on this amazing site.

What a insult!!

Arsene Wenger just said 14 hours ago. “we have only had money recently to spend” and that he would sign a player like Falcoe if possible. 🙂 He said he would of spent at christmas if there was on top quality players available. Look guys there is some good players in this squad e.g. Oxlade Chamberlian. Next year we get two improved sponsorship deals so lets give him a chance to change things around. AW has bought good defenders in his time in recent times when we had Clichy, Toure, Gallas and Sagna we had one of the best defenses… Read more »

I still strongly maintain that we should sack him. Now. Or tomorow morning.

He's got no hair but we don't care...

Forget Rambo for a minute.

Can anyone tell me why the hell AW hasn’t played or brought on The Ox when we’ve badly needed a spark?

deji

What the fuck!!!… This has to be the laziest bunch of footballers I have ever seen. Only their coach is lazier than them. How can you continue to find excuses for wenger?… I don’t want trophies for GOD’s sake, I just want to watch an arsenal that plays beautiful football. You say they need time to gel, you are looking @ d freaking guy how can you pass behind him..continuously.

Louda

You are a fucking sorry excuse for a fan. Go do everyone a favor and support Spurs or Man City. Kthanxbye.

deji

Giroud is the dumbest fuck that ever played the game… He really shouldn’t call himself a footballer

Henry

Rambo putting actions to his words, put in yet another solid performance around some questionable performances from his midfield teammates…and after we take the lead…again you slotted seamlessly back at freaking LB!?!? Kudos dude, you’re bringing it…prove those dumbass haters wrong!

Lol

And these idiots call Ramsey lazy
