Per Mertesacker is winning over his Premier League doubters, according to Arsene Wenger.
Praising the leadership qualities the German has demonstrated during his recent stint as captain, the boss stressed that the centre-back has undergone a wholesale transformation since arriving from Werder Bremen two-years ago.
“He is becoming a recognised centre back with being a leader in our team,” Wenger told press on Friday.
“It took a while, but honestly I think he has improved in his mobility, his technical ability, his personality too.
“He is not the player today that he was when he arrived here. He is one of the leaders of the team.”
Talking of transformations, Aaron Ramsey has explained that he never doubted he’d find his form again.
“I never feared that I wouldn’t return,” he told the Sunday People.
“I felt it was always there. I just needed to believe again and get that confidence.
“I had a lot of support from friends and family, and I had the trust that the manager put in me.
“All these things added up over a period of time. You have to keep believing and working hard, and it just clicks all of a sudden and you are full of confidence
“I am delighted with myself and the team. After the disappointing start against Villa, we have turned things around.
“We have gone on a fantastic run and, hopefully, we can continue that and I can continue my form.”
Arseblog News can’t be the only one hoping that Ramsey’s caps off a fine week with a goal against the club whose player so nearly destroyed his career.
Fingers crossed some kind of pile-drive from the edge of the box which clips Shawcross in the loins and sends one of the Stoke man’s testicles into the eye of Mark Hughes. The way Rambo is playing it’s not out of the question…
I know everyone is saying it this weekend, but can you actually imagine how fucking incredible it would be if Ramsey scored against this lot? A symbolic two fingered salute (in the form of a goal) to Shawcross is definitely on the cards.
And celebrate by hushing the Stoke fans just like Cesc did
Lottery numbers please
Argh fuck I should’ve bet on this game!
I think Ramsey is reading this blog.
PROPHETIC
Wenger bakes the best humble pie in England.
It’s so good you have to shove it down your own throat, even though you’re full.
W(h)at?CH the news on TV 5…?!
Is Podolski contractually obliged to be in every photo?
not a thumb up this time?! this is not serious, he’s being absent…
Makes every picture just that bit more smiley…
#aha
Sorry, I meant “yes.”
Sorry again, I meant “#yes #bro #poldi #podolski #adidas #london #hashtag #aha.”
Is he contractually obliged to be smiling in every photo?
Slightly off topic, how recent is that photo? If its recent and Poldi is training…
Giroud should have that clause in his contract too.
2-0 gunners, even bendtner is going to get one today
DAFAQ?! WALCOTT NOT PLAYING?!
Walcott is apparently ill, not injured. Blame Melanie Slade?
Anyway, it’s Gnabry’s chance to shine. As a youth player you sit on the bench and you get your chance when a first team player is out like that. There’s no pressure on him since there’s quality all around, but he has to work hard, track back and take his chance.
COYG let’s smash the inbred cunts
Where’s TW14????
Stomach problem
I know we’ve been spoilt in the past, and I don’t mean to sound ungrateful for all the hard work……but where the hell is the match report??
Wilshere was excellent today. Rambo just can not stop scoring. And then there is Ozil. We actually threatened at set pieces! And as much as we missed Walcott today, we did not miss his poorly taken corners.
Over all though I though we very quite lethargic. Not exactly a vintage performance, but hey, top of the table!
Was it just me or did Ozil look upset and disappointed as he came off?
He is so new and shiny I just really want him to like us.
Bombay he loves us check his last tweet 😀
Hey, look at me! I’m as tall as Per!
Aha!
Aren’t you forgetting something Blogs? *looking for a certain report
