Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Bacary Sagna is fit for the Gunners game against Norwich tomorrow.
The right back suffered a pre-Interlull hamstring twang, but is in the squad to face the Canaries. Whether he plays or not remains to be seen.
Given the opposition, Wenger might well continue with Carl Jenkinson and save Sagna for the midweek set-to with Dortmund in the Champions League.
Santi Cazorla is also back in contention but likely to watch from the bench initially. The manager will want to give him some time to build his fitness though.
Although Arsenal are in good form, Wenger is not taking Norwich lightly, saying “Norwich are a dangerous team. They have a good midfield technically and they showed that against Chelsea.”
Ohhhh Santi Cazorla!
Yesss!!!! Bring on match day!! Bitches be scared right now.. COYGs! 3 points please.
Fuck yes.
Oh Norwich, feel honored. You maybe the first to see the Özorla.
What about Mesult Ozil I hop is fit to play too
http://news.arseblog.com/2013/10/mesut-a-ok-for-norwich-clash/ – according to arseblog and all other media outlets, he’s fine to play
There’s no messing around with Sagna is there
The tough bloke makes a return quick than what it takes my granny to pass over the damn salt…
Finally! And it’s amazing how well the team has done without its best player of the last season!
Sign him up Wenger! He has our Bac’n
Wish we could unleash The Godzilla against Norwish, pleeeeaaaase
Fatgooner?
Flamini is fit! that’s the first name on the team sheet.
Flamini is one booking away from a ban too. I think he should pick it up before we go into the games against the scousers and manure, time it for the league Cup or Palace game
*Norwich.
Poor Norwich.
They might be scared of seeing Cazorla and Ozil playing together.
Should start with both caz and Sagna on the bench. A midfield of Flamini, Arteta (save Ramsey for Tuesday because he payed 180 minutes for Wales), Wilshere, Ozil, and Gnabry should be strong enough to take on Norwich. Intoduce caz and Sagna in the second half to help build match fitness ready for Tuesday.
With all due respect to Norwich, they are not as good as Dortmund, so keeping an eye on midweek sounds like a good idea. And maybe a start for Vermaelen too? Though changing too much in the lineup might backfire.
rosicky ??
GÖ(d)zilla… i am drooling already..
To get idea of Norwich line up first consider line up on Tuesday. I think Wenger will go for: Szcz, Sag, Gibbs, Mert, Kos, Flam, Arteta, Ozil, Santi, Rams & Girroud. He will rest players on Saturday despite how he respects the canaries. He trusts his squad players to do the job. I expect starts for TV5, Monreal, Jenks, Wilshire & Rosiky. They are not bad players and capable of beating Norwich with a very strong bench.
Gibbs did not play for England but Monreal did for Spain so i think Gibbs will play.
Can see your point but if we rested platers after every international we wouldn’t have any players. Besides Monreal hasn’t played many games this season so I hope he gets to start some games. Gibbs has been a giant this season but its quality to have Spanish international cover. Fuck cashley cole.
Sagna was always fit i assume.. it was just wenger not wanting him to go to the fucking international matches and get injured!
Whatever we said
Whatever we did
We didn’t mean it
We just want you Bac for good
(Want you Bac, want you Bac)
Said we want you Bac for goooood
Our scouts will be watching young English talents in this game. We might buy one or two Norwich player to join our reserves when they go down.
If everyone is fit and on current form this would be my first 11:
Sagna-per-kos-gibbs
Flamini-ramsey
Walcott-ozil-cazorla
Giroud
Subs: Fabianski, TV5, monreal, rosicky, arteta, wilshere, odolski
podolski *
Wilshere has to be started. After being dropped for England we have to be behind him. Us dropping him now would be another blow, one he does not need
No keeper
Am cumming!
Whats happening with Sagna’s contract? Any info there blog?
Was listening to another excellent Arsecast with Auclair and Onstein. With regards Sagna, I would sign him on for another 2-3 seasons. 1) As Auclair mentioned, there isn’t that much available in the market that can top even an aging Sagna at the moment. 2) He is built solid and fit as a fiddle even as he hits the 30s. Probably out run most guys half his age. 3) We have a very interesting prospect in Bellerin brewing who will likely take another 2-3 seasons to work into first team. Sagna’s extension will give us the next season or 2… Read more »
