Jack Wilshere will miss Wednesday night’s game with Borussia Dortmund with the same ankle problem which kept him sidelined for the visit of Liverpool last weekend.
The England international is believed to have rolled his ankle in training last week and was absent from training this morning as the Gunners step up preparations for their crunch clash in Germany.
Mathieu Flamini (blue balls) and Theo Walcott (mild acne) are still not ready for action although there’s an outside chance they could feature against Manchester United at the weekend.
In better news Kieran Gibbs has trained despite limping off on Saturday with a calf problem while Serge Gnabry has returned to full fitness after an ankle problem of his own and should take a place on the bench at the Westfalenstadion.
Speaking to German publication kicker-Sportmagazin (translation by Sky Sports) about his new deal, the teenager said he was very content with the way his career is progressing at Arsenal.
“I am very happy. I know the manager is fully on the side of young players and that I will be handed a proper chance at this club.
“And that’s exactly how things went for me. In everyday life Mr Wenger is very much down-to-earth. He is very often talking to me and he is pointing me into the right direction.
“It’s a fact that it’s only me who can decide my future progress. It will be all about my future performance and my future conduct.”
What about Gibbs?
It says he has trained. In the article. Right there in the article above.
Wasn’t in the original version of the article…
WTF! Did you even read the article? SMH.
Thumbed down due to overuse of web speak probably. I’ll translate:
What the fuck? Did you even read the article? Shaking my head (in disbelief).
I never knew what SMH meant.
Every time I tried to think about it I could only land on Sydney Morning Herald which is a local paper haha
Sizeable Motherfucking Hanoverian?
Wait, was Mertesacker from Hanover?
can i ask what everyone would prefer, beating dortmund tomorrow and losing to utd or vice versa?? i want both wins and we are capable of that but what would everyone prefer if one of these scenarios happened
only using a reply to this comment so people can see this question coz i wanna see what you lot think
Really hope this isn’t one of those minor-injuries-that-end-up-taking-months-to-recover-from type Jack injuries.
The Jack Wheelchair type of injury.
LAND – Like a new Diaby, I hope to hell not though.
BHAHAAHA shit..LAND cracked me up.
ok i gotta go sleep instead of reading comments on arseNews.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
And Gibbs?
Blue balls?
Pure granite stone isn’t blue is it?
Its nice that Gnabry is part of our first team now. Every season 1, sometimes 2, youth players steps up and joins the squad.
There must be a fucking idiot in our team that dives into 50-50s in our training. The trend that our players are injured more often from training than from matches is worrying.
But Diaby is injured….remember.
Fimpong’s got to do something
Yeah, whats the update on Gibbs?
I guess no news is good news right?!?!
arsene really should sack all in the medical stuff or at least the physiotherapist!
every season we can not hit at our full potential cause of these injuries..
I just read that Gibbs trained. Brilliant news if he can play, as good as Monreal is.
Gibbs was training with the team today (Arsenal just posted pics on Facebook where he can be seen, so not just internet rumours) so the injury shouldn’t be that bad.

Any girl who would knowingly blue ball Matty Flam would have to have some serious, erm, balls…?
She probably got sick of him pointing and barking instructions.
Then headbutting her when she got it wrong.
I love arsenal more than my family. Plain and simple!! Come on you gunners!!
What can I do to make you love me more than the Arsenal dad?
Are you even human? I mean only Tigers chase away their family so they can have the whole territory for themselves. Even wolves love family!
maybe he’s somehow related to john terry? the horror, the horror…
Let’s keep Hull City fans out of this, shall we?
I’ve just read a report on skysportsnews that man utd have an injury crisis so will have to field an inexperienced bench tonight. Why is it that when they do it it’s because of an injury crisis and when we do it because we have 6 out injured it’s because we lack squad depth
I think it’s partly because most of our injuries have been multi-week or multi-month so the pundits forget those players exist. Most pundits only take casual glances at individual teams so they just look at the current team sheet, the bench and who is out compared to last week.
I’m pretty sure if we had nearly full availability one week then reported that Wilshere, Gibbs, Flamini, Walcott, Podolski and Ox were injured it would be considered a crisis by some in the media.
I recommend not reading news about mediocre mid-table teams.
read the comments section of any manu news article (obviously on other sites), it is truly wonderful how fellow gooners and fans of other clubs have joined together in collectively laughing at and insulting manu. I am loving it.
Gibbs trained?? Someone should have said.
What about Linford Christie?
Be great to have Gibbs fit for tomorrow. As good as Monreal as is Gibbs is stronger going forward and we will need his natural width…
width or girth?
And Pofolksi?any news on him?i thought he alredy started training
I meant podolski
I have a Ugandan friend eho stil calls podolski “podololoski”.its so funny we nicknamed him podololoski
*pokes head round door*
Dude, you’re talking to yourself again.
Probably just his english but I hope when he says “handed” he means work his hole off to earn and only then be rewarded. Given the mentality our squad seems to have I’m sure he knows full well.
If Gibbs is not 100%, then Nacho must play. Thats why we’re supposed to have a squad. Besides, there are a lot worse players to bring on, than say a Spanish international…
does anyone know anything about gibbs?
is he in training?
the comments / article haven’t been very clear so far
the last few lines are something Bendtner has still to learn
Walcott and Gnabry will be interesting and different assets for us to spring against United on the weekend, with Moyes likely expecting our current midfield set up. We have missed a bit of pace out wide and this could be a great time to have them back against a less than water tight United back 4. That said United are (despite their travails) but 3 points off 2nd spot. We will do a real dent in their recovery if we beat them on Sunday. But first things first, Dortmund beckons and you get the feeling that the team are smelling… Read more »
