Arsenal will play either Manchester City or Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on the weekend 12/13 April. Manuel Pellegrini’s side take on the defending champions any moment now at the Etihad.
As a consequence of the Gunners’ progress in the competition the Premier League game with West Ham United, scheduled for 13 April, will be postponed.
Arsenal have only played twice at the ‘new’ Wembley, against Chelsea in the 2009 FA Cup semi-final and versus Birmingham City in the Carling Cup. Both occasions were effing miserable.
In the other semi-final Hull City will play Sheffield United.
The FA Cup final schedule is scheduled for 17 May, a week before the Gunners travel to Portugal for the Champions League final. What? We can dream…
We mustn’t underestimate Wigan in this semi.

As I wrote yesterday: Gentlemen, listen up. It’s better for us to get Man City in the semis, I reckon. They will have an incredibly busy schedule over March and April (they need to make up three Prem games), so they are more likely to be tired or stretched during the semis. The final is a full week after the conclusion of the Prem season–they’ll be fresher.
We’ll probably have to face City sooner or later in the Cup, why not when they’re more likely to be fatigued?
Because the Gods decided to take an off day from fucking with us. Or they thought it’d be funnier if we lost to Wigan.

Well we had to face shitty sooner or later. It being the semis or the final won’t make a difference. If we win, we win the FA cup unless we fuck up like we did against Birmingham 3 years ago. If we lose, then it’s just less work for Phil McNulty who can continue to earn his salary by adding the subordinate clause “, who haven’t won a trophy since 2005,” to the word “Arsenal” in his articles, no biggie.
And no by the way, it’s definitely not a coincidence, the FA is corrupt, and the day City’s oil money and Chelski’s blood money gets pulled out, all hell will break loose. Surely if that affects the draw then we should have got Sheffield United and they’d have sent a ref to let them kick the shit out of us, eliminating us from the FA Cup and maybe injuring a few if we’re still in contention for the title? That’s what I’d do if I had control of the FA.

Arsenal has had terrible luck this year with scheduling. Multiple “death runs” in the league, Chelsea in the league cup, Dortmund, Napoli and Bayern in the Champions League, Spurs, Liverpool, Everton and potentially City in the FA cup. I have just one small abbreviation for a response. FFS!

By the time that semi final rolls around we would have already gotten the big club ,monkey off our backs by beating them in the league, as well as Bayern Munich and Chelsea for good measure. So I don’t foresee any problems at all.
