Mikel Arteta declared himself delighted with the team’s 3-0 win over Newcastle. Although Alan Pardew’s side turned up in London, that’s about all they did, but the on-field skipper was happy that the Gunners have got their third Premier League win in a row under their belts.
“It was a good win, I think we had most of chances and possession,” he told Sky Sports.
“It was really important for us to win tonight and goal difference can be really important as well so we are really pleased with our performance.
“I think the first goal was really important, we had to break them down. I think after they opened up in the second half and we created more chances so the clean sheet is massive and the three goals for us is very important.
“We needed to get back to form because everything is very tight. There’s only two games to go and we want to finish on a high.”
If Arsenal win on Sunday against West Brom, they’ll clinch the Champions League place, although it could come sooner if Everton lose to Man City on Saturday.
“We’ve got a massive chance at home last game of the season,” said Arteta. “It is always very important and the atmosphere is great so let’s take it and don’t take any chances.”
We certainly weren’t toothless!
Ozil is so shy.
Picture is beautiful…
The only thing that can make this day better is if Charlie Adam shoves his large, venomous penis right down Mourinho’s throat. The bastard.
My god! That was horrific and hilarious at the same time! What is it with you and Charlie Adams’ penis?
Don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answers to
Ozil to the Arsenal
Happy St Totteringhams day. 19 in a row. It’s fair to say that sp*rs are shit and it takes a lot more than just “pashun” and £100m to polish a turd! Keep on buffing my hapless hombres.
Good win. Krul made some decent saves to keep the score down…
Now to shout for city against the toffees
In summary, “it’s really important”.
£100M down the drain! DNA of a losing team
Happy St. Totteringham’a Day
Was it just me or did Giroud seem to up his game a little last night? Seemed like he was making/trying to make far more runs in behind, looking for a ball that he could run onto.
@KB
It did look that way with Giroud making more runs in behind but Newcastle played a higher line than most teams at the Emirates.
Plus, it seemed Debuchy forgot the off-side tactic the rest of the defence were playing.
Nice to watch the Arsenal without too much stress.
Let’s have 3 more wins boys.
Arteta man rise to the next level. I know you can do it.
