Promising Arsenal youngster Daniel Crowley has put pen-to-paper on his first professional deal with the club after turning 17.
Recruited in July 2013 from Aston Villa having impressing against Arsenal at under-18 level, the midfielder endured an injury hit first campaign with the Gunners but showed flashes of why he’s so highly rated by assisting four goals and netting twice against Peterborough in the FA Youth Cup.
An England youth international, Crowley says he bases his game on players like Eden Hazard, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi, likes watching TV and drinking tea and gets pumped for games by listening to ‘Show Me Love’ by Robin S – a tune that was written the year Arsenal became Cup Kings in 1993, four years before he was born!
Let’s hope we’ve reason to show him some love in the years to come.
Sorry about the quality of the picture, that’s the view most opponents get after he’s nipped past them. No apologies for the bad gag.
Congrats to Dan
While not directly relevant. But still about young promise. Anybody know what the deal is with Gnabry? He looked really really promising during his brief run outs last season. Particularly against Swansea.
I’m really hoping to see more of him this season. But the tone of the pre-season would suggest otherwise :/
I think he was playing for Germany U19s so he’s probably still on his break
It sounds like he rejected a loan move to Palace to compete for his first team place here. Not sure exactly where he currently falls in the pecking order though.
Yeah I was wondering where Gnabry was too. He wasn’t at the U-19s with Germany though, I just checked.
Does anyone know what’s up with him?
I think he is injured
I think he’s a myth. Does he exist?
Good luck, kid. Living the dream. Make the most of it. Insanely envious.
On another separate note. I have just backed the ox to be pfa young poty at 16/1. Expecting big things from him this year.
and Ramsey player of the season? or Ozil? or Sanchez?
How about all of them? 🙂
Only one thing matters in this life: get them to sign on the line which is dotted.
Seriously thrilled. Boy looks some talent. Gnabry, Zelalem, Crowley, Bellerin, Chambers… phwoaah!
@GunnAlex he is injured. It was mentioned yesterday on bt sport
*Hands Blogs his coat*
good name…
he must have really impressed to get a contract on his Birthday , they couldn’t wait
Look up his performance against Petersborough. 6-0 scoreline, he scored 2, assisted 4. Brilliant.
Pretty sure he signed a pre-contract the day he signed from Villa. And it only gets ‘triggered’ on his birthday.
bad name…..
Wow, we have a lot of midfield options in the youth ranks. Zelalem, Olsson, Toral, Crowley, Jebb (and now Willock). Hope the lot of them can make the first team, hopefully here…..
I remember how excited I got when I was told about a youthful Irish lad at the Arsenal. I was lied to.
Our last player two players to turn out for the Arsenal are Anto Stokes & Eddie McGoldrick.
You can understand my excitement
A ‘youthful’, useful irish lad at the arsenal….. aahh those were the days. THERES ONLY ONE LIAM BRADY
It was Liam Brady who made a gooner, back in 79, what a player, respect………
Disappointed it’s not Alistair Crowley – at least he’d be able to but the hex on Maureen.
His name reminds me of that demon in Good Omens.
Best of luck to him. He’s been talked about a lot so fingers crossed we get to see him in the first team in the next few years.
