Arsene Wenger has given the latest update on the injury situation ahead of Saturday’s clash with Man City at the Emirates.
There’s good news in that Mikel Arteta returns after an ankle problem which kept him out of our last three games, Laurent Koscielny’s head is back to the right shape, while Mesut Ozil is available despite the fact he didn’t play for Germany during the Interlull.
There’s also good news as Kieran Gibbs returns to the squad after a hamstring strain on the opening day of the season.
However, the worry over Aaron Ramsey continues as the manager admitted the Welshman only had a little chance of being available.
“We assess Ramsey today,” he said. “He has a little chance to be available for Saturday. He has a minor ankle problem.”
Keep those fingers crossed folks.

Fingers crossed
My Whole body is CROSSED…
Please be fit Aaron
fingers crossed and hope he won’t play against City that’s the reason of so many injury problems in this team I mean players who are not completely fit are forced to play and then they get another problems and so on…. So hope Gibbs and Ramsey will be rested at least few days more
20 minutes off the bench from him could be a big game changer if he’s fit enough for it
Ummmmmm does anybody remember we conceded 5/6 goals at each of our top 4 opponents last season ???
It’s not about starting Rambo – it’s about going there and parking the fcking bus.
Start Arteta, Flamini and even Chambers if necessary. It’s about tactics. Don’t go to City trying to win, it doesn’t happen. Park the bus and hit them on the break with Alexis Welbeck and Ozil. Have we learned nothing from last season ???????
Ahem … we’re playing at home.
welshman2, your post is about 3/4 months early.
did he mention that striker we bought? do we think anyone has even told him about that?
IMO Aaron’s our most important player, he will be severely missed vs Shitty. I hope Ozil and Wilshere can make up for the void he leaves. COYG!
He will be missed indeed. I hope Rosicky gets some game time soon. He put in a MOTM performance for Czech Republic the other day.
Rosiscky’s energy could be the difference. Don’t think Aaron should be risked.
Yeah – this is all and good but why is there a Chelsea badge at the bottom of this page!!!??
Little bit little Mozart? 😉
Arsene’s treating Danny like a step-child
come back rambo. we do have a lot of options in case he doesnt make it, but i like his boundless energy that would run their yaya to the ground. if im not mistaken he missed our games against shitty last season. its a shame.
Nobody is confusing “their Yaya” with the clown prince we have to deal with every week
It sucks if Ramsey is injured, it means we only have that guy who was running rings around Barcelona at the peak of their powers when he was 18 to replace him. Oh, wait 🙂
I love this…I really love this;)
Kos’ head back to right angled edges?
Ah, welcome back Gibbs! So how fast the Arsenal squad are now with him around? I hope if Ramsey is still injured, Wilshere can step up and raise his game like he did with England recently.
Na$ri is a c*nt
Nope, just a modern day footballer……that homesick Catalan who people STILL see with rose-tinted glasses is a WAAAAAY bigger c*nt. their conduct in their last few months at our club only force that fact home.
that’s Aaron’s season over then
The stone that was rejected has become the corner stone, Aaron Ramsey…lol…who would have thought.. 1st time commenting, been a secret disciple of this blog and opinions since 2010 though, its now part of my morning rituals…. people around me always think i’m nuts because there’s always something to laugh about when reading..
Don’t mention crosses when talking about Welsh Jesus!! After watching the Czech Rep. against Holland the other night, I would like to see Rosicky get some game time. Miss that little bastard.
Wilshere’s gonna be MOTM, just watch! 2-1 to the Arse!! #COYG 🙂
I hope Ramsey makes it but if not we’ll still beat City with Jack and Ozil raising their games.
Arterta, Wilshere & Rosicky in midfield and Ozil, Welbeck & Sanchez in attack.
We once had a player named diaby. Any news on him n his whereabouts?
you can see him in the team photo 2014-2015
played for the U21s on thursday, looked decent. as always i hope he can make a comeback
Played a full 90 even. I think that they want to really ease him back into competition and monitor him closely. You really get the impression that it’s his last chance, even though that sounds cruel. I have no doubt that Diaby will always have a role to play at Arsenal Football Club if he so desires. His professionalism, heart, and attitude are without reproach. I would love nothing more than to see him hoist up a trophy at the end of the season. I may tear up.
Happy to let Aaron sit this one out, he’s been playing several games in a small space of time recently. Give the lad a rest.
Plus we’ll need him against Dortmund. I know we have to take it game by game but it helps to have a rested, healthy, and fit Ramsey for a difficult Champions League tie. I’m hoping that the ankle knock is nothing but perhaps keeping him for the second half as an impact substitute could work out great against City. Imagine if we bring him and Rosicky on in the 65th. If I was Pellegrini, I’d be worried. Any way it turns out, I strongly believe that we can beat City without Rambo, even though I always feel most confident when… Read more »
Hopefully wilshere will play a great game if given the chance and remind people of immense qualities prior to his injuries. I’m all crossed hoping Ramsey makes it though.
Wilshere’s been good this season so far, it hasn’t really shown because the team itself hasn’t clicked as yet. I think both he and Chambers have been our best players to date (this season of course).
Now let’s kick some shity ass!
Hopefully Ramsey will be back but if not we should unleash Rosicky on them. He always steps up for the big games.
Fellas cross your bollocks, bitches cross those tits.
Looks like Gnabry is back in training too!
I don’t think so. The boss’ comments at the presser today seemed to say otherwise.
I doubt Rosicky will start even if Ramsey is injured. He’ll most likely go with Cazorla, Wilshere, Ozil, Arteta and Alexis as our midfield, with Welbeck up front. A very good line up, but there’s little doubt Ramsey is a better player than Wilshere right now.
I can’t believe how some of us fall for the media bait so easily. Wilshere has actually been more effective than Ramsey these past few games over the whole 90. But Ramsey being Ramsey, still manage to pop up with a goal or two despite being out of form. I have faith Wilshere will perform well for us come Saturday.
Rosicky should play. He gives Yaya Toure something to think about before going forward. And he can scamper towards goal after dispossessing Fernandinho or Clichy 🙂
Relax people, Ramsey WILL play in that game. It’s not as serious as it appears
rosicky is fitter than most of our midfielders right now…surprised at the lack of substantial game time. I would be distraught if wenger starts ozil on the left wing. I’ll rather start podolski there or someone who can cause their right back some problem). Arsene, welbeck starts upfront…No to Sanogo starting…
But regardless of the team he puts out or how he lines them up. i’ll be cheering them on.
Let’s get the season started now!
we need to try and win shame about Rambo but still reckon we can do it. come on you reds!
Jack will step up, end of !! Been outstanding so far
