For all Ox probably deserves to start in midfield, I can’t help feeling that clever, more technical players (Not that Ox isn’t technical, but he is more of a battering ram than a scalpel) Like Oezil and Cazorla will have a better chance of getting around the brick shithouse that is Matic. Strange as it may seem, I think he’s Chelsea’s most important player (He’s the only defensively minded midfielder) and running through/past him (which is the style of Ox, Wilshere and to a lesser extent Ramsey) just ain’t gonna happen. Quietly optimistic.

This might turn out to be 4-2-3-1 with Ozil in the middle and Cazorla on the left, but I suspect it’s actually 4-1-4-1 with Cazorla and Wilshere in the middle. I hope I’m wrong though, as 4-1-4-1 has yet to impress.
I agree, I fully expect to lose if we play 4141 as it has the dual effect of weakening both our attack and defence. 4231 on the other hand we have a better chance
The OX and Sanchez on the wings provide so much more in terms of defense than Cazorla or Ozil, who should naturally play through the middle. I’ve got a bad feeling about this one, but I really hope I’m wrong.

Fully expect to lose if we line up 4141. Wenger has in that formation found a special formula of getting the worst out of his best players. Deploying Cazorla in a deep central position doesn’t make us stronger defensively just weaker in attack and playing Ozil on the wing just forces him to do too much running backwards, at which point you might as well not play him. I hope I’m wrong :/

Yeah that’s the fucking spirit. A 1 nil loss to Chelsea then a 1 nil loss the city and Liverpool and the seasons a success. That’s the trouble with the mentality that runs through this club. From players and manager and now fans.
For many years we wouldn’t be really unhappy with a loss or draw away at Elland Road or Anfield or various other places when their team is top 2 or 3 in the league but our expectations at home were different. We have had times when we’ve been top of the league and expected an away win everywhere but we’re not there at the moment. Hopefully we’re getting closer to being that team again, but not yet.
We don’t want a loss but it’s not the end of the world.
Of course it’s not the end of the world, and any team can lose away from home. However, these results are par for the course from a manager who gets paid a lot of money but refuses to address his team’s glaring weaknesses for several years now. Arsenal can’t compete with Chelsea financially, but there is more than enough money to afford a proper holding midfielder and defender.
