Koscielny returns to first team training

There’s good news and bad on the injury front this morning as Laurent Koscielny has returned to first team training.

The Frenchman has been sidelined since before the last international break with a chronic Achilles problem, but looks to have made some steps towards a comeback. Whether he’s fit enough to play against Dortmund tomorrow night remains to be seen, but it is encouraging.

However, there was no Jack Wilshere after his ankle injury picked up against United and we await further news of how long he’ll be missing for.

Nor was there any sign of Danny Welbeck who looked to have tweaked the hamstring problem he had while away with England, or Theo Walcott whose ‘little groin’ ruled him out of the United game at the weekend.

Olivier Giroud is ruled out as he’s ineligible until the knock-out stages, so there may well be a start for Lukas Podolski if Welbeck is ruled out.

Arsene Wenger is due to meet the press shortly so we’ll have further updates then.

He’ll put Alexis left then and Sanogo up top.
Why must you punish our loveable German so.

remember the invincibles

start for Poldi. Na it’s going to be Yaya’s day. you just know it.

vince

it probably will be yaya. i mean come on! against dortmund you need clinical and experience firepower. maybe sanchez and poldi left… lets hope so.

guyfawkes

About bloody time.

If Wenger plays Cazorla instead of Rosicky or Podolski this game, I’ll join the #WengerOut brigade.

After all that’s happened it’s that which will make you change your mind?

AS17 is for A.Sanchez not A.song

Best news this month How much i miss pre-season. Emirates cup, where Sanoga scores 4 goals in 1 match. Campbell plays and scores. Bellerin shines. Arsenal win. That was a good day. Transfer window still open. Hoping for that CB and DM signings. Life was so good, i was so much looking to the new season. Then we won the community shield, i remember saying to myself, can it get any better than this? Of course now i know what to do next time we shows similar signs of progress, i wont get my hopes so high again. Maybe if… Read more »

You have just described my feelings verbatim!!!

And the article started off so brightly!!

Not that I wouldn’t love to see Poldi ripping the Munich feeder club apart tomorrow night.

The Iceman

Just like our season, oops sorry, pre-season

Definitely See Poldi having a go during the game but if there’s a way to make sure him and Yaya both get some game time (possibly together?) at least all cobwebs might just be lost….FA cup games are round the corner too!

Roitenak

Koscielny… how we missed this man.

I’d rather have Sanogo upfront tomorrow to work on their defenders. He’s proven against the likes of Bayern and Liverpool he’s a decent backup to Giroud in his all-round play (except for the goals).

Podolski can finish them off depending on the scenario.

Alex

Podolski ????? You having a laugh against Dortmund ?

He is just a good finisher and will never come to help the defenders.

Poldi is good when the opponents are parking bus.

Mac

Rosicky needs more game time. I’d take him over Rambo at the moment, until he sorts himself out a bit.

Bouldy's Tupee

Poldi brought on at the 75th min with the winning goal. #Aha #hesnoclown

Welcome back, Kos Da Boss! Hope you’ll get match fit very quickly because we really need you in these perilious times before January.

GunnerdareMacedonia

I say rest Alexis after caring arsenal on his own all season the guy need a rest he never stooped playing for arsenal and country every game with full 90 minutes and coming late from international and playing again full 90 minutes on Saturday, and it was visible at some stages that he is tired he needs a rest, give game time to poldi rosicky cambell the can’t done worse as we are not wining even when we play well maybe it will be a welcome rest even for the only players that are playing well like alexis and ox… Read more »

Dear GunnerdareMacedonia: I’ve tried to read your response but it’s too exhausting. PLEASE can you use some punctuation! I mean that’s got to be the longest sentence ever, in the history of mankind.

Still heart broken, cant stop thinking about the man u game… Welcome back #kosstheboss.

mpls

Kos is the most important return to the squad possible right now.
That said, this sudden inclusion worries me.
I’d have loved to be there when Shad and AW had that conversation.
