Let’s go to Anfield and shit in their lawn.

Cheddya

Can we agree that Stoke are just a “bogey team” for us? We’ve failed to beat them away from home in the last four attempts, or something like that? Point is that our record against them is shocking and it’s not like every team is without one: Newcastle have us, Chelsea have Newcastle, even City had Sunderland…just a certain team that perfectly disrupts their style of play.
I’d say that would explain a lot about today’s result, and how the last few weeks have gone.

Stillmatic

Guess you could add United and Jose’s Chelsea to our bogey list then.

Eurazian

Can we agree that Stoke are a shitty team, and that if they keep beating us it’s a poor reflection on us? Not wishing to be Mr Negative following a good win, but it’s not like Stoke have brilliant players or a brilliant manager. All we have to do to not lose to them is field a proper back four and do basic things like defend and win easy headers. Shouldn’t be too hard.

beagleboy

Re Stoke: Doing the basics with with an added dose of domestic violence 🙁

MPLS

Best first post I’ve seen in some time.
COYG!

Arsepedant

Isn’t it just? I wish I could give it a thousand thumbs up!

BurnBabyBurn

At the presser after, I really wish Arsene ended with ‘Wenger Out’ dropped the mic and walked off.

The Ghost of Paul Robinson

Not long now until the Catalans realise Bellerin has that Barca DNA.

@elGoonah

Arsenal win 4-1 and that’s not even the best thing I’ve seen today. You sir, are a genius.

this aint FIFA bitches

Good win, keep that momentum going until all our January signings settle in properly!!

SDDutchGooner

A little unfair to the Ox, methinks. I felt he was one of our best players on the day

MPLS

He may have had a few strays, but he made life very difficult for the Geordies and stained quite a few shorts with his tireless running at them and tackling in their half.

Mooo

How about that front three? Giroud with his presence, Alexis with his trickery, and Welbeck with his unpredictability.

Red Cannon

Yeah, Welbeck does have a bit of the Gervinho about him, doesn’t he?

Less Rambly Pete

Aye, he has his moments and works incredibly hard, but he really does need to learn to be a little more efficient in where/when he runs. No doubt it will come with time, but one moment in yesterdays game HFB got up for a flick on and Dannyboy was just watching, not anticipating at all.

As it stands I can see him struggling to make the starting 11 if we had a full strength injury free squad. HFB centre, Walcott right, alexis left.

loose_cannon

The difference between Giroud and Welbeck is that Giroud is meh one game and fantastic the next, while Welbeck oscillates between the two in the same match. I can’t see Welbeck scoring Giroud’s goal, nor Giroud scoring Welbeck’s disallowed one. Would prefer Welbeck tbh but they can both be world class if they just became a bit more consistent (Could level that charge at all of our attack players tbh, bar Sanchez)

Gooner

That is the best word you could have used to describe Welbeck.

Lovegood

Didn’t Alexis pick up an assist for Santi aswell?

First game in the league this year where I’ve been comfortable for 90 minutes! May it long continue.

arsesicky

Depends how you count an assist. I think blogs only does so when the goal is scored from a first time shot (like a header or direct tap in). Santi took a few touches after receiving the ball from Alexis, but I would personally still count that as an assist.

Wengers bottle

Debuchy,Giroud and Santi were all terrific, we looked far more energetic and dynamic today than we have in a while.
If we can sign a CB and get some players back from injury we’ll take 3rd place from the Mancs.

sam

Bellerin not only had an assist for first goal, but essentially started first goal by himself. A lot more to come from him I hope.

And Giroud. Yes, the “header was majestic” in itself, but my goodness, look at Giroud in the build up. It was him who made the pass to Sanchez, and timed the run from deep incredibly well too.

Dick Swiveller

That can’t be right, I’m pretty sure I was told Giroud was too slow and not good enough for the Premiership. And he’s too French.

the car in front is Alexis

One thing I love about Giroud, which I think we miss without realising, is the creativity he adds to our play in the final third. That through ball for the first goal was sexy.

Don Cazorleone

God I love that handsome bastard.

Chaplin35

Happy explosive dysentery, Lee Mason!

Runcorn Gooner

Lee Mason was a disgrace. Is he A relation to Pardieux.

Wengers bottle

And that referee that looks like Phil Mitchell was pathetic, Tiote planted his studs in Sanchez’s midriff and not even a yellow card was given. The standard of refereeing especially when it comes to Arsenal has been a complete and utter joke this year.
Every game we’ve played this season has had shit decisions from the refs.

Little Mozart

A good result, and I’m delighted for two 4-1 wins on the bounce!

I feel Bellerin really looked the part today, and his inexperience was almost unnoticeable for the majority of the game.

Overall, lots of positives to be taken from today, and naturally some thing to work on, but mainly we got 3 points in a convincing fashion.

Mike

And how quick is bellerin ??? Rapid.

He was really good today

MT

Another bad performance by referee today but luckily we didn’t pay for that. Still don’t know why Welbeck goal was disallowed. And I think there was penalty on Giroud, he tried to hold up the ball. And they did so much fouls for yellow and they didn’t get it and on the other side Mason showed it immediately. Happy for 3 points and looking forward to play with those cunts from Liverpool.

A K 57

Made my day. I said after the defeat of Swansea that out attack is as good as anyone in the league. Now, we are showing that too. If we could have good second half of the season then we could salvage something from it – maybe FA cup, third place and quarters for champions league.

Babbalonian

Same lineup next game?
More games can only help Bellerin & Chambers could do with a bit of a break…
OG will get 20 this season, injuries allowing.
Any chance of a decent ref against the Mugsmashers??

gunnermite

More of the same please!!!

assistantref

Glad you mentioned Lee Mason at the end. We usually don’t slag off the ref when we win but the poor quality of the reffing in this league is getting to be a major cause for concern. That was by all objective standards an very poor game for the ref but standards are so rock bottom low these days that nobody even bats an eyebrow any more. If you only wrongly grant or disallow one goal per game you’re considered to be doing well these days, and that’s downright sad. He just clearly had no idea what he was doing… Read more »

Mike

Agreed. Although I’m not sure you can bat an eyebrow .
ha.

assistantref

Maybe YOU can’t.

DFS

I seriously think importing talent would be a great way to go.

Mike

Debuchy , bellerin , giroud and Santi were mustard today.
Very impressive win and performance from us considering the form newcastle were in, and last weeks train-wreck at Stoke.
I fancy us to beat Liverpool next week.
Everyone played well today.

Satnam Singh

Good win tonight . Let’s just believe in our players ability. We know they are brilliant. They need our support. We love to win together but we are not the invincibles so unfortuately we will have to loose only very now and then hopefully. Let’s do that together as well . criticism is no problem but stop this bullshit agendas. The hate lot versus the none haters . Fuck off because we have become like a group of cunt supporters . The sky and sun cunts love and lap up all the bollacks. The Likes of coke head Merson and… Read more »

In Arsene I trust

Good solid performance.
Loved bellerin’s run where he was almost through on goal
Let us all support the club when things do not go our way.
I feel that media has a very divsive influence today. Was watching the game on NBC SN and after conceeding, the commentrator was speaking as if we had conceeded 3 in 3 minutes.
Things dont always go our way but supporting Wenger is the least we can do for the club now.
Loved that Arsene’s name was sung by the people.
Way to go!!

SFGiants

Glad to se we got our Coq out of Charlton.

Mesut Aussie

“Woolied” up for the winter too!

Jacques

Lee Mason:
1. Not giving a card for Tiote’s kick on Alexis
2. Welbeck’s disallowed goal
3. Not awarding a penalty for Giroud
4. Giving a free kick instead even though Alexis was fouled inside the penalty box
5. Harsh yellow card on Ox… despite all the fouls Newcastle players had on Alexis

Explosive Dysentery/10…. a bit too nice?

pies

I think you are being slightly harsh.

The giroud penalty was nowhere near a penalty, Giroud stuck hisnleg out and caught Tiote. How is that a penalty?

The Tiote kick, the ref was behind Sanchez so impossible for him to see.

The Sanchez penalty was the linesman’s decision to make really and it wasn’t as blatant as you make out.

I agree about the welbeck disallowed goal but not a fan of all the ref bashing all the time.

MPLS

It’s not impossible to see Tiote’s leg is chest high and that Alexis was caught, even from behind.

Don Cazorleone

Ref’s assistants are there to offer the other angle for that kind of thing, but remain utterly pointless.
The FA is a shambles at the moment with regards to its refereeing levels and consistency.

Brent

Bellerin was incredible today. Playing with such confidence, he looks like he can be a good one.

Gary Baldy

The chimes of ‘ There’s only one Arsene Wenger ‘ rang out all around me in the North Bank and I joined in with a tear in my eye, as I was reminded of how brilliant we can be when we all turn in a performance. I think Debuchy and bellerin were excellent today, Bellerin for not being fazed by rthe occasion and Debuchy for his experience and sheer dertermination. for example, he was high up in the first half and from their clearance he won the first ball and drove forward through their player, in American football parlancethat was… Read more »

Crew

all of you that are praising our attacking trio today, wait for Walcott and Ozil to be back. what an explosive attack we could have:
________Giroud__________
Alexis___Ozil_____Walcott
with Welbeck rotating with Giroud or playing on the wing.

James

We have improved becaus are attacking play has been more direct, this is down to the OX playing centrally by far his best position. Hes giving us more energy an pace an power in the CM

Conchetumadre

Alexis was so mad, not because he was replaced, but pissed cause he didn’t score.
Not to worry Alexis, two assists, and magic passing up front is greatly appreciated.

False11

Glad to see goals coming from different places in the team over the last few games- Poldi, Ramsey, Santi, Sanchez, welbeck, giroud. Chelsea’s goals come from Hazard* and Costa, City’s come from Aguero (a little more than a one man band), Utds are from shittown, Liverpool don’t score without Suarez and Sturridge.

*hazard is an arrogant bastard- cockier than Ronaldo?

Ben

So many attacking runs! Feel team is being built in ozils abscence in his image. Fingers crossed.

Gooner

I’m not sure how Ozil fits back into this team to be honest. Our game plan is so different to last season now, with our high intensity, high pressing tactics. It requires all 5 of our forwards to press really high and try and win the ball back as soon as they can. Özil just isn’t able to do that.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the player but I just cannot see how he would fit into this current philosophy.

GHunner

My highlight of the day: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain giving way to Ainsley Maitland-Niles. The most English substitution ever!!!……..and that’s just half the story.

Yankee Gooner

That double save!

MPLS

That was a very big moment and Szcz was massive.

Santori

4-1 again? Wenger Out!

I could get used to this.:D

Santori

Bellerin- he is going to be a massive player for us particularly WHEN he gets his defensive side sorted! Unlike Jenkinson, he whips his ball in with intent and aim. Highly technical + speed = lethal combination! Debuchy. Maybe he has insider knowledge on Barcodes but he is less prone to mistakes than Chambers. There was a reason why he displaced Sagna off the French team. Per. It’s not that he has been poor but that he has been missing the sort of experience next to him in order to cover natural deficiencies. Worth bearing in mind he is deep… Read more »

Santori

Big shout to Szsc

Turning point of the hand those double saves!

AQUI

10/10 for “One Arsene Wenger” rang around the Emirates again…

MPLS

A few weeks ago Santi’s expressions had me worried his thoughts were elsewhere. I am so, so happy to see him rejuvenated.

And is it just me, or does anyone else suspect he’s working on that Seinfeld Kramer costume for the holiday party?

And that PK was naughty.

thegunnerboy18

i dreamt us meeting R.Madrid in the last 16 of Uefa and beating them 3-0 at the Bernabau.

I just hope mu dream comes true

alx96

No man, 4-1. Haven’t you heard? 4-1 is the new 3-0.

Tony Hall

Credit where it is due, that was a very good performance against a Newcastle side that beat Chelsea the week before. We played like we had a point to prove from kickoff and so we did. First time in ages I didn’t panic we conceded a goal! Very pleased for Santi with his two goals, HFB how we have missed you, MD great to have you back in defence, Alexis and Danny tireless as always and Hector B had a very good game. Credit for not letting last weeks defeat get to him. If he doesn’t make it as RB… Read more »

George the Gooner

Arsehole slagging off Welbeck in earlier posts! Scored a great goal, had a decent game too. Touch of the Gervinho my ass! Score a hatrick in Champion league earlier in the year. Keep yeh mouth closed. If you got nothing decent to say. Prick!

Alexstratz

Oh come on, no Coq jokes for his rating?

Samgunz

Oxlade is the real unsung hero of the last two games and frankly he’s been Mr Consistency since the season’s start, with all our box to box cms out he’s filled the position like he’s been playing there all season and with an athleticism neither Wilshere or Ramsey quite possess. No offence to their undoubted talents (in their own way) but there’s something about Chamberlain, and its not just his pace and energy, his passing and ability to wriggle out of situations is rapidly improving. I feel he is making life a lot easier for Flamini right now, let alone… Read more »
