Injury crisis sees Coq pulled out of Charlton

Arsenal’s injury problems in midfield have, apparently, led to Francis Coquelin’s loan spell at Charlton cut short.

Just last week the Championship side announced that the French midfielder would be staying until the end of the December. However, training pictures today show Coquelin involved as the Arsenal squad prepare for the game against Newcastle tomorrow.

With reports that Aaron Ramsey could miss 4 weeks with a hamstring strain, along with the absences of Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta, Arsene Wenger obviously feels he needs to take his Coq out of Charlton’s grasp.

The fact that he can also play as a full-back, with appearances on the both the left and the right, means he can provide cover for Nacho Monreal who is absent with a foot injury.

Arseblog News is glad to welcome back our Coq and hopes it’s all nice and fresh if called upon tomorrow.

Why not bring back corporal jenkinson

hjghj

they want to do buisiness with the over Winston Reid

Racerr

We already have 3 RBs. Coq is more versatile. I was bemused when his loan spell was extended amidst our injury crisis. Good to see him back. Gotta use your Coq if you have one.

AC

yep, slot him in any of our defensive gaps. AND he’s a quality player too.

Wengerthegoat

In The FA rulebook:

“A Player on long term loan may not be recalled except for a goalkeeper or where the Player
is to be transferred permanently by the Club holding his registered contract. A Player other
than a goalkeeper so recalled cannot be permitted to play for the Club holding his
registration after such recall until the end of the Season.”

So theres your answer

Ben

So he’s being sold?
Fuck tits.

Ben

Coquelin that is? Wasn’t his a long term loan?

remember the invincibles

I could not agree with this more. How thats going to help us at center back I don’t know, but I want Jenks back all the same.

hjghj

My coq is back

GuytheGooner

I hate it when you have to pull Coq out

alexis' shorts

hah, it’s a little amusing how everyone was clamouring for him to be called back in and finally got their wish. Nothing against Coquelin, as I do remember him performing well enough 2 years back so I’m sure he’ll be even better. It’s all a bit depressing though because I really have no idea how we are going to perform at the back for the next month or so. My bum is going to be squeaky at the start of the game :/

2014-2015 = the year we've been waiting for

Pulling out is no fun… for Arsenal or for Charlton.

remember the invincibles

its the safe thing to do. be safe.

It’s coming thick and fast… I mean the team news on this site!

o'gizzle

Hahahah Arseblog stop!!!

Saffa Gooner

May he prove firm at the back and penetrate up front.

Bendtdogg's Pizza

Suppose Arsene will be sticking the Coq in the back

Atletico Islington

At least we’re doing something about the situation. Isn’t Carl Jenkinson supposed to be a long term CB prospect? It’d make sense to bring him back, he’s match fit and in great form.

MTZ

Wait what? Ramsey is out for FOUR WEEKS?

Stillmatic

Time for LeCoq to stand strong and firm, and stick himself in the middle.

Seriously though, I’m a huge fan of his, and I’m amazed at how everyone has written him off based on one loan spell (where he was used as a left winger, even though his previous loan’s were a success at Lorient).

I hope he does an Ashley Cole; as in on his way out before an injury to the first team gave him an opportunity). Ironically the same thing happened with Flamini.

Gareth Murray

Hopefully Le Coq sees some action, he didn’t expect to get any before January, so glad he’s come early as he thrusts forward long and hard. Le Coq can be very tasty at times.

Ben

I don’t want to think about that, thanks.

Glad he’s back. Always liked Coquelin!
(**gritting teeth while avoiding cock pun)

Hutch

Don’t suppose he is aware how much entertainment his name provides fans.

On the performance front, he comes across as very energetic and likes to be involved in the tackles.

Up the Coq!

Stuart fitz

Whats the point in having a Coq if you don’t use it. I just hope he’s worked on his dribbling. It was very messy last time.

Tom thumb

Jokes aside I really think coq is going become a great player for us,he looks really impressive anytime I’ve watched him, great tackler, has pace, aggression and he can pick a pass, everything you want in holding midfielder, hope he takes this chance to work his way into the first team

Samgunz

I remember Thierry Henry had a lot to say about him on one of his loan spells back with us, I’ve always rated him, he’s played with Gibbs, Wilshere, and Bellerin a lot as well, was also just as promising in the reserves and one senior game away at Spurs i recall him being quite the dominant DM, great passing range, classy technique and like most are saying, solid in the tackle (Coq).

GoonerN16

Good news indeed. Onwards and upwards with le Coq!

Hugh Jarse

If we want our Big Fucking German to perform, he needs a Coq.

Chan

At this rate, we might have to loan a full squad from somewhere when the transfer windows open…

Gareth Murray

if he has a chance of action I hope he rises to the occasion. Now we’ve got Le Coq back, let’s hope we can show some balls.

Stillmatic

Seriously, if he becomes a fan fav, we could have him on the bench and when the opposing team are giving our midfielders a kicking, we could all chant to Wenger “Get your Coq out for the lads, get your Coq out for the lads”.

Arseblood

Oooooohhhhh! I get it now!….Coq and Cock sound the same. But what’s funny about a male chicken?

Oracle

Clearly you’re not farmiliar with sp*rs. They’re a never ending stream of gags.

dkgÖÖnér

Bet he doesn’t get a game – just keeps the bench warm.

dpro

He’ll slip nicely into the back four.. Let’s hope he doesn’t succumb to the Arsenal injury curse. Shall we get Bac back too? It must be cold for him sitting on the bench.

Carl

Is Rosicky alive?

Arsepedant

Not really.

Dylan

Aaah yes, the old pull out Coq early technique.

Ben

Yes its called a wirhdrawal.

You have to be a real legend to perfect it!

Lucas North Bank

That’s what we need in the team, a hard man

Coq is hard.

He has one eye

On the ball and one in the player

Makes for stiff competition

Ricardo

I bet you like that Coq, don’t you Arseblog?

AC

hmmm… this one is just plain creepy

Ricardo

Yeah sure my comment is creepy, but pulling the coq out of Charlton is funny.

skyranger

I thought he terrific against Southampton. This could be his time

Gunner Rob

I’m sure our Coq will rise to the challenge, as long as nobody rubs him up the wrong way.

CLEgooner

Cock.

And balls.

sentiments from Grozny

The coq has no staying powers, first at arsenal then Charlton athletic. He seems to be always up and down. Hopes he nails it down the middle at arsenal this time

Stillmatic

In fairness to him, this Coq’s got some balls to keep cuming.

SteveDave

Cue Wenger calling our Coq’s return “like a new signing”

Toni

Wenger: I’ve pulled my coq out of Charlton and will be slipping it in the back. #dead.

shokim

Saying it before Wenger does… Like a new signing!

Seriously though, I hope Le Coq grabs this chance with both hands since it was so hard for him to break into the first team in the past. No pun intended.

Entre Dans La

think about this. If we signed him in January and we had never had him before all of yous would be reveling in the signing.

Norwegian Gooner

It all makes sense now. Put Coq in midfield, put Ox up front and then Giroud can play CB. Easy. #wengerknows

phatty

Coq’ been in and out of the squad for too long

dpro

If the Coq is staying really deep I just hope he doesn’t get sucked out wide – or pulled off too early…
It WILL be hard, but I feel he has a lot of spunk in him.
Reckon he’ll shoot after a big build-up, anyone? Anyone??
Gets coat.

Alexstratz

Seriously people. You’re having way too much fun with your Coq.

Randy Paul

Did we just Coq-block Charlton?

Yankee Gooner

If we play our Coq out of position we’ll be well and truly fucked.

i want to boff welbz and I'm not even gay

I wish Wenger would make up his mind what he wants to do with his Coq

Henry! Chance!! Goal!!!

Prematurely pulling the Coq out of Charlton

Henry! Chance!! Goal!!!

On a more serious note, Coquelin should always be in this arsenal squard. His versatility is to valuable to this team that can’t seem to stay healthy in either defense or midfield

Ben

Agreed

Neil #2

Oh gosh. Please stop with the coq puns….these stopped being funny about 6 months ago.

Entre Dans La

Arsene will just put his Coq in for a few minnnn-aahhhhhhhhh-utes
