Lorient eye Sanogo loan

According to L’Equipe, Ligue 1 side Lorient have joined the queue of clubs interested in taking Yaya Sanogo on loan for the rest of the season.

The French under-21 international was last week tipped to join Crystal Palace when the transfer window opens in January, but that deal could now be in doubt in light of Neil Warnock’s sacking.

Lorient have previously housed the likes of Francis Coquelin, Gilles Sunu and Joel Campbell on loan deals from Arsenal and until earlier this year had former ‘Invincible’ Jeremie Aliadiere on the books.

Arsene Wenger has yet to comment on suggestions he’ll let the former Auxerre man leave the club for six months, however, in light of Olivier Giroud’s impending three match ban for the headbutt in yesterday’s win over QPR, there’s an outside Sanogo may add to this season’s six appearances for the Gunners in the games against West Ham United, Southampton and Hull City.

I thought this about Sanogo going to Leyton Orient.

Fatgooner

No – he’d never get in the first team.

Right on

Well Kos the Boss was from there as well ….. but would make sense to send to a Championship or BPL club 🙂

If Wenger thinks he’ll ever be good enough for Arsenal then he probably needs to be playing in the UK and acclimatising, the championship or league one should get him game time

Deano

Reckon Poldi could go in January as well

Hessojay

Having to go somewhere ele for serious game time and experience would only help Sanogo’s career. Whatever pans out, I wish him luck.

Crystal Palace can be scrapped of that list. They are becoming fast a joke. Their fans aside, the way they treat new managers won’t help Sanogo one bit. Hull seems bit more stable and their side play the style he needs. West Ham perhaps too but along with Newcastle they play safe first and attractive second.

Whatever the choice, Sanogo is a proper prospect and a consistent run of games should be priority.

Striker

Honestly.. Yaya Sanogo would not be able to start for a PL team. Even Crystal Palace have better options upfront (Yes, even Chamakh would do better job….)

Had he gone out on loan last year he may have progressed a bit, but as of now Akpom and Afobe are streets ahead of him and he probably would get sub appearances at best at a lower premiership club which would be pointless

Sanogo scored a very good goal against Dortmund not a goal everybody can score like you said in another comment. Raw but has something to offer. Sanogo too scores goals in France U21 and France is always full of talents at U21. Not ready to be a regular starter at Arsenal yet.

My Free Kick

Definitely worth having on our bench for the 3 matches HFB is out. After that, more game time elsewhere is ideal.

Striker

Akpom is by far a bigger talent. Give the lad an outing instead. He has proven that he has what it takes to become a very good arsenal player. You don’t have to be a genius to see that considering some of the goals he has scored for the u21 this season.

Belfast Gooner

I think Poldi will go as well unfortunately. I doubt there is any truth in it but has anyone else heard the Cavani rumours? We def need a CB or DM first tho.

Striker

Why is that unfortunate? Wenger does not play him anyway so I don’t really see why such a good player should be warming the bench season after season..? He is too good to be a benchwarmer, you can have a sanogo or bendtner for that.

Belfast Gooner

The clue is in your name mate! He is the best striker of a football at the club. One of the criticisms of Arsenals squad is that there is no strength or depth. Poldi provides this. Now it’s not his fault that Wenger does not rotate often enough. You never know when we will need him. Anderlecht away was a case in point. In case you haven’t noticed Bentdner is ‘plying’ his trade elsewhere now. Who would rather have coming on if we were a goal
Down in a cup final, Poldi or Sanogo?

Julio Baptista's humble alter ego

If you asked Arsene that, I think the answer is Sanogo 😀

Sean

Dont! sa-NO-GO 😀

Alexstratz

The moment we loan Sanogo out is the momen we get an injury to either Welbeck or Sanchez. Mark my words. No early January loan please, not after HFB’s f*ck up.

spinner

If Sanchez or Welbeck get injured then I would rather have a mannequin playing rather than Sanogo. He needs to go to a Championship club, that’s his level at the moment.
Sanogo has about the same skill level as a mannequin and the same number of Premier League goals.
