The good news keeps on coming with various reports saying Aaron Ramsey’s hamstring injury could keep him out for four weeks.
It would be a massive blow to the side with Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere also sidelined, with Arsene Wenger admitting it’s a ‘shame’ that the injury has cropped up just when the Welshman is finding his form again.
The Arsenal manager was coy about the period of time Ramsey would miss, saying, “We only got the scan last night but I don’t know yet the extent of his injury”, which doesn’t make much sense because the scan would tell them exactly how bad the hamstring strain was.
“It’s a shame,” continued Wenger, “because he was getting close to matching last season’s form”.
However, there has been on ongoing weirdness to Ramsey’s hamstring this season. Back on September 27th he damaged it against Sp*rs and it was suggested a similar four week absence would be required – indeed some reports said he might be out for as long as eight weeks.
He then missed two games, against Galatasaray and Chelsea, before surprisingly returning on October 18th for the 2-2 draw with Hull amid whispers he’d been given the all-clear following a privately sought second opinion on the extent of the strain.
Obviously there’s some kind of issue, but maybe we’ll get lucky and it won’t be as long as is being touted at this moment in time.
This is so flipping frustrating! Is the training centre filled with ladder tunnels and dangerously poised mirrors or something?
Calm down bro, I got this
I saw this and smiled sadly to myself.
LADS if you’re going the game tomorrow, bring your boots. And what happened to Serge Gnabry by the way? Has he joined a cult or is he genuinely injured?
It’s a cult. The Fifth Dimension of the Arsenal Injured, where time is an arbitrary concept, led by Diaby.
beat me to it. Left my page unrefreshed then commented late
With all the players on the training table I’m sure there’s enough to start a cult.
Order of the Gimped Gunners
Time to hoist banner to the injury gods. Something like this: “Thanks for all the bad memories: time to move on – preferably towards West London…”
THIS is a banner I would help hold up.
Our training/fitness/physiotherapy procedures need to be looked at urgently, we seem to know as much about fitness and conditioning as a sunday league team and we’re not going to win anything until we sort it out. Utterly embarrassing.
Has anyone done an analysis of whether Arsenal players who leave have injury problems when they go to other clubs? I know Van Persie has been out a lot at Man Utd, and Nasri has had a fair few injuries at City but have they been injured as often as when they were here?
Are we buying gimpy players or is it our training methods? (And other than hiring Shad, what happened to that investigation anyway? Things are going in the wrong direction.)
This has to be media nonsense! There’s just no way you come off “as a precaution” to find out the injury is severe enough to keep you out four weeks.
I thought a precautionary measure was taken to prevent something worse from happening. Dread to think what would have happened if they left him on.
Alright time for the rest to step up. Good opportunity for diaby, rosicky and santi in the middle to step up.. anyone else i forget?
Me
Diaby and Rosicky are still out, I think…
Ox seal your place
Ox seal your place
I don’t think Ox can ever seal his place in this team.. It’s ridiculoushe hhasn’t already. I’m wondering what that guy has to do.. He has been remarkably effectivein almost every game.. In almost eevery position but he still doesn’t have a place in the side marked down.
What makes you so certain about that? As far as i know, the Ox played in every single PL game this season
…because except Alexis, everyone is injured?
That doesnt make his assertion right, does it?
This has simply got to be more than coincidence or bad luck….
And I thought someone was being paid a gazillion pounds to solve the problem!?
I’ve gone from sadness, to misery, to being beyond caring and now this shit. What the holy fuck is going on at our club… complete mess.
fuck…fuck…..fuck…fuckidy….fuckidy….fuck……..fuck…….. this shits no longer funny
i miss Walcott so much, such a unique and important player for us. hope he comes back soon.
I miss everyone
I’m trying to see a positive here.
Chamberlain could be moved into central midfield (Wenger said that his future is in central midfield) and bring Campbell in. It’s not a win-win but it’s close to a win-lose.
Wenger has already said Ox will remain a wide player, rather than develop into a CM. Not surprising, his whole “could be another CM” mimicked his equally ill-fated “nasri can be a DM” project. As for Ramsey? Hmmm, over-used player who suffered over-use muscular injury last season has been equally over-used this season and now suffers over-use muscular injury (of which hamstring and thigh muscular injuries very often tend to be). Surprise surprise Of course Ramsey didn’t have to have played so many games if Wenger had rotated either him or Jack in the starting squad, rather than the ill-fated… Read more »
Also note how both of Ramsey’s overuse injuries had happened roughly around the same time as last year. That certainly adds credence to the argument that we keep overplaying our players.
That has to be one of the most idiotic things I’ve read. How would correlating time of injury mean overuse of players? If anything, correlating injury times as another year could show the brains of some fans.
No need to be a dick about Stillmatic’s comments. Lastl season Ramsey got injured during the Christmas period as well because there is lot of football played in this period and in the period leading up to December. Champions League Group stages, Carling and mid week games.
Besides most of our injury crisises (spp) over the years happen in this period coinciding with the so called “Black November”.
I have a Masters in Sports Science with over 8 years in the industry, 3 of which involves being an Assistant Sports Scientist at a London based club that is currently ahead of Arsenal in the league. Not only that, I was an interview finalist for the head of academy sports science at arsenal in 2010, and have done consultancy work for the likes of Sparta Prague and presentations for the Czech FA. Not gonna say anymore about myself, but if you guys need verification, just ask arseblog to search my email on Linkedin (seeing as the admins can see… Read more »
???? You do know that Jack is injured right? We keep having injuries because we can never fully pull off a rotation. It’s pretty hard to pull good rotations without players.
Oh? My bad, was Jack injured all season?
if he was injured before last week.it was bless in disguise bcoz OX is waiting for his chance
Its getting hard to believe now. Play Ox in the centre mid position he trived in against Milan and hope for the best. Central defence worries me more against big bustling Newcastle forwards. This could be a messy Xmas period for us.
Clearly this is all Wenger’s fault. I plan to make a banner & hurl abuse to let my disgust be known.
On a serious note, at what point will we be unable to field a side? Unless I’ve missed someone, the only senior subs we have right now are Sanogo, Campbell, Podolski & Martinez. Not sure where Rosicky & Diaby are at. I’m guessing injured too though. Even if they aren’t, neither is match-fit in any case.
And is the training intensity set by the Injury gods or just plain bad luck?…worse than any other club in the history of football…for 10 seasons…every single year with the worst injury record. No. Clearly Wenger is faultless here. It’s all the injury gods fault

For the millionth time: MAYBE THE FUCKING TRAINING SESSIONS ARE TOO INTENCE? Or maybe Wenger knows what he’s doing, cause our injury record has been spotless for the past 10 fucking years, right? Now, where are my masochists with all the downvotes?
Um, that would make you the masochist, you naughty, naughty boy.
Broken by playing every single game he is availible. Who didn’t see this coming?
I was a bit upset when he, and Mert, got picked for the gala game and couldn’t really understand the reasoning behind it. We were through and other players in need of rest got it. He had a great 45 but the cost of those 45 is ridiculous and shold have been prevented by the manager.
Next to break will be Sanchez and then Mert.
It doesn’t feel like a coincidence that the most injured teams are the ones managed by the most ancient managers.
What a truly shad situation this has turned out to be.
I applaud you sir. Who say’s puns are not funny?
Arsenal in training

How just how do we keep getting injuries???
Overplayed players and high training intensity.
…and this based on your insiders knowledge of how Arsenal trains. Thanks for the information!
I suspect, unfortunately, that his leg break had a permanent effect on him and may cause repeated hamstring issues. Anyway, I think it’s a more credible theory than things like “our training sessions are too intense” and “every single person on our medical staff is more incompetent than Anthony Taylor”.
What about our fancy ‘only club with it’ artificial training pitches? Anyone? Anyone?
This injury situation is unheard of. There is always an advantage to everything in life. Guys, find me one. Ramsey being injured, would Rosicky play ?
No, because Rosicky’s injured too.
I must say rambo scored a cracking goal v galatasaray and to see him injured is sad news, the formation in that game playung zelalem and subs had a gd turn plus tackling coyg
Seriously… Injury gods, f*ck you. F*ck you hard from behind.
Giroud will make an ideal emergency CB. I mean essentially strikers occupy the same area of the field. imagine he and Per together – total speed-demon-defensive-steel. i dunno – at least it would provide more absurdist comedy – our speciality :+)
