Ospina thanks defenders for helping him settle

David Ospina has hailed Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny for ensuring that he’s settled into life at Arsenal with as much ease as possible.

The Colombian keeper missed a lot of games through injury but has taken advantage of Wojciech Szczesny’s recent indiscretions and indifferent form to get a run in the first team.

And he’s thanked his experienced teammates for helping him along the way, telling Arsenal Player, “They’ve helped a lot. They’re great players and great people. That has really helped me.

“They’re very experienced players, and Per has a wonderfully enchanting musk. We hope to keep winning, keep learning every day and keep making the most of the opportunities we get.”

He touched on the new style of football in a league to which he’s barely accustomed yet.

“English football is very direct,” he said. “You have to be focused for the entire 90 minutes because you can score or concede at any moment.

“The football here is really physical and nobody wants to give an inch – that’s what I think makes this great league so exciting and special.”

Meanwhile Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has welcomed the return of both Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott, both of whom scored against Brighton on Sunday.

“To have those kinds of players back is only good for us,” he said, “and I’m sure they’ll come back and play a massive role in the rest of our season.”

“They’re very experienced players, and Per has a wonderfully enchanting musk”.

Blimey. They really are cosying up to one another.

ThaatArsenalGuy

Still not sure if this is a real quote, or some Arseblog humour . either way it made me laugh

spinner

Do you think Sczc was fully clothed (including gloves and boots) when he was smoking in the showers?

AJD

Just gloves and socks apparently

Tilmann

Ahaha! Mental image go away!

Highberry

The Germans have a word for it “kopfkino” which means images that get stuck in your mind and should remain a fantasy. This is one. Maureen being inflicted with simultaneous vomiting and diarrhea is one however which I replay over and over again and which I would love to see in reality.

GoonerN16

Weeeell yes and no. I’d love for Moanin to be similarly afflicted, but I’d rely on Blogs for confirmation, rather than eye witness the event, personally.

Runkeball

Gloves and socks in the shower and Legalize It by Peter Tosh at idiotic volume. It was the music that attracted attention and eventually gave the game away.

“They’re very experienced players, and Per has a wonderfully enchanting musk” err what???

“Enchanting musk” Bloggs at his best!

Hi-brid

A wonderfully enchanting musk. Testing the cut and paste ‘journalists’? 😀

I would love to see that quote on the tv!

Well done to Ospina, The defense has looked more settled having him and Coquelin be so dependable recently. Well done to them for upping the competition within the team. Only place left to really add competition now is the defense and that should be set once Gabriel Paulista arrives

Abzey

Spot on! Mertescienly need to up their game imo

AllGunsABlazin

I wanna know more about this ‘eau de Mertesacker’

arsepedant

Yeah, we’ve seen the BFG T-shirts and sweats you can buy to support his foundation, will there now be a BFG cologne?

Samrat

I love The Ox, always enthusiastic about anything Arsenal, if someone hadn’t known they’d say he’s been a gunner all his life, honestly I seems difficult to see him anywhere else…..

Gooner from Pretoria(Cap city)

I Thank ooospinaaaaa for ensuring I could watch my favourite Football team with out heart/panic attacks…

Gooner from Pretoria(Cap city)

I Thank ooospinaaaaa for ensuring I could watch my favourite Football team with out heart/panic attacks…on a more sad note Fuck Boofana Boofana

Paul

Pack it in! 🙂

Man Manny

Off topic, I know but couldn’t wait. Chelsea and City seem to have lost their way a little bit. Don’t want to raise my hopes but if they keep playing the way they are doing right now, a window of opportunity might just open…
Oh my God! Dreaming again!

Ant Lester

‘Eau de Mertesacker’
Illegal in nine countries, made with bits of real Per, 60% of the time it works EVERY time.

Highberry

Made by frauleins rolling sauerkraut and sausages on their thighs and packed in musky football socks.

Potential best-seller, that.

The Ospina chant is so epic, I think it also distracts the opposition players on top of being awesome.

santori

People are making too much of Ospina and Coquelin. Granted they have been doing well, much of our defensive mishaps have been more due to the constant need to shuffle the pack at the back. Most of the goals conceded have been from wide areas and set pieces rather than an imaginary soft centre. Simply put, the lack of a Cback alternate has meant uncertainty in positioning for the back 4 which has affected our campaign. Point in case all the ire hurled toward Per as a ‘slow’ defender where Koscielny is universally praised for his better ability. They need… Read more »
