Arsenal’s great run of form in March has been recognised by the Premier League with Arsene Wenger and Olivier Giroud picking up the Barclays manager of the month and player of the month awards respectively.
The Gunners beat Everton, Queens Park Rangers, West Ham United and Newcastle United in the league to push up the table to third and also secured safe passage to the semi-final of the FA Cup with victory at Old Trafford against Manchester United.
An away win at Monaco in the Champions League means Arsenal enter April on the back of six consecutive victories and secured the boss his 14th award of this type in his 19 years in N5 – he last won it in September 2013.
Olivier Giroud’s five goals in four league appearances also caught the eye of the adjudicating panel, who selected the French striker over teammate Francis Coquelin, as well as underwhelming quartet Marouane Fellaini, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Jordan Henderson and Harry Kane.
How is Fellaini a Contender?
Try watching some football and you’ll know why. He pretty much destroyed spurs and Liverpool single handedly
Single handedly….. Still used both feet though…. So 1 hand wouldn’t make any difference.
Single hairdidly
He mainly uses his elbows!
Ok, that was quality.
a thumbs up for the obvious mr.obvious stater.
Two weeks don’t make a month.
Biggest improvement. From being slaughtered by our Coq.
And why no santi?
because he runs around and stuff, haha. Maybe the league is rewarding his amazing ability to elbow 2-3 players a game and never receive a foul for it!
No, otherwise Crouch would win it every month
Hope this isn’t the poisoned chalice that means you have to lose your next match.
No-brainers.
Though, it does sound nice to use the words Harry, Kane, and Ha! in the same sentence.
Olivier for president!
Giroud >>>>> Van Judas. Wouldn’t swap him for anyone
The only Premier League striker I’d without a doubt swap Giroud for is Aguero.
Keep the good run, our HFB! Show your ability to beat that costa, aguero & kane
Na na na na an an…….
Usually don’t give a damn, but it’s nice having our HFB win this at Kane’s expense, ha!
Both thoroughly deserved.
Fellaini is A CUNT !!
Totally agree,he’s one of the nastiest players in the bpl, always throwing
elbows and kicking out,and the hair makes me want to punch him right in his nose
Looks like a Harlem Globetrotter gone wrong.
the twat.
Kanes a bigger one!
Well done both, fully deserved. Very very pleased for Arsene, the stick he has had was mostly very narrow minded. He has been able to compete financially for two seasons now and he is showing his worth. We are not far away from being very very good. Coyg
No disrespect to Giroud, but it’s Gerrard all day long for me.
who is Gerrard?
The stampy bloke from the Poo who are about to finish 5th…
who is Gerrard? was he à contentender as well?
All the downward thumbs for an obvious joke. I’d also give Gerrard the “Most entertaining player of the month” award. Or the “Coco’s clownage behaviour” award.
Not obvious, and not funny so you failed on both counts unfortunately.
Most entertaining player of the minute!
Stampy G?
Errrm
Brandon fuck off!!
You mixed up the website! This is not Liverpool site!!!!!!
And he’s not even world class eh?? Well done Giroud. Wenger? Well he’s used to it.
You should put an easy obvious link to the main (blog) site on this page
Hover over the home icon 😉
I’ve been using this site for years and didn’t know that those were nested menus! Have a thumb up Blogs!
I love the site blogs, but I am in agreement. I visit the News page by typing n in my URL bar. Sometimes the links on the arseblog page don’t load for me, which is all very bizarre. So I just access them directly by typing in the first few letters to the web address. Lost count of the amount of times I’ve clicked the News Cannon Logo expecting to go back to the blog, then when my brain has finished farting around, I type in ‘arse’ and hit enter, works easier for me. No a huge deal, but yeah,… Read more »
Happy for Wenger, back to winning an award he was a regular for. Has been so long. Giroud, you still have time to get the golden boot. Go for it !
Wenger has won an award for being exactly what he is: an average manager. Beating the likes of QPR, Newcastle and Everton isn’t anything to write home about. The win at Old Trafford was impressive, but let’s put it into perspective: Swansea have done the double over United this season. Come the end of the season we’ll probably only end up with third or fourth, and if we’re lucky another FA Cup: that’s not exactly setting the world alight, is it? Maybe there should be an anti-manager award for his pathetic performance in the Champions’ League against the mighty Monaco.… Read more »
Sorry fats, thumbed you up by mistake, I was trying to reply so quickly (as your posts so often have that kind of “fight or flight” effect on me)!
Actually have forgotten my planned response apart from …”pack it in mate”!
COYG!
Why do we have to be lucky to win the FA cup? We are more than capable of winning it.
The title should say ‘ Wenger et Giroud fetent le Manager et le Joueur du mois’.
So happy for Giroud. He works hard for the team.
Loloma (love) from a huge Arsenal fan in Fiji.
Vous parlez bollox 🙂
Great to see the reversal of fortunes between our HFB and Mr van Skunk.
Paul tout les connards parlent comme toi.
Fat Gunner have ever thought seeing a specialist?
I am telling my Mum you said that! 🙂
Giroud has to keep up this form if he wants the chance to join Messi in polishing Lord Bendtners boots.
“underwhelming quartet” hehe
well deserved its being long seeing an Arsenal player win such award. Keep it up guys u can do better. PL team of the year looking forward to seeing 6 arsenal players and Wenger being the coach of the year. Am I greedy or just being optimistic. COYG
