Arsene Wenger has dismissed suggestions he wants to sign an Argentine striker, currently playing in Italy, after the chairman of the club to whom the player is contracted claimed a bid had been lodged by the Gunners.
It was obviously utter bollocks from start to finish, although that didn’t stop pretty much every newspaper in England reporting it.
And Arsene has said as much this morning.
“Ask him [the chairman of the club] to show you the offer…[there’s no interest] not at all,” said the boss when asked about the ‘bid’.
We’re not even going to mention the player, the chairman or the club involved. They bring Adrian Durham levels of shame on Serie A.
Close to peak poo…and we’re not even anywhere near the transfer window opening.
Who did it?
Such a stupid move from Palermo.
El sheerarkfsvskdiy huh? Well at least he isnt awful for 11m sure if Poldi, Campbell and Walcott leave why not? Not my first choice but still a capable player.
1 goal this season. Can’t get in first team of a mediocre milan side. You having a laugh m8?
The player in question is Dybala. El shaawaray is Italian for a start.
On a sliding scale of shame is Adrian Durham better or worse than John Terry? …… I’m thinking worse
Oh man that’s a tough one. Have to agree though, worse! I hate that he has a career.
Hey bro, tell daddy Wangge says hello… He’ll know what it means.
Oops wrong bullshit rumor. But I like Dybala.. :/
We’re saving our money up for buying back TGSTEL, mark my words.
Not going to be cheap but what every true Arsenal fan desires.
Now, do I have to put ‘lol jks’ for the humourless ones?
Probably not the right forum but i fucking love ZAMPARINI and DYBALA would be an interesting signing…..from PALERMO
Let the down votes rain down
That broke the poo-meter! Stinks all the way from Italy
Yep, the poo – ometer is off the scales, caput, f*cked…..
I thought the poo meter only went to ten. I guess you really do learn something new every day.
He’s obviously gonna deny any transfer rumour when the window’s closed and worst case scenario it has a negative impact on whoever’s currently occupying the position of say transfer target. I personally think it could be on for Dybala in the summer cause I think Welbeck in the long term will be viewed as a forward/winger. So there’s a need for another Striker
Sebastian Frey plays as a striker now?
shame on France for not capping him. Argentina will be unplayable
Dybala just isn’t good enough or worth the money being suggested.
Dybala = Cavani……(insert any other name being mentioned as our transfer targets).
We are never any of those. Cavani is currently a shite player. Dyabala, aside from youtube clips, enuff said
Cavani is not a shit player. He’s not being used properly in psg and i would take him in a heartbeat.
To think that many had put the Argentine in our line-up for next season already.
Cavani has not been Shit, but he is not so comfortable out on the wing as he is up front. But he is playing second violin to Ibra, so he got to be content as a winger. He still got 8 league goals and 5 champions league goals and he fits perfectly in Wengers philosophy in that he pulls his weight both offensively and defensively. However I dont think he is worth anywhere close to the 50 mill PSG appatently want for him. But he is not Shit. Dybala seems to be a massive talent and at 21 yrs old… Read more »
But Dybala is 5’10, 152 lbs. Not going to work with how we use strikers.
Unless we go for another big talent with closer to the Giroud skill/attribute set, I’d just as soon keep Welbeck in consideration for 2nd striker, train in Akpom and Sanogo, get a winger. Besides, we have Alexis if need be for that speedy, tricky, hardworking striker role if that suits the match.
Exactly. Anyone who thinks wenger hasn’t scouted or isn’t interested in Dybala clearly hasn’t watched him play. I’d take him in a heartbeat without any complaints. He’d the a VERY VERY good replacement for theo instead of giving liverpool 30-40m plus theo for sterling.
he also plays in a dying league against a lot of shit teams. Statistics are nice, but you can’t ignore the context from which they are drawn.
Yeah, a “dying league” who still have a team in the CL (unlike the PL) and who also had 5 of the last 16 and 2 of the last 8 in the Europa league, i.e. they have a strong middle tier. Of course they have their problems but let’s not go overboard.
Wenger has categorically denied making a bid in the past for various players with events at a later stage proving the opposite.
I recall quite clearly how he went out of his way to quell the rumours around a January bid for Draxler (often laughing it off in press-confrences) only for the Schalke chairman admitting (once the window had shut) that arsenal had tabled a sizeable offer, with the player noting the same in a later interview with sky.
Jus’ sayin…
