In vaguely interesting ex-player news, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been appointed as the new manager of Dutch side Feyenoord.
After losing their last game 3-0, the Eredivisie outfit brought forward plans to replace Fred Rutten with the former Gunner.
They released a statement, saying, “The club management has decided it is better if Fred Rutten and Feyenoord split straight away.
“Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who was due to take over from Rutten next season, will now take charge.”
From what we can gather Van Bronckhorst has been at the club since around 2011 in a coaching capacity, and we thought this would be a good round-up of where some of that squad are now.

Patrick Vieira – Current manager of Man City’s Elite Development Squad (ie – the reserves)
Dennis Bergkamp – Assistant manager to Frank de Boer at Ajax
Thierry Henry – Doing coaching badges, yucking it up on Sky Sports
Robert Pires – Being dreamy wherever he goddam likes
Oleg Luznhy – Has had a couple of spells as Interim Manager of Dynamo Kiev
Igors Stepanovs – Manager of Latvian U17s
Edu – Director of football at Corinthians
Gilles Grimandi – Arsenal scout
Tony Adams – Former manager, now trying to take over Aston Villa
Stuart Taylor – Tragically became fused with a bench in 2009
Stuart Taylor the poor bunch fucking bastard… a true backup player, never complained for all those years. He makes sense to me, get paid a shit ton to do nothing. Why complain at all! I mean, unless you actually enjoy playing football which our team does now.
I’ll say one thing for Taylor: he has a wicked sense of humour. This was what he said after signing with Leeds last year: “If you ask any footballer, they all want to be the first choice in their position and I’m no different.”
Isn’t Stuart Taylor now a form of limescale? (checks biodiversity book)
And Sol, trying to become Tory candidate for London Mayor… *weeps brotherly socialist tears of sorrow*
Isn’t Jens now a psychological profiler for the Belgian equivalent of the FBI?
And Oleg Lhuzny now heads up a syndicate of “businessmen” in central Asia who look after certain construction and energy interests in that part of the world.
I also heard that Djourou is about to succeed Legard at the IMF.
I had tip Wenger for the IMF. European crisis solved and Greece will be building stadiums all over the place.
“I don’t want to comment on speculation”
“We only look to spend on top top top quality bailouts”
“They’re like a new signing”
If Sol fails to get elected will it be because there are no opportunities for black mayoral candidates?
Steve Bould is Assistant Manager at Arsenal. What’s David O’ Leary doing these days?
On Djourou, this remains one of my all-time favourite Arseblog News articles: http://news.arseblog.com/2012/04/djourou-we-must-get-a-handle-european-sovereign-debt-crisis/
And Kanu vaying a post with the Nigerian football federation
Remember when we kept selling left backs to barca?
If we’re going to move up a level then it’s time for Wenger to saddle up and the mouth-watering prospect of a Luznhy/Stepanovs managerial partnership to be given it’s long overdue go at the reins.
You forgot Karbassiyoon – unearthing future Arsenal stars such as Zelalem.
I thought she was married to Kanye West or something…
Chamakh to quit Palace at seasons end and open up a shisha right in the middle of London. Weary customers to be transported home in a fleet of taxis curiously owned by one Niklas B.
