Interesting, very interesting indeed

DanJGooner

Coquelin has played virtually every game since January so has earnt a rest. Would have liked Rosicky and Theo to have gotten a game as well. oh well, COYG

Andy Mack

They’re likely to sit back, so little space behind their defence for Theo to use.
But I would have had Alexis on the bench now and on sunday (give him the last 20 mins to keep him happy) to rest him for the Cup.

Petit's Handbag

Arsene has learned from Swansea that there may be no need for Le Coq in these games were teams are going to come to the Emirates and put 11 men behind the ball.
Hopefully Jack can perform tonight

jo

yes, after coming out flat against swansea and man u and playing on only a few days of rest, we should have rotated even more heavily. i would have liked

alexis
rosicky wilshire walcott
ramsey coq
gibbs gabriel mert debuchy

DialSquareGoon

No consideration for the tired performances of Alexis and Santi? Would have loved to see Rosicky and Walcott start but we are spoiled for options so COYG!!!!

NCGooner

Yup for me Rosicky in place of Cazorla would have been ideal. Sometimes not sure what AW is thinking :/ … but as the saying goes Arsene Knows !!

I can see that he absolutely wants to win this one and keep the rotation to WBA game, but not like Rosicky is a youngster.

Well … GO GUNNERS !!!

Paul

I wonder if we will see some subs before 70 mins? Theo surely?

Dylan

Really excited for Wilshere to be honest. Hope he takes this chance and shows what he’s capable of.

Smart-Arse

Intrigued to see how this works for us. Disappointed that no Walcott and Rosicky but excited about the potential of 3 or 4 goals with this team. Inititate kill mode, please

up the arse

sunderland probably coming to sit deep ,and defend ,maybe hope for a counter attack ,so just jumping the gun and skipping the process bof subbing le coq

Heroldgoon

I like Wilshere and change. it excites me

CLEgooner

So, Wilshere on the right, Ramsara in the middle?

cheekyjc

This is also what I’m wondering…

Arsenalman29

Wilshere has impressed me on his return. Of the short periods ive seen him play, he looks sharp, and his touch is still amazing. I like the look of the team, and i’m predicting a 3-0 win to the gunners. And seal 3rd spot. Would be nice if Man City messed up in there last few games, but can’t see it happening. COYG

cheekyjc

Man city only have one game left I believe, against Southampton, which is not one I see in the realms of possibility them losing. Could happen!

pedro

We could definitely have done with resting Santi or Alexis for this one…probably not both. Happy for Jack though

Chuffy

Hmmmm, this was an opportunity for Walcott and Gabriel, resting Kos and Santi. I hope this doesn’t backfire. Remember we need a point. Sunderland will come for a point and will undoubtedly frustrate us.

chippy's chip

Come on you rip roaring reds. Resting? Alexis? You can try!

gooner4lyfe

No monreal, no party

Glocken

Pretty obvious that Wenger is freezing out Theo when he can, no logical reason to play Ramsey on the right against Sunderland at home.

moonie

Could be Wilshire on the right.Who knows.Would’ve loved me some TR7 today.

David C

a draw is enough to secure 3rd place right?

COYG!!!

Hungry_Jorge

Not technically, if we lose on Sunday and United win by a lot they could finish third, but for all intents and purposes a draw would do.

Simon

My initial thoughts on that is that Sunderland are going for it. Very attacking line up will have to be careful on the counter.

TheRealJenkooooooo

Good selection. This type of match passes coquelin by cause hes qualities are not really needed.
*Not a criticism

God is Bergkamp, Bergkamp is God

Surprised we’re not looking to start anyone different on the mid/fwd core aside from Wilshere, particularly for Coq. Certainly not keeping Walcott like this, but I’d love to rest Sanchez already as well.

goonero

I don’t know why I feel like I can second guess Arsene. I really should have learned by now.

John C

I hope this isn’t a return to the Ramsey/Wilshere pairing in the middle that was such a disaster earlier this season. It might have worked for 15 minutes against a tired Untied side on the weekend but i fear that over a whole match they’ll leave so many holes in the centre of our team we’ll get punish.

n11gooner

Don’t care what player is or isn’t playing… Just want the win.. COYG

Brent

Why not give Alexis a break? Surely he gets one on Sunday.

Paul

I rekon Dad knows what he is doing.
COYG!

palace gunner

Three big games one tnite arsenal fc can win the next west brom look how talented they did v chavs then f.a cup coyg

Femi

Why is wenger so unwilling to rest sanchez and introduce rossa? He’s got penchant to run players down till they get injured. Would ve love to see walcott and tomas start, however, arsenal will pound the black cats tonite by 4 goals to nil

Paul

Not happy with Ozil’s sideburns…but the boys are playing well and Jack is back!

Siz C

Will we ever takes shots from outside the box?

Wenger C'est fini

Fucking terrible.
But Wenger and Giroud are fucking untouchable.

Fuhgedaboudit

Getting really tired of seeing 9 men back in front of the goalie the whole damn game. It really negates the superior team’s ability. Allows a much weaker team to just “hang on”.
