Theo Walcott has admitted he can do better in front of goal, but says the fact that he was in the right positions was a positive.
The 26 year old squandered two glorious chances to score in the first half, and struggled to make an impact in the build-up play, but he’s backing himself to improve next time around.
“I had opportunities but I just didn’t take them,” he told Arsenal Player. “Like I said before, I would on another day. If I came out and had no chances at all I would be very disappointed.
“It’s good that I was in there and I know that I can do better, but we got the three points and that’s most important.
“I enjoy playing anywhere in the front line,” he continued. “The manager gave me an opportunity and it’s a shame I couldn’t help him out there by getting those goals but they’ll come.
“It was difficult after they went to 10 men, but you need to be able to adapt.”
With Olivier Giroud the only Arsenal player to score a goal so far this Premier League season, there was a chance for Walcott to show that he was capable of being a real option up top, but that performance won’t have convinced too many.
I’d like to see him start from the right side with giroud in the middle. Will be interesting to see how that works out.
His assists could be huge for Giroud, like they were for Judas 3 years ago.
I would really like to see this as well. He and Giroud were really starting to click before the ACL thing, and Giroud would keep the oafs in the middle busy.
Fucking Judas man, God.
Just say van Persie, he’s not fucking Voldermort. Calling an ex player Judas sounds more than a little spursish.
Sp*rsish, if you don’t mind!
We’ve seen it and it’s looked great at times. I don’t understand Walcott, either you understand you have to play at RW or give it your best when you play as a striker. My issue isn’t the fact that he missed or something like that, my issue is that he just simply isn’t trying hard enough. For someone who got offered a massive new contract reportedly making him the joint highest player in the team, and someone who’s getting chances at a position he wants, he doesn’t seem to want to prove that he deserves it. Players like Chambers (in… Read more »
You do realize that Theo is not even the fastest player in our squad, right?
Over 40m. If I’m not mistaken Bellerin is even faster than Usain Bolt over 40m (clocked times).
Still though, even if I’m mistaken about Theo being the fastest player in the world, he’s still pretty damn quick and the point stands.
To be fair, it’s probably a more relevant gauge of speed, unless one player has to sprint from his own area to the other penalty box in one go.
Why would Usain Bolt run over 40 metres? And I’d rather have players that are footballistically sound than fast…which would rule Walcott out.
Joke statistic.
When we cut all the BS and actually face facts… he just isn’t very good, is he? You can throw all the stats around you want, but ultimately he’s had one mediocre, okay-ish season for Arsenal, then he got injured. Again. Now, I’m not implying that it’s his fault that he is injury prone. But if Welbeck is fit, I’d put Theo behind him and The Ox, and obviously Sanchez. I genuinely prefer Ramsey out right instead of Theo, as Ramsey makes way better runs off the ball, he’s more intelligent with the ball, and he actually has a work… Read more »
Just a shame his legs are to quick for his brain.
I agree with everything you just said. Walcott simply does not battle in games, that’s why I love Alexis and Ramsey. Even if they have a bad game at least they don’t hide. They get into tackles, hassle and harry opponents.
Haha you said joint highest
Wow! What a glorious comment #fact
That usually works out as a highway for opposition players down our right flank as our RB has to deal with two players as Theo isn’t particularly fond of part of the game we call “defending”. There’s a reason Arsene doesn’t fancy him on the wing and prefers to play players out of position there.
Chair?
I’m really starting to feel Theo’s best position is coming on from the bench. 95% of the teams we play in the prem sit deep and don’t allow us time on the ball. Because it works. So we’ve adapted by using a target man with a physical presence. Theo after 70 mins I get excited about. Theo vs Collucini and Taylor, not so much.
Totally agree with this. I had seen a stat floating around about goals scored by Theo off the bench — which supported the opinion that he could be an effective super-sub to be brought on as opposition players begin to tire. Can’t see him liking that role, however.
I said years ago that Pedro is a better player than him.
He must be a super sub and coming on the wing for Ox at 65-70minute.
So they can have the afterburners on for 90 minutes!
What on Earth is he talking about Newcastle going to 10 men and Arsenal having to adapt! What the? It’s an advantage for us!
Giroud is pretty tidy off the bench, too, if I recall. I have no idea what the statistics say, but I remember him seeming like a supersub when he was coming back from injury. So maybe we start Inanimate Carbon Rod at CF and then just routinely sub at 70 minutes.
Problem is, if we don’t score before Theo comes on against a parked bus, we can’t play on the break/against a higher line, so putting him on doesn’t help. I agree with Blog’s assertion of him being the Goldilocks player – everything has to be just right for him to become effective. A player on £140k a week should be effective when we need him to be, not when all the planets align for him. The similar problem exists with Giroud – teams can play a high line if they want, because he’s too slow to run in behind. If… Read more »
Yup but then that would be at the expense of Ox. That is the problem with the current formation.
Tried that. He won’t defend.
it will be consistent in patches!
For me, Theo is not the answer up top. I think it’s slightly scandalous that he’s one of the highest earners at the club too. He’s not worth the money, he doesn’t really offer a lot in my opinion. He’s too naive on the ball and off of it. An okay option off of the bench, but in all honesty I think he should count himself lucky he plays for Arsenal. He needs to improve his work rate minimum, the stats from Sky Sports were he had 8 touches in the first half (give or take) and again he had… Read more »
Only “slightly scandalous” REALLY???
Totally! I was really hoping Arsene took off the Ox against New castle, when he got Giroud on.
But alas, as usual, Giroud and Theo don’t get to play together. Seriously, when was the last time the two of them played together? For that matter, when was the last time Theo played/started on the wing?
I suspect there is something going on about this. Maybe Theo has asked not politely to be played in the center, or the Manager simply doesnt trust his defensive work ethic, but surely something is at play.
I like Walcott but don’t think we can afford to let him train to be a striker in our first team…
That’s the problem. We bought him as a nippy little winger and we trained him to be a nippy little winger. Nobody taught him how to be a CF but it’s been obvious for years that Thierry Henry was his hero. Should have read the signs and either broadened his education or quashed his CF urges. Now we have to deal with a wannabe CF who is completely unsuited to it and seemingly lacks the football brain needed to pull it off. It’s not like he can even move to another team to be a CF. They’ll only want him… Read more »
sell him
A bit harsh. But maybe if we had cashed in over the summer we could have splurged the cash on a big name striker. I think one of our biggest problems in trying to draw a top, top quality forward is our restrictive wage structure. if we offer Benzema 200k per week then other squad members will demand that too. if we’re serious about winning the prem or the champions league though I think we need to adapt to the market that level of success brings with it .
we have cash, what we don’t have is determination
a 70m bid for Benzema would force things to happen yet we do nothing
Benzema’s real value is not there, but neither is Sterling’s or De Bruyne’s
if we want to be title winners we have to do the things the ridiculous way that most top clubs do it, otherwise the 3rd place is there for us to take it
Walcott is really overrated
could be a star in mid-table league, that’s his peak
The OX is a much better player already
You really think we do nothing? If wenger and the board were content to coast along without winning anything we wouldn’t have got Alexis and Ozil. The problem is more to do with a lack of top class strikers, and the fact that we don’t have virtually unlimited funds like the teams around us. This isn’t Football Manager or Fifa. It amazes me how many fans fail to grasp this.
oh the classic FM-Fifa quote
it almost beats the “you should support Man Shitty instead”
it amazes how many fans fail to understand how modern football works
Hehe, they are funny though. Some fool was telling me how many stewards it takes to manage a 60.000 crowd. Like the fuck that’s got anything to do with the money a board member and wenger has told us is there for transfers. Product mother fucker product.
I’m personally of the belief that if AW really wants someone, he has both the ability & resources now to get the player. For example as achieved with either Ozil or Akexis. So, I therefore believe that either he already has something in place that will happen on deadline day, or more likely he doesn’t actually specifically want anyone, & believes the current squad is good enough. I Love the boss, & yes I fully believe the current squad should be performing far better. I respectfully would have to agree to disagree though that we couldn’t stregthen, especially up front.… Read more »
I’d love to see Benzema at Arsenal, but the other question is whether he really wants to leave Madrid. I don’t pay attention to social media, but the BBC and other channels report that his posts online suggest that he doesn’t want to go anywhere. Not too much you can do about that.
Spot on, Wang Coq. TTT, in the first place, we don’t have the money to pay out £200,000 a week in wages. Our budget, while larger than it was, is not unlimited. We don’t have £200m to spend on players, that’s all the money we have in the bank before we have paid wages, fuel bills etc… We don’t have the sort of funds which would enable us to make Real Madrid an offer they can’t refuse for a player they want to keep and who does not want to leave. £70 million? Pfft. And what makes you think that… Read more »
Or you force the hand. Do you think Manu wanted to sell CR7? But hey here’s £80million…kay!
I’m not implying we should go out and do the same just that don’t be naive. Every player has a price.
Pocket lint and a pint and I’d leave ManU for Real.
Not the same as convincing someone to leave a perennial UCL contender (to win, that is) to come to the Arsenal.
Sanchez ozil? Not really an upgrade to Arsenal but we footed the £42m and £35m respectivly thus forcing Barca and real to sell.
Falcao to Monaco another fine example. Make an astronomical bid stir things up abit at Real (Benzema) you never know!
It’s interesting how many comments this transfer window – by TTT and others – have tried to make City and, to a lesser extent, Chelski into the model clubs showing “determination”, etc. for example through the purchases of De Bruyne and Pedro. In City’s case the fact is conveniently forgotten that they won a grand total of squat last season and have been awful in the CL for several seasons now, despite spending huge sums every single summer window. Chelski look a shambles despite all of their “determination”. That’s overlooking for the moment the question of whether everyone is on… Read more »
amazing is the fact that both Chelsea and City have won the league while we’re celebrating for the FA cup
that’s what it is about and they’re better in titles for some years now
Not sure why this is “amazing”. Are you suggesting we shouldn’t celebrate winning the FA Cup? By that logic should anyone celebrate winning the league if they don’t also win the CL? In my opinion it’s ok to celebrate winning things – even trophies as low in your estimation as the FA Cup. People support clubs for many different reasons. I don’t think it’s possible to win everything every season, and I’m ok with that. I enjoy watching a team develop together and try to play an interesting style of football. I personally would not enjoy supporting a club that… Read more »
Arsenal haven’t played ‘interesting’ football for several years now.
Tip tap, back, tip tap, sideways, snore snore snore, own goal, yay.
Yes far to slow and predictable. No width no early longer(not long) balls to forwards. Shame we have all the pace but never use it.
Agree with all of that, apart from including Man U in the soul-selling transfer policy group. As much as we despise them for being who they are, they earn the stupid amounts of money they’ve decided to spend (their kit deal with Adidas alone is worth £75m a year ffs!). PS – Benzema: Real don’t need to sell because FFP is out the window (just look at Man City for evidence). We wouldn’t be able to afford to pay him more than he gets now (which is probably stupid money – you can’t afford to buy diamond-encrusted footballs on peanuts).… Read more »
your point is valid, but your assumption is that we are everything chelski and man city are not. That is not true. We have a team that threatens to develop all the time and does not, we lack mental strength, we lack variation, and we lack power. And we are mentally weak. Soul selling ticketing prices, we have them. Lack of ambition, we seem to have a ceiling on our ambitions. I still agree that there is little to be proud of if you just keep throwing money at players. Where I disagree is the implicit assumption that we are… Read more »
“It was difficult after they went to 10 men, but you need to be able to adapt.”
That some sort of joke?
Jeez.
I know, it seems Wenger would far rather play 11 v 11. And here was us thinking Newcastle having a man less for 70 mins was a good thing. Everyday’s a school day.
When the red card came out, I texted my friend who supports Newcastle and said, “I can see this ending 0-0.”
Not a joke at all, and he’s right. Not a coincidence that we looked so much better before the sending off.
When they had 11, they actually tried to score, giving us space to exploit. After they went to 10, they moved their defensive line back 15 yards and parked the bus.
It’s not that complicated. It’s often easier to beat a team who’s trying to win as opposed to one who’s just trying to prevent a goal.
How about sell Theo, sell Campbell, add that cash to the pot we already have and spend £100 million on a world class striker?
Who will pay the electricity bill and don’t forget 200 stewards must cost, er, not very much coyg
Gosh, always the same song! There are three sides in a transfer: buyer, seller, player. All three sides need to agree. Name the fabled worldclass striker where all three sides do! Real and Barca DON’T NEED MONEY (if they haven’t spent like 150m in a window or want to get rid of a player because they have a new toy in his position – and they haven’t in this window). Following your logic, Man City should have Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez and Neymar and win everything every year. Benzema doesn’t want to leave. Why would he? He’s a regular starter at… Read more »
Despite the fact that you pick up more thumbs down than anyone else the last two days, you failed to grasp the facts that were given to you. The costs are cumulative, if we were only paying for things like the Stewards wages, then sure, we have £200m in the bank and most of it is for transfers. The problem that your thick head can’t grasp is that there are hundreds of areas that cost the club money. You hear that Arsenal has £200m in cash reserves and you assume that all of that must mean for transfers, you can’t… Read more »
call everyone fools, who points out*
Whilst I agree he’s an idiot, and whilst I agree the money in the bank isn’t set aside for transfers, I don’t think it would be a particularly sound business model to use ‘cash in the bank’ for paying operating costs.
As far as I’m aware, it is supposed to be used as an asset to indemnify the business against risk. For that same reason, it would be a bit stupid to spend it all on transfers.
Hear, hear. But who will buy?
Not a proper winger in the world right now than that Bayern New boy Douglas Costa..wow just wow!
And for only £25m aswell!
I honestly wouldn’t of flinched if we’d of sold
him this window.
Personally think we need to try a 4-4-2 system where Theo can make runs off of Giroud. It’s why our midfield scores more when Giroud plays as they know he’ll win most of the aerial duels and start making runs beyond him before he flicks the balls on. Just another option to our standard system where it’s either Giroud or Theo playing.
Thing about Theo is that he needs to get more involved too. Goes missing a lot. When teams play deep against City, Aguero will still be involved and he needs to try and do the same.
And who would you drop in favour of Walcott in a 442 system?
Presumably you would move Sanchez out wide and further from the opponents goal, as well as Ox/Ramsey on the opposite side and then what? Who do you drop out of Ozil, Santi and Coquelin? Could you imagine telling one of them that they are being dropped because Walcott needs to play? I couldn’t.
Oh boy, here we go.
Theo, you’re in for a good paddlin’ now.
Is that a shift – “I enjoy playing anywhere in the front line”. Don’t think he has ever said that. Maybe an acceptance that he is just more effective from the wing
Think that’s more him saying i would rather be on the pitch than warming the bench.
We know like Giroud and Ozil etc, Theo is unique in his strengths. So i’m 100% ehind him to hit his stride soon rather than later.
we have one of our highest paid players who can only play in one position (RW) and needs a lot of space to operate.
Now all we have to do is instruct our opponents to come out en-masse.
That is a damning, but sadly all too true verdict.
It’s funny because I used to think Walcott was a good finisher, but he’s not even that, is he? He’s getting paid 150k a week to play in only one kind of game…which almost never happens. I’m trying to think of the teams who actually press us. Not Chelsea. City, maybe? Liverpool? United sometimes, but more often counterattack.
So how many games a season will Walcott be useful? A small handful.
Or we play entirely on the left hand side like we have been, leaving space on the right for him. It’d be good to have someone over there when we’re packed in on the left.
I think the opposition might spot us doing that and push all their counter-attacks past Walcott on the right while we all desperately try to get over there from the left.
That’s why it’s nice to have Coquelin, and two of the fastest players in the league on that side.
One of the fastest players in the league, the other is too busy hiding away from his defensive duties.
Should have sold him whilst his stock was high and after he and his embassy tried holding the club over a barrel on his wages. Again.
Blew his ACL on defensive duties.
I’m not sure why this is seen as such a clearly negative thing. There are a lot of players – many world class – who can really only play in one position effectively. If you put them in the right position in the right set up, they do well. City just paid how much for Sterling who is a very similar player – can’t play anywhere but the wing and isn’t much help defensively or in the build up. But they paid a heap because pace is hard to come by.
No 10, striker, wing, wingback kid can lock down all this roles at city if he wants to. Sterling is just that good.
They paid a heap on Raheem because they dont have enough home grown player in their team.
My Granny could have scored the chances Theo missed (and she’s dead!) 🙂
Well I don’t think she could then as I doubt we would be allowed to name her as a player in that case…
Corpse in the box! I’ll get my coat…
I think the way we set up our attack is what got our CFs harder to score in the last few games. No matter if it’s Giroud or Walcott. Most of the time our passing & movement in the final third barely involve them. The ball always goes to anybody but the CF. It’s weird! But I agree with the above commenters, why can’t we play with Alexis-Giroud-Walcott upfront? If the argument is because Theo doesn’t track back, well somebody gotta make him do it ffs! & it’s not like he has to throw tackle or anything like that, he… Read more »
totally agree!! People also used to slate for Ozil for not tracking back. However, if a world class attacker like Mesut can learn to track back, tackle and help out, Walcott should sure as well be able to do the same. I’m not convinced he is a super centre forward like he thinks, and is in danger of completely wasting his talent. Walcott is a dam good right wing and has shown it over a number of seasons. Why can’t he just focus on what he’s good at and become world class on the wing?! At this rate, he’ll be… Read more »
I hope he gets more chances after the international break to play upfront. Once he gets going, he usually gets goals by a bunch. Too bad we don’t have any players left for Wenger to buy any more. How silly does the 40 million and 1 pound we offered for Suarez looks now! Makes one wonder how effective he would have been with Ozil creating all those chances.
Err…you do know if we’d gotten Suarez we probably would never have gotten Ozil as Arsene would most likely have passed on that deal at the time
Wasn’t the Suarez debacle after we’d bought Ozil?
We would have gotten Cesc back the year after for less than Ozil.
Cesc didn’t want to come back to us. He was set in his mind to come to Chelsh*t.
Did Wenger not openly admit he turned down Cesc from rejoining Arsenal.
Maybe you are right. But you are completely missing the point. We needed Suarez and we didn’t get him because we made an asinine offer. Obviously there is a ‘lack of strikers’, to use one of Wenger’s expression because we don’t want to pay the world class strikers the fees others are paying. I refuse to believe that there aren’t players available who can improve our team because teams all around us are improving with new additions. Ozil was effective in Madrid because he had world class players at the end of his passes to convert the goals. If I… Read more »
Agreed we should have went all out for Saurez because one thing our team never lack is a CAM and Cesc was available the year after for less so it would have been a win win all around.
Because, of course, we knew that Cesc was going to be available a year in advance…
of course arsenal needed an attacker like suares (than could play upfront or behind giroud) much more than another tiny playmaker. meaning even fabregas wouldnt be necessary if we missed out on ozil.
Depends what kind of dope you’re smoking I guess.
Seeing that his only competitors are OG & og, he had better be better than them and FAST !!!
Average
The mind setting of “theo at £140k” shapes arguements on here. Shame. He got the best deal when he probably shouldn’t have i get that…but don’t you don’t always get what you deserve in life now do ya?
TH14. Ur alright.
Personally I’d sell him and use the money to upgrade to someone like Griezman who does have a buy out clause.
No idea why we didn’t buy Griezman before Althetico he has always been very good and long linked to Arsenal
We can’t spend, who will pay the groundsman and catering staff. It’s hilarious on here.
That’s the 3rd comment relating to my post shutting down your drivel yesterday. Feel free to take it out of context all you want, lol, you’re still utterly wrong about us having £200m to spend on players. Muppet.
Stringer Bell, you are a sad, pathetic douche bag.
When Walcott speaks I get the same feeling I get when speaking to an estate agent or used car salesman
ha ha ha ha ha! Yes! Have a recommend my friend. ha ha ha ha, well put, I really found that funny.
(no sarcasm, see my post below).
My issue is that if he plays from te right for a whole season, he can get 20 goals and 10 assists which is a great return. If he plays in the middle he maybe gets a couple more goals. Much better to have his goals from wide (a real asset in any team) and still have a striker getting 20 goals
Tick tock, tick tock….
Theo ain’t no striker.
The end.
My issue is that Theo tried to mask the fact he missed the “sitter” in the photo! He should have been kicking the hoardings after that miss imo!
Highly paid footballers eh?
Arsenal need a top top striker.
The end.
I think you really have to give him a 10 game run upfront then judge him.
Remember he was out for a year so a decent run would help for his match sharpness.
“10 game run”!!? We will be fighting the Spuds in a relegation battle by then! 🙂
That would be more than fair – on him – but there’s no way Arsene can put him up front repeatedly when he’s turning in those kind of results!
We’d best play without a striker then. Too risky.
Far too risky, imo. Four to five max, also depending on who the opposition team is.
I think he and Giroud are an excellent foil for each other. With Girouds link up play and Theos penetrative runs they’d be pulling defences every which way. I just don’t think theo can lead the line for us on his own. I’d be happy if he proves me wrong but I can’t think of a situation where I’d rather have theo up front than either Giroud or Welbeck.
I suspect the only reason we succumbed to his obscene wages, and they are fucking obscene, is because we could not guarantee him first team football but did not want to face the prospect of losing him for free next summer. He knows he will be a bit-part player, and i suspect that in lieu of any playing guarantees he demanded a massive wage on the proviso that he can move next summer. He has done us a solid by signing a new contract and thus retaining his value, but my concern is that I do not believe any other… Read more »
Could’ve just sold him this summer?
Perhaps there weren’t any takers? I’m not even sure what value we’d put on him? Personally if someone offered ten million I would bite their hand off. His contract is going to cost us 30 million over four years. Thirty million fucking pounds, this figure literally insults me
He’s been poor, no doubt about it. And his comments are worrying too, you can’t be a top CF if you’re that limited. Saying that, our midfield aren’t exactly helping him, they’ve been just as poor really.
I like to see Walcott and Giroud together but I’m not sure it will be good for the balance of the team (particularly defensively)
OTOH if we are chasing a goal for the last 10 minutes rather than swapping out one for the other, we should perhaps go for overload up top, have Giroud central and Walcott just off him. Old school.
Zelalem is making plenty of waves behind the wall. From what I’m seeing, the boy seems to have been spending a lot time with ozil. Good luck Gideon
Walcott may believe he can do better but it’s hard to see him getting another chance (as striker after that effort). Like others here, I think he might be better wide (opposite Alexis) with Giroud up front & center – assuming we are not going to sign another striker before Tuesday.
Sell Theo and get a decent striker in and sodding hurry up Wenger!!!
Don’t feel so bad Feo the next great supposed strikers have been unable to find their groove also ,Torres,Higuain and Falcao comes to mind and yes I know they had proven themselves already.
He certainly has shown he is far more productive on the right side, but not sure how it will work with Bellerin behind him as both like to do the same thing. I still don’t believe Walcott had 18 touches, my guess would have been 10. Either pretty sad in a game when we had nearly 75% of the possession vs a 10 man squad.

Arseblog, why do you so much Walcott? You never wish him success except looking for his mistakes? Please watch the game again and see all his positioning in the front! Ozil would have make Walcott great on Saturday! Why did not you mention how wasteful Sanchez was especially in times of quick counter attack? He always tried dribbling two people rather than give a free man pass and that affords the opponents to reassemble and thus render Walcott useless. The earlier you and Wenger knows we are not a one man team, the better. By the way ask yourself this… Read more »
Hi Theo!!! Good of you to stop by.
Oh my lord. “Like I said before, I would on another day. If I came out and had no chances at all I would be very disappointed.” So you told us before hand not to expect any goals this time, we were told already that you will score them another day. And if you had no chances, you would be very disappointed at having failed to keep up your promise not to score them. And you would be disappointed in the team that is supposed to create them, or yourself? “It’s good that I was in there and I know… Read more »
I tell you Charlie Austin should be our man. How many strikers in the world have a career record of better than a goal in 2 games? We can make him world class!
Our own Owen Gole, of course
2 goals in 3 games..
Considering AW wanted 10+ goals each from other players (Giroud and Sanchez notwithstanding), Owen Gole is way above the schedule!
Austin is going, going, gone to Manu, oh no, just the medja merry go round rumour….
As much as I’ve never thought that Walcott upfront is a choice that I enjoy considering, judging Theo on the number of touches in a match is misleading because his game is his speed and finishing ability, not passing and link-up play. In this case, he should learn to be more efficient. Right now, he is fit and has got game time. If he’s still not doing it, he should be on the bench. Giroud, even on a bad day offers much more.
The reality is the team as a whole have flattered to deceive so far this season. Once he hits his stride, which will probably coincide with the rest of the team, he will start banging them in. I have no doubt. It’s just how long he will have Wenger’s patience before he benches him or moves him back to the wing.
Like Ian Wright said, Wenger should have put Walcot as a central striker 5 years ago for him to learn the job properly, now it’s too late. Goals against west Brom and Villa in the cup final were due to the poor opposition more than anything.
We need a top striker, a real no. 9. Giroud is only good enough as a sub.
I admire giroud for his creativity as a cf but at this rate, arsenal is the highest ranking team with 1 goal to their name. If Wegner believes we can win the league like this, he’s crazy. If he signs mahrez or cavani or yarmolenko, any of these talents would help. I’m just frustrated with the start of our forecasted league winning campaign.
How I wish Theo could read these good comments and he has to learn how to use his pace #Alexis and Oxlade
